@JanetSnakeholeMacklin
You're in good company judging from the last day's posts. I moved my injection day to Saturday a while back to get the worst effects at the weekend but it seems to go on to till Wednesday, not exactly nauseous but zero appetite and very lethargic.
Winter coming isn't helping for sure, time to restart the Vit D.
@Slimstar13
Although I'm planning on staying on it, I am looking forward to titrating down to regain some normality I hope. My main reason for this, beside weight, is evidence showing impact on dementia which my family is full of and I'm fast approaching the age where first signs were appearing. I don't feel I've got time to wait for years of clinical studies so gambling on MJ being the answer.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/10/2024 08:36

I've hit 5st 7lb loss today (34.7% body weight loss). Seems to be taking forever to get to 10st which will be bmi25.

Also fed up of dieting and over the last few weeks have gone back to eating like I did before MJ. There's no incentive to be good anymore when I can eat 3 massive takeaways a week plus 3 takeout lunches and still lose weight. I need to sort that out as once I go cold turkey it will need to be 1 or 2 per month.

Chuffing freezing all the time. I have a really cold house plus we're not on mains gas so have to be careful with the LPG gas as it's bloody expensive. It's not even feeling warm in the office these days. Others complain too so I can't work out if it's MJ/loss of fat to blame.

@ObsidianTree totally agree with you about the clothing. There's barely any difference and I think a lot are vanity sized. I bought some size 10 tops from Next a couple of months ago when I was over 11st and they fitted. I'd say really they were a 14. Haven't even worn them so they'll be enormous on me now. Back in the day when I was this size before but didn't have the lumps and bumps or shrunken boobs, I was never a size 10.

NCfor24 · 03/10/2024 08:44

I was talking about vanity sizing yesterday with a friend. My wedding dress 15 years ago was a size 12. I'm a size 12 today. No way would my wedding dress fit. I haven't tried it but I'd imagine a 3" gap to do the zip up.
I am a different shape too though due to age and pregnancies and the weight loss and loose skin, but even without all that there is a huge difference between a 12 today and back then.
I'm also still overweight. As a size 12 back in my 20s I was slim.

KrankyKumquat · 03/10/2024 09:02

@PissedOffNeighbour22
Wow, you've done well!
I think, however, you're the first person I've seen describe how they can eat like that and still lose weight! That's amazing, what dose are you on? Do you feel proper hungry, not get full, or suffer the consequences later? It's obviously working but genuinely surprised!

CiderJabs · 03/10/2024 09:22

Sorry to see so much 'meh' and lack of motivation. We need to keep each other in check and help everyone stay on top of it, otherwise we will find ourselves on a "regained all the weight after MJ" thread next year.

I do feel like I can enjoy food on 2.5 so I'm eating normally but focusing on smaller portions. I've kept up the protein and collagen daily, and am still having small lunches (will get the soup maker out soon as well).

I've had to rethink my gym routine as I've recently moved but I'm sort of back on it now and focusing on weights / core.

Still maintaining at 9.11-9.13 which I'm happy about. Feel nervous about going cold turkey but have resisted buying more pens so will carry on as I am until I run out in the new year.

My suppression is easing off now I’ve come down to 7.5mg, but still there. I’ve gone from really struggling to eat at all one or two days a week to being able to eat a vaguely normal but smallish-sized meal towards the end of the dose. And my taste for alcohol is sort of coming back - I now say yes to a glass on a Friday night.

KrankyKumquat · 03/10/2024 11:05

@Ciderjabs
You're right Cider! Due to the nature of this group, we've all been at this fair few months now, we've lost some of our newbie enthusiasm, and hit a bit of a wall - a lot of weight lost but still more to do but with a much slower rate of loss.
Gonna pull my pants up and remember how bloody fortunate I am to have this opportunity and be able to afford this amazing medication.
Birthday meal plan now - Tapas - small amounts of different things, shared plates, reasonably healthy, not silly money. Sorted.

Amen. We need to stay motivated…. Wahhhhh.

so. Weird thing has happened. I forgot to do my jab. I’m on 8mg and the suppression is such that I’m on day 9 & just haven’t needed to inject. Going to inject tonight but how wild is that?!

KrankyKumquat · 03/10/2024 11:21

@AgathaMystery
Very!
I still get a bit excited when Saturday jab day comes round. I quite like the ritual and the 'new week, new me' vibe😅

KeepingUndercover · 03/10/2024 11:22

I may be bored but I am losing fine. I had one week of staying the same but now back to a kilo to 1.5kg a week. A bit of plateauing would probably help me stem off questions!

I've also started doing a weights session and some strength training, get a bit more exercise in. I need to get back to going for a run too, I was doing couch to 5k but stalled a bit when I was feeling a bit run down.

BlackFriYay · 03/10/2024 11:24

We're a big bunch of losers aren't we! Well done everybody!

Just chiming in to say that I'm also feeling a bit bored, ditto having slacked on my daily protein drinks. I grab one when out where I can but I haven't had my morning one in about 2 weeks now. I'll take that as a kick up the bum to go and make one.

I dropped down to 7.5mg from 10mg after hitting my goal weight of 9 stone 3, but I was still losing weight despite not having much appetite suppression and eating plenty.

I've concluded it's down to the fact my new 'normal' is to walk a minimum of 10k steps daily and drink 2.5l of water, both of which I want to continue, so I'm going to up my calories a bit more. I'm not tracking religiously now but eat on average 1500cals a day.

I'm 8 stone 12lbs and a size 8 (I can even get into some 6's - mind blown)

I don't want to lose any more, I want to get back up to 9.3 which looked and felt right for me. I'm going to have to reduce to 5mg and just deal with the food noise I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/10/2024 11:25

@KrankyKumquat I've been on 10mg for months now and can tell I need to move up a dose but won't as my plan was always to stick at 10mg max.

I've been able to eat anything I want on all the doses and it's rare there's any consequences. But I'm getting worse and worse at moderating the regularity of the bad foods. There's a good probability I'll be on the 'got fat again after MJ' thread.

I've always had low willpower when it comes to food and the magic MJ willpower has reduced rapidly over the last few weeks. I'm more hungry now than a few weeks ago and I'm snacking again, but the weight does slowly keep going down. I was doing a bit of exercise but that's tailed off now so I need to re-motivate myself.

I'm not looking forward to the hunger coming back fully and those awful constant thoughts of food when I start reducing my dose. I left it an extra day last week and I was ravenous!

AgathaMystery · 03/10/2024 12:00

God, also, one more whine from me. I am ABSOLUTELY SICK TO DEATH of people doing the ‘omg you e lost so much weight’ double take. It’s awkward now. I hate it.

ObsidianTree · 03/10/2024 12:03

I just had my phone call with Hira about maintenance. She said that as I have pens still I can hold off going onto the maintenance plan and wait until end of Nov. She said give them a call end of Nov and they can move me onto the plan where I stay on the same dose. Then when I've used up my spare pens can go onto the plan where I stay on the same dose. So pretty cool that she said don't waste money going onto the plan now etc.

So she will put on my notes that I will be calling back end of Nov etc, so I am happy with that. Will keep losing until that point and won't matter if my BMI goes below 25 etc.

Didn't end up being a video call as it didnt work. So was a phone call in the end.

I'm starting to dread seeing people because I don't want to be analysed and quizzed on it!

That's really good news and a great plan @ObsidianTree
I remember months back, telling people about Oushk before many had heard of them or had concerns. I described Hira as very 'pragmatic' so I'm glad she's working with you in this way.

Right?! Jesus Christ I absolutely have the dreads. I saw a colleague I haven’t seen in a year or so this morning and she was aghast. In a good way but god it felt awks.

Going to share this as it is interesting to see how far so many of us have come and how weight struggles have been lifelong for most of us.

I have lost 108lb in the last 9 years, am still not at target and it has been a far from linear journey. Thank you to these threads for pushing me to start and keeping me going it’s changed my life. I am going to get to target and this is the first time in my adult life I know that is true.

from my weight tracking it may be obvious when I started MJ 😂

I'm feeling chippy today, did a mid week weigh in and have dropped another 2lb so now bang on 4 stone weightloss. Madness.

5lb to go to hit target. (Which I'd readjusted from 10 stone).

Yes from hearing about her I felt she would be understanding.

Weirdly though, she said I'm the first person she's come across with this situation. (Spare pens etc). I thought that a lot of us on here were in the same situation as me and were going to Hira with the same plan! Unless everyone else chickened out and didn't mention their spare pens 🤣

Well done ☺️ amazing progress.

Re the clothing. I was thinking it's vanity sizing, but have just gone and compared some of my jeans and I think there is just hardly anything in the smaller sizes. I was convinced that my 16s from a few years back were the same size as the 14s/12s that I have recently bought, but there is a slight difference. Maybe a CM or two each size up.

I was thinking back to when I was last slimish. I got down to 11st 7lbs in my mid 20s by doing the meal replacement shake diet. Back then I don't think I got lower than a size 14 but still think back then I was still mainly in a 16. That was nearly 20 years ago. So I think back then clothes were smaller and sized bigger than they are now.

I have attached a pic of the jeans comparison. The back 2 are size 16 and the front 2 are size 12s. So not too much in them.

I have 4 whole pens in the fridge. 250mg total. I am now on Operation Guzzle. I just took the bonus dose from a 15mg pen tonight and now need to use an entire 15mg pen by the end of October and then an entire 12.5mg pen by the end of November. Then I can slow down a bit.

I haven't gone to Oushk. I bought my last pen from the Family Chemist.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/10/2024 22:43

@ObsidianTree there's surprisingly little difference in those sizes!

Interesting that Oushk are happy to wait for you to finish your pens before moving onto your maintenance plan.

KrankyKumquat · 04/10/2024 10:21

Anyone got any experience of buying clothes from uniqlo? I've a discount and want to get a coat but as they don't use UK clothing sizes, it's really hard to get an idea of sizing and would like to avoid hassle of returning if I get it wrong. I'm 5'8 and size 16 but not sure if they run big or small on average.
