Omg so many people asking for advice on how to cheat in order to qualify and the advice is flowing in! Hold weights when on the scales, stick your stomach out, reduce your height by an inch or two, wear more than one pair of leggings. It's disgraceful.

What's that on?

I've seen it now. Looks like people are doing shady things to get it! But the person trying to get it is basically nearly BMI 30 at BMI 29.9. It they were to weigh in the evening with clothes on, they would be BMI 30. So I can see why they want it.

That thread is now deleted. And rightly so as I read a few of the posts of advice. But the person in question was apparently right in the cusp of qualifying so can see why she wanted it.

CiderJabs · 04/10/2024 11:48

I can see why she wanted. I was just gobsmacked at people giving advice to others on how to cheat. That's why this jab has such a bad reputation

The sun is finally shining where I live and I'm actually feeling almost warm.

Friday weigh-in after my 2nd week on 10mg. It's been a bit brutal appetite-wise, as it always is when I go up a dose, but I've lost 2.2lbs, so 5.2lbs in these 2 weeks. Now weighing 11.8, BMI dropped below 24, to 23.9 (is it my imagination, or does bmi fall faster at lower weights? The maths is too complicated for me to decide). 2nd 10mg pen is on it's way, and planning on this being my last before I move to maintenance with Oushk, with a new goal weight of 10st 13, just so I'm in the 10's!

Also, had a bit of a fright when, for some reason, I decided I was actually 5'8" rather than 5'9" and my bmi, metabolic age and fat% all jumped up massively. Made my OH immediately measure me, with strict instructions to make sure the ruler was absolutely level. After several recounts, and a bit of hysteria when he said 5'7", we settled on 5'8.5" and as everyone knows, you round up, not down so catastrophe averted 😅

For podcast fans, I've found a new one - Fat Science with a metabolic specialist, Dr Sarah Cooper (and a rather irritating other woman). Some good stuff on WLMs, diets and all things metabolic. She calls appetite suppression a 'side effect' and does not advocate calorie restriction for her patients on WLM which is an interesting different perspective.

Well done @KrankyKumquat you're beating me again 🤣 I think I'm going to be sts this week. This morning I got excited when the scales said I was 11st 7 twice in a row.. but then went back to 11st 11 for the next 4 tries! So must have been an accident!

That's funny about the height measurement 🤣 would be easier if you were 5'8 so I can just use you BMI to know what mine with me next 🤣 maybe I should go measure my height to confirm I'm sure I've been 5'8.5 before in my 20s but rounded down! But I'm in my 40s now so might have shrunk.

OP posts:
ObsidianTree · 04/10/2024 13:45

I just got my husband to measure me and I am 5'8.5. but not sure I want to round up to 5'9... but would prefer those BMI stats... But doesn't change my weight.. so will stick with being 5'8!

I was just thinking, maybe in fitting into size 12s because I've lost my arse 🤔

OP posts:
KrankyKumquat · 04/10/2024 14:09

Ha identical height! You can't input .5 into nhs bmi calculator, so you definitely need to round up! I'd decided I'd probably have shrunk, hence my decision to go to 5.8" from .9" but turns out I hadn't so win, win.
11.7 must have been, momentarily, very exciting 😀
You're definitely beating me on clothes sizes - still a sad size 16.

It would have been a big shock as it would have been 4lbs overnight! Did seem too good to be true!

Have you gone to M&S /next to try on clothes? I have size 16s that still fit me well, yet also a range of size 14s and 12s that all fit well! But saying that, I tend to go for stretchy skinny jeans! Actually I have a rigid pair of size 16 jeans from Next and tried them on yesterday and they wouldn't even button up! Clearly broken 😂

OP posts:
KrankyKumquat · 04/10/2024 14:27

My new 16s are M&S, non stretchy, but I didn't actually try 14s so maybe.... I think I was so excited to find the 16s sooo comfortable, I just sashayed to the till, swinging my hips and making sure the size label was visible to everyone in the queue 😀 . I really want some Levis but will have to travel to a stockist as wouldn't risk delivery - I imagine they're tight with sizing. That'll be my goal weight reward.

But you can use metric on the NHS website. 5ft 8.5in is 173.99cm. Am sure you won't mind rounding up to 174cm as that's a tiny increase.

Anyone got any experience of buying clothes from uniqlo? I've a discount and want to get a coat but as they don't use UK clothing sizes, it's really hard to get an idea of sizing and would like to avoid hassle of returning if I get it wrong. I'm 5'8 and size 16 but not sure if they run big or small on average.

I find their sizing a bit difficult to judge sometimes. I'm currently a biggish 16 bottom and a more standard top and have bought a pair of XL trousers and the tops I got in a large and they seem fine. I always like to try their stuff on though as I'm never entirely sure how its going to fit.

Wonkypictureframe · 04/10/2024 18:05

I’ve just been shopping in Uniqlo. I’ve discovered I fit a 29” waist in jeans (how???!) and am generally size 12, and I ended up with Large trousers but would have fit Medium better in other styles. On top I was S/XS but I have No Boobs.

AgathaMystery · 04/10/2024 18:58

I love Uniqlo but the sizing is basically a lucky dip.

I desperately need new jeans. My gorgeous Oliver Bonas ones are too big now so going on vinted. They don’t make them anymore and they are the best jeans I’ve ever had! Waaaaaaaa!

Wonkypictureframe · 04/10/2024 19:22

No chance of them in a smaller size on Vinted?

1lb shy of 7 stone lost is nothing short of incredible! You've absolutely smashed it 🙂
