Bloody Med Express

They have been happily price matching Family Chemist for a few months. They are the cheapest w/o offers etc.

Today a smart ass informed me that of course they price match but it must be like for Luke offers.
As Family Chemist don't supply needles then they can't match it!

Have fired off an email pointing out that this is an utter cop out and that the 4 needles that Med Express supply cost a few pennies and certainly not the £30 price difference.
I suggested that they price match and keep their needles as I have a box of 200 that cost buttons!

You might as well just switch to the Family Chemist and avoid the monthly discussion with MedExpress?

Does anyone get irritation at the site of injection?

i have been getting itchy redness and a weird hard swelling lately

Yes I can currently see the last three injection sites on my legs. I get it with both pen needles and syringes. Luckily it's not swimsuit season!

Just checking in. I started end of March and am 46 pounds down now. 13.6 to 10.2.
Am delighted to have got down to this weight but can also relate to the recent posts of being a bit over dieting now. Have slacked a bit with food choices recently and need to get my arse into gear to lose the last 9 pounds. Treated myself to a new fitbit as mine broke 6 weeks ago and I do feel like it makes a difference with calorie counting so hopefully that will give me a boost.
Currently on 15mg but it was out of stock with pharmacy online who I have always used and so I ordered a 12.5 with the intention of tapering off while hopefully making some dent in the tricky last weight loss.
Feel ready to come off the jabs to be honest, but also nervous about going it alone!

Just checking in. I started beginning of March and am 38 pounds down now. 13.6 to 10.10.
Am delighted to have got down to this weight but can also relate to the recent posts of being a bit over dieting now. Have slacked a bit with food choices recently and need to get my arse into gear to lose the last 10 pounds. Treated myself to new Renpho scales 3 weeks ago and I do feel like it makes a difference with tracking progress so hopefully that will give me a boost.
Currently on 15mg with a few 10-15mg pens in reserve but it was out of stock with pharmacy online who I have always used and so hopefully making some dent in the tricky last weight loss.
Do NOT feel ready to come off the jabs to be honest, as am nervous about going it alone!

Today's NSV - hit a BMI of 25 which My Weight App classifies as Normal!!! Renpho scales normal range ends at 24.9 though so they are telling me my BMI is still 'slightly high'...

Thanks @ineedmoresleepnow - I didn't need to write my own post as yours matched what I wanted to say almost perfectly! (I didn't fully edit out the bit about your supplier being out of stock of 15mg though.)

I noticed on Oushk Facebook page they have stock of 12.5mg and expiry is Nov 25! So crazy how the 15mg always has short dates!

I was sure I saw a post on the Oushk site yesterday saying they had 15mg with an expiry of August 2025, but it looks like it's been removed. Maybe they didn't have many and they're running out?

They could have done as they posted a while back saying they didn't have much 15mg stock expiry Feb 25. Then I think I did see a recent post saying they had stock of 15mg again. So might be Aug 25 expiry.

Hey fellow jabbers and ex jabbers!

Just to confirm I remain consistent and this week even dropped to a new low of 9.5. Not intentionally. But maintaining will always swing a couple of pounds either way.

Yes, food noise is back, as I mentioned. But it is bearable and I just ignore it in the same way I used to ignore the “have a drink” voice I get as a recovering alcoholic.

NextPrimeMinister · 11/10/2024 17:44

Thanks for keeping us updated on your experience post MJ @FlappyFish.

Really interesting to see how it's going.

That's so good to hear!

When did you last have a jab?

CiderJabs · 11/10/2024 21:49

Jab day for me. I think this is my 5th 2.5. I have been feeling more hungry especially the day before jab day, but it's manageable. I've been stricter with protein and have had collagen / whey everyday, and am almost back to my usual activity levels.
Scales showed 9st 10.6 this morning which is my lowest ever. So fingers crossed it continues !

FlappyFish · 11/10/2024 23:27

@BlackFriYay it’s my third Friday without. Last jab was 20th September.

guestusername · 12/10/2024 09:02

Weigh in this morning shows 3lb down although I’m sure most of that is stress! They weren’t wrong when they said that buying a house is one of life’s most stressful events!

SW - 14.10
CW - 11.9.5
TW - 11.5

I was 14.12 before I started MJ so I’d been taking 11.12 as 3 stone, before remembering that I was 14.10 on the day I started MJ 😂 imagine the disappointment when I realised 🤣

ThirdStorm · 12/10/2024 09:25

Having started in late April, I reached my goal weight in mid August. I’ve since lost another 6lb! Inadvertently but I think I wanted it. The last 3 weeks I’ve maintained my weight within a pound which feels good. I’m still taking MJ (2.5mg which I’ve been on the entire time). I’m coming to the end of pen 5 and I’ve pushed out the doses to 10 days. I’ve not noticed any additional hunger yet. I was keto during weight loss and now trying to increase my carbs, I’m on about 80-100g per day now. I’ve not eaten any sugar since starting.

This has been quite the journey and it’s not over yet!

Moanranger · 12/10/2024 09:35

@ThirdStorm well don - great Also @guestusername With the support of this group, let’s hope we an beat the re-gain statistics.
onward….

KrankyKumquat · 12/10/2024 09:41

@Thirdstorm
That's really interesting. I'm hoping to begin titrating down to 2.5 from 10 in about a month, when i lose last half stone, and want to stay on (very) long term due to my age and family history of dementia among other things. I won't want to lose more after that, but obviously hoping low dose will be enough to stop me regaining which, from your experience, suggests it might be.
Are you having any difficulty being prescribed when you spread out each injection? I'll be booking a maintenance consultation with Oushk and will discuss this but wondering if they'll be happy to prescribe long term with each pen lasting over the 30 days, rather than ordering every month.

ThirdStorm · 12/10/2024 11:03

@KrankyKumquat i was with MedExpress so over ordered, I have 2 doses left of pen 5 and two pens in the fridge which expire in February. I’m forcing myself to be ready to stop. I’m nervous and whilst I’ve enjoyed the wide range of MJ benefits I don’t intend to be on it forever.

ObsidianTree · 12/10/2024 12:05

Happy Saturday all.

Sounds like you're doing well @FlappyFish.

KrankyKumquat · 12/10/2024 12:07

Ah I see @Thirdstorm - you're another who built up a stock! I have never quite managed that so dependent on the prescriber from the outset of maintenance but I'm sure it'll all work out OK in the end. Thanks x

RagzRebooted · 12/10/2024 12:08

Hi everyone, been AWOL for a few weeks but finally caught up. There are so many amazing successes that I can't tag you all, just huge well done to all of us!
Like many of you, the novelty has definitely worn off. I'm down 4 stone since starting in March and I'm now on 10mg a week (seem okay on it this time after the first few attempts made me feel awful). Food noise seems to be back, but the fullness and lack of hunger remain so I keep wanting food and then not being able to eat much! Also able to drink alcohol again, the wine aversion has certainly passed. I only have a few drinks at weekends though.

All my great promises to myself of joining the gym and making fancy healthy food have (yet again) failed to materialise. I had this grand idea that our big move (300 miles, 6 weeks ago) would somehow jumpstart a whole new me. Turns out, I'm still the old me in a different place... Life hasn't actually changed at all, just the background.

I am doing a class with my daughter that's like aerial yoga mixed with circus skills. It's hard work and very fun, but one session a week isn't going to transform me. However, it's expensive so I'm putting off joining gym or another class until the course finishes. At £12 a week each and it's 25 minutes away, it probably won't be something we continue with unfortunately. I'm now a lot closer (15 mins rather than 30) to a gym or pool, which I thought would make all the difference but really it's the leaving the house that I have a problem with! Still got teens at home that need feeding and lifts and things, or I'd just go after work.

As for MJ, I last ordered a pen in July and I've still got 2 unopened which I had hoped would see me through the last few stone as I can't order high doses after such a long time and can't really justify the cost at the moment anyway. I don't think it will though, just worked out that's 11 weeks of 10mg so I might have to go back down to 7.5 and start being more strict with the calories and meal planning (currently just eating whatever I cook for the kids).

Sorry for the really long post!

I think you've done it right to be honest, I bought 3 pens within a month and now I last ordered 3 months ago so I don't think anywhere will prescribe me more at this stage!

ObsidianTree · 12/10/2024 12:12

I'm down 1lb this week. I'm 11st 10lbs today. Officially below 25 BMI at 24.9. I'm going to try not to think about losing anymore. I think now is the time for me to try and not weight myself more than once a week. I've definitely got to the point where the weight isn't going down as fast as it was before, so there is really no need for me to weigh daily anymore.

I think I'll focus on diet and eating well and not so much thinking about losing weight. Still want to lose, but don't want to obsess about it anymore! Will try and move my obsession to diet and exercise!
