I've stayed the same this week. Which is fair enough considering I lost 3 lbs previous week. Also I've had ttm this week so doesn't help. But happy with that as I know I'm getting closer and closer to goal now so the last bit will take longer to lose.

Can you not get them taken in?

I did think that but it’s quite spendy and they are really over a size too big now.

Buffypaws · 05/10/2024 11:42

@AgathaMystery I would - you might find a local on fb who will do it cheap. I have a neighbour who does it for extra cash. It’d be worth it I reckon - tailored to size and a size smaller you’d love them even more

Ok. I will ask a lady I know. I usually do my own clothes but jeans are too technical for me.

Happy Saturday everyone! I haven't been on for a while but love reading how everyone is doing, particularly with those starting the 'forever' phase of the journey...I'll get there, eventually!

I have avoided a lot of the weightloss chat to be honest because I'm trying to stay away from that dieting mindset that's been with me since about the age of 13 (a long time). Trying hard not to compare myself with others, I want to try to be as 'normal' as possible despite the mj. Been on this 7 months now and averaged 5lb a month which I'm quite happy with as lost almost nothing the first 6 weeks and had quite a lot of stall where I stayed on the same dosage for two months etc (wish I hadn't done that now, however I'm doing another 12.5!). That said losing at a slower rate has definitely not helped with the saggy bits as I'd hoped, it's all starting to look very crepe paper now 😂 I don't even know what weight I plan to go to, I'm hoping one day I'll just wake up and think yeah, this will do.

I had my first delivery from oushk which came on the date I'd asked (always a bonus when I'm not at home much) but it wasn't as cold/well wrapped as the ones from med express, guess that's not an issue now the weather is cooling down (and the layers are going on!).

Now...off to get rid of the big pile of too big clothes that's been lurking in the corner for the last month 😁

Femeia · 05/10/2024 13:03

Hi all

Just catching upas I've not been on for a while. Some amazing losses here, well done all!

I'm in the 'meh' camp too, I'm in another stall and finding it hard to get motivated. I'm eating well 90% of the time so there's no good explanation.

This morning I had a wardrobe clear out and put a load of size 20 clothes away for charity. That felt good!

Still debating what to do about maintenance- it feels a long way off even though I've lost 6 stone. This last 1.5 stone is taking forever

spamm · 05/10/2024 16:45

@Slimstar13 - well done. It feels great, and I bet you look fantastic.

I am sorry to hear so many are struggling with the meh feelings right now. I think I am doing ok - but maybe that's because I am dealing with other stuff in my life, and at least I feel a little in control with my diet and medication.

I knew I would get back on track once DS was back at Uni and I could focus a bit more. I am down nearly 5 lbs in the last 4 weeks, after a much slower loss over the summer. Also the 12.5 mg seems to be suiting me as long as I eat enough. I am now lower than I have been in 30+ years, which felt unobtainable in January. And my size 12 jeans are getting loose.

Thebaldprimadonna · 05/10/2024 18:59

Help me, wise women of Mumsnet MJ! I haven't lost weight for weeks now and am on 15mg. I have zero appetite suppression going on.

I am wondering whether to take a break for 30 days and then start again at 2.5. Any thoughts?

I have one more dose due to be taken tomorrow.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 05/10/2024 19:59

Been snacking a lot today, I'm so so hungry. Just realised I should have had my jab this morning! Might as well take it tomorrow now. It's worrying just how hungry I am when I'm looking to start reducing doses soon, with an aim to stop completely 😕.

@Slimstar13 well done, that's amazing! 🎉

I wouldn’t do that. Stick at it.

DragonflyRuby · 05/10/2024 20:33

I feel horrendous. My 6th month of MJ and inadvertently ended up having a 2 week break between jabs as I couldn’t afford the next one and then ZAVA were super slow.

My 10mg eventually arrived and I decided as it hadn’t been over the 2 week cut off, I’d do 5mg to be on the safe side. 48 hours later no effect and as I’d been on 10mg before I thought I’d do the second 5mg. 24 hours later and I woke up in the night with sulphur burps and diarrhoea and horrendous nausea which I’ve had all day. I feel so bad and I’m praying it won’t continue into tomorrow, the sulphur burps especially are awful.

I’ve not had any side effects since starting at the beginning of May but it clearly shows how much of an affect missing a couple of doses can have. If anyone has any tips on managing this please let me know!

I'd stick with it! How many weeks, and what were your losses the two weeks before that? You might just be evening out. Have you been more active/less active/eating more carbs/less protein? Is there anything you can identify as possible cause of a slow down?

Choux · 05/10/2024 21:38

@DragonflyRuby did you miss two doses or just one? How were you re side effects and sensitivity to it over the last few months?

The info says
'If you miss a dose of Mounjaro, take the missed dose as soon as possible within 4 days (96 hours) after the missed dose. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take your next dose on the regularly scheduled day. Do not take 2 doses of Mounjaro within 3 days of each other.'

So taking a full dose two weeks after the last dose (with just one dose missed) should have been ok. But taking two doses within 3 days is not advised. It seems odd you have had such a strong reaction though as they were each less than your previous dose. Could it be a reaction to something you have eaten - have you had anything high fat or rich?

I would say bland food and lots of liquids till symptoms ease. Take the day you did the second 5mg as your new injection day and take next dose 7 days after that. How much I would take would be based on how quickly my symptoms eased and if I was ready to suffer a bit again or needed to be cautious. I might risk 7.5mg. Otherwise 5mg.

I'm the same. I'm on 12.5mgs and haven't lost anything for absolutely weeks!

Not changed my eating habits and eating barely enough to keep a bird alive!

Friends are saying I've lost sooooo much weight but I've only lost two stone since March!!

Still got a stone/stone and a half to go 🤦🏼‍♀️

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 06/10/2024 09:11

@Slimstar13 So pleased to see your update - phenomenal!!! Well done!

@Thebaldprimadonna I wouldn't go back down to 2.5. Stick with it. Maybe have a couple of days of eating more than usual - sometimes after a stall, I'll have a whoosh of weight loss after eating more than I typically would. No idea what the science is behind that, or even if there is any, but worth a try?

I've now hit 52lb lost and am now six months in. 3.8lbs lost this week after a week long stall. I'm almost half way to my goal. Bought a pair of size 16 jeans the other day - proper rigid jeans with no stretch, so am v Happy about that! Mostly still an 18 though. (But it beats the 22-24 I was six months ago!)

NextPrimeMinister · 06/10/2024 09:16

@Thebaldprimadonna I'd stick at it. I've just looked at my loss history and saw I had 4 weeks where I only lost a pound.

It's really frustrating, especially as it makes it a very expensive pound to lose 😑!

I've noticed wl is getting much slower as I near normal BMI.

Flapearedknave · 06/10/2024 10:31

I need to get posting stuff on vinted.

So many clothes that no longer fit me, or that I'll just never wear again!

Just ordered my first 15mg, stayed on 12.5 for two months and wished I hadn't! Concerned about the 15 though considering what you've all experienced.

KrankyKumquat · 06/10/2024 10:49

I did a trip to the charity shop yesterday with 2 bin bags of clothes. The stuff had sat in the bedroom for two months, as I really struggled to let it go - some of it had hardly been worn as it was bought in the Spring, when I was at my fattest, but quickly became too big as I started MJ early May. So a combination of 'oh god, what a waste of money' and difficulty accepting I'll never be that big again. Anyway it's gone now and it feels like a positive step in letting go of my fat life.
I downloaded the Vinted app first, but saw that highstreet stuff was being sold for just a couple of quid and couldn't be arsed with all the phaff. Lazy I know but hopefully my stuff will give someone some pleasure and raise some cash for the local dog rescue.
OH picked up what looked like a brand new, wool type, black winter overcoat for a fiver. He's taking part in the Remembrance Day Parade in London in November (to mark 50 years since he joined up as a 16year old) so he at least will look smart as a carrot.

KeepingUndercover · 06/10/2024 10:57

@KrankyKumquat I need to do a charity shop run too, I've got stuff bagged up. Like you I thought about sticking it on Vinted but I really can't be bothered! I figure the charity shops need some of us to donate decent stuff so we're doing our bit.

@ihatecoffee @Thebaldprimadonna I found my family! Slow losers club unite. Been on 15mg for weeks and either stall or gain and then very slowly lose to pre-gain point. I don’t want to give up MJ though because it’s at least got me to two stone down and I enjoy the appetite suppression (and suppression of alcohol and other addictive behaviours). I’m just treating it like a very expensive gym subscription 😂

It does make it hard to read of people losing so much so quickly but it’s important to remember it’s a very individual journey. And everyone here on the OG thread has been so positive and lovely in hearing out my struggles.
