My naked body is pretty woeful, although not entirely because of the MJ, just life. But in clothes it looks a lot better! I can't afford any sort of surgery so I'll be living with what I have, and it's fit and healthy.

I hope that doesn't sound holier than thou. Good luck to anyone who can get things tweaked!

ObsidianTree · 08/10/2024 13:36

I'm so behind now I need to catch up!

Well done for all the great losses.

I also need to go through my old clothes and do a clear out. I did have a nosy at Vinted but didn't see anything I wanted to buy. Might have another look at some point.

I did go to Primark on the weekend and bought some bits. Decided I needed some hoodies and tracksuit bottoms. The colour I liked in hoodies only had size XL and 2XS left. I thought I would try on the 2XS to see if its close to fitting... And it bloody fits! What the hell! Still alien to me! I could probably lose a bit for it to fit a bit looser, but it looks fine. Madness! I obviously bought it and now will just wear it all the time! Obviously 🤣

I'm on my 2nd pen of 15mg and feeling ok on it. Don't get the same suppression as lower doses but it's ok. I don't know why 15mg doesn't seem to be working well for some of us. It feels like the will power MJ used to gave has now gone. Still feel full quickly, but the not fancying anything bad etc seems to have gone.

Just having a nosey on the Oushk FB page and noticed you can pick your courier, DPD or Royal Mail.

Interesting fun fact.

From reading on there, it seems DPD isn't great and sometimes doesn't get it delivered within the 24 hrs.

So… I’ve done something.

Let’s talk boobs. I have two deflated sacks and rippling and an odd slope where I have lost all volume up top.

In 10 days I have a consultation about a lift and implants.

They are manageable in a bra. But even then they’ve lost all shape. I’m honestly wearing a Marks first bra crop top in a 10.

It may be too soon. For the rest of my skin I know I can do a lot with building muscle tone. But nothing but surgery can help the boobs.

Ooh exciting! Let us know how you get on ☺️

Just popping in.

Well done everyone and I agree on not being happy with our bodies. I’m a stone under my wedding weight but I feel so much more flabby - I don’t think two children helped with that though. My bum has also disappeared!

I’m currently 10 stone 2 and my target was 10 stone 12. I’ve been maintaining that for the last few weeks and I’m on 10mg. Will drop to 7.5mg and see how I go but I’m willing to stay on it long term.

I’ve joined the gym and go once a week at the moment as I play netball two other evenings. I think weights is what I’m missing but it’s finding the time!

I feel guilty for people asking me how I’ve done it and I just say calorie counting (I’ve lost 7 stone nearly in total). But after reading some threads on how judgey people can be I don’t want to share! Only my husband knows (also now on it and lost 4 stone).

ObsidianTree · 08/10/2024 13:53

Re body's etc.

My boobs are still massive. Gone down in the back but same cup size. Not sure they will go down in cup size. I've always had big boobs. Currently in a 36G down from 40G. Think my pregnancies expanded my rib cage as I used to be 34G pre pregnancy. I also still have that CSect shelf tummy. Not sure if it will go down when I lose more weight, but realistically I won't expect a flat stomach. It's weird tho as I am probably lighter than I was pre pregnancy but still have a lot of weight in my belly. I suppose the flat butt balances it out! The flat butt is a bit depressing as now my belly is definitely still bigger than my butt!

OP posts:
ObsidianTree · 08/10/2024 13:56

@April88 sounds smiliar to how I've described my body! I also feel flabby and no butt! Also think two pregnancies means my body won't look quite right once slim. I've never lost all the weight after pregnancy before, so it is a shame to see that I probably won't look great even at goal weight.

April88 · 08/10/2024 14:00

Depressing isn’t it @ObsidianTree . But then I think how unhappy I was a year ago and I’d have loved to have been where I am today.

Also in clothes I’m pretty happy, so I just need to get lifting some weights to tone up!

Wonkypictureframe · 08/10/2024 14:03

Hey, the good side to having been fat my entire life is that I have no life what a flat stomach would look like!

Seriously it does mean I’m not mourning any past glories, which is liberating.

ObsidianTree · 08/10/2024 14:03

@April88 yes it's still great to be slimmer for sure. I look better in clothes for sure. I also will join the gym once at goal to try and do some toning!

OP posts:
ObsidianTree · 08/10/2024 14:04

@Wonkypictureframe to be fair I don't think I've ever had a completely flat stomach. Just something I would have liked to experience 🤣

@FlappyFish let us know how it goes! I will def be having a reduction and lift at some point (am 32G at the moment down from 38J). I’ve got 5 more years of school fees before I can do anything realistically. Gives me time to maintain the loss I guess.

FlappyFish · 08/10/2024 15:41

I will absolutely keep you all posted on boob news. :)

Moanranger · 08/10/2024 15:51

Re suppression - for me, this ebbs & flows, one week on 5mg, I will think it has really decreased, time to go up a dose, the following week, it will feel strong again; dose day +2, strong suppression, +4 weak, +6, strong again. I am on bonus dose of 5mg ATM, which was probably 0.8mg, so suppression is better. I am going up to 7mg on Thurs.
Re boob discussion, a foreign country to me, I have always been small & after 32lb loss, still in same bras, tho cups a bit loose. No surgery requirement; the rest of my body OTOH, looks like a 3-D topo map. But it’s tights & leotards for me. The fat loss is strange - on my shins I have lumps, pockets of fat. I guess it reduces unevenly. Maybe this will equalise over time.
And after minus 32 lbs, only 2 of my gym trainers have noticed to comment. And one retired medic I saw on holiday in August. I do think a few people I haven’t seen in awhile have sort of looked and paused, but not said anything. I think it is now considered impolite to comment on weight. I will see some friends at end of Oct I haven’t seen for awhile, they may say something.
At least this means I don’t have to explain myself.

chrispenrallt1 · 08/10/2024 18:34

I reached the magic 50lbs weight loss today. I started 23 rd May after following the early threads. I’ve gone from 13 stone 10 pounds to 10 stone 2 pounds. I have another 17 pounds to go. It’s very slow now, I have stayed on 7.5 mg and I have had no side effects at all

TitsInAbsentia · 08/10/2024 18:52

@FlappyFish totally fascinated about the boob lift! I don't want implants but I'd love a lift...I did my boob or bust measurement the other day and doing the lean forward measurement made me so sad - just to see them dangling there like peas in deflated balloons!

@KrankyKumquat cracking up at 'doing an elvis' 😂

I am struggling to get my protein in again especially when I'm eating out or at work. I need to concentrate!

Secretslimmer · 08/10/2024 18:55

I’ve lost track a little bit but do we have anyone on this thread who is no longer on MJ at all? Just wondering how getting on. I went down from 7.5 to 5 a couple of weeks back, hovering around target weight and thinking will stay on 5 for about 8 weeks more. But I got a bit nervous when started doing a bit of thinking about some big holidays next year! Current plan is to be off by Xmas tho. Enough of a stockpile that I don’t need to order any more. Yet mulling about having one in reserve ..

Think @FlappyFish went off MJ recently after achieving target - see her earlier posts in this thread

Oh yes! I thought there was one person, mind went blank on who. I was thinking there might be more by now. Can I ask @FlappyFish how long have you been off now, and has your weight kept roughly where you want it to be? I’m quite liking the light suppression (?) of dropping down but hoping I’m not unmoored by coming off it, when I do!

BlackFriYay · 09/10/2024 11:02

A while ago on the main thread I mentioned having some minor difficulty swallowing food and was pondering whether it was the MJ. I figured it likely was as it only began when I went up to 5mg (and has remained present all the way up to 10mg and then back down again)

I finally made a doctors appointment after some badgering from OH, who I thought was worrying needlessly, and I've been put on a 2 week wait for a camera down my throat to rule out a tumour/ cancer 🙁

I wasn't expecting that. I thought maybe worst case scenario they'd say it's probably silent reflux and wave me off with some omeprazole.

I'm flying out this weekend for a long anticipated trip so the timing is crap. I'm not going to be able to enjoy myself much now with this in the back of my mind.

Has anybody else had a touch of this since MJ? I'm still hoping it's that. I am prone to a very dry mouth and that seems more likely to be the problem than something like esophageal cancer, surely?

I can swallow, but it takes more effort than it otherwise would. Sometimes food gets a bit stuck at the back of my throat and needs a few gulps to go down. It moves down more slowly than pre MJ.. but isn't it supposed to?!

Ugh. What a worry.

Well done to all of you on your ongoing milestones and losses. It's nice reading some positive stuff which stops me from googljng!

Wonkypictureframe · 09/10/2024 11:17

How scary, @BlackFriYay. I'm pleased your GP is on it but it must be really worrying. It's not something I've experienced but I hope the test comes back with nothing. The slower moving gut is far further along the process - we shouldn't be aware of it as we eat.

FlappyFish · 09/10/2024 11:47

I am MJ free for two weeks now. @Secretslimmer

It isn’t easy. The residue has now left my system and the food noise is absolutely back. The last couple of days I have been properly hungry. I just sit with it. I keep telling myself it’s not real. Of course, that is a challenge as the compulsion to eat is there and the hunger hormones are like an itch that needs to be scratched.

This is the other challenge of exercise. Exercise makes you hungry. You don’t burn half as many calories as you want to eat back. 😂 I know I need to build muscle and a little yoga class won’t help with that.

I go up and down a couple of pounds. I am 9 stone 8 this morning. I ate late after said yoga class but it was either that or not eat.

Thanks for the update! Yea I am feeling quite braced for this, I do quite a bit of exercise, tho I haven’t quite got into the weights habit anywhere near often enough.

Appreciate hearing how it is on the other side!

I ordered from MedExpress yesterday and had an email from them saying they wanted an up to date photo. Not a problem, photo taken but absolutely nowhere to upload it as suggested in the email. I send them an email telling them I couldn’t find where to upload it late yesterday afternoon and think no more of it. This morning I had a dispatched email from them 🤔

CiderJabs · 09/10/2024 13:20

I was also asked for a photo by health express and took one straight away, uploaded with ease and order approved the next day. They sent a message saying they require a new photo every 6 months.

@BlackFriYay I've not had difficulty swallowing but I can totally relate to the fear. Been there and bought the cancer T shirt. Praying it's not in your case. Don't forget it could be a benign mass / tumour which can be easily removed with no further treatment. Keep us posted 😘
