Why would there be an anti jab crew.

I think slimming world is basically a con but I’m not going around telling people they shouldn’t do it if it works for them

It’s definitely a con.

KeepingUndercover · 27/09/2024 15:09

Let's face it, however you're trying to lose weight there will be someone on the internet waiting to tell you that you're wrong.

Wonkypictureframe · 27/09/2024 17:05

Slimming World’s business model is that it doesn’t actually work. Victoria Wood made an excellent documentary years ago about the weight loss industry and all the commercial weight loss programmes are predicated on most people needing to use them over and over again.

Someone on Reddit on the retatruide trial had posted about it.

Link below for any interested. I've added a screenshot about something quite interesting. Retatruide addition that Mounjaro doesn't have is glucagon. Apparently it actually causes ketosis and burns fat! Amazing!

Obviously too late for us, but so interesting.

It’s the first week of no jab. I’ve taken it on a Friday for months now and, whilst I still have it in my system, it feels a bit novel now.

There was a lady on the news earlier who got fake Ozempic and ended up in hospital as it was just insulin. She’d lost weight and stopped and I assume couldn’t get more as she was below BMI just based on the footage of her.

Whilst I wanted to judge I thought well, how many of us would have been faced with that before the maintenance doses? If something is working for you then you will perhaps want to keep going as I know folks are here. You look for ways to get something that isn’t legit.

Thankfully she is ok. But it’s another of those scare stories on the jabs.

Hello all, sorry I've been useless I haven't been on here for about 2 weeks so I will catch up tonight and apologise in advance if what I'm about to say was already discussed at length 10 days ago Blush

For my fellow maintenance ladies who are worried about moving prescribers or being completely cut off with a lower BMI I took the advice of contacting Oushk. I booked a £5 consultation with Hira where I explained my goals (basically want to loose 3 more pounds then not go cold turkey) and that medexpress have completely cut me off due to now being under 23.5 (I did contact medexpress to confirm if that was the case before contacting Oushk, and they confirmed they wouldn't prescribe me anymore). Long story short I've joined the taper maintenance plan, I ordered last night, cheaper than medexpress as they give you 15% off plus free P&P, you can schedule when you want it delivered and they won't cut you off after 2 years either. You can move up or down strengths. I had to send a photo and proof I'm already on MJ. It was approved this morning. Hope that helps someone who is worried like I was.

Thanks for this, I've been wondering where to go next and might move over to them. I've asked med express if they'll give me a code to price match family chemist (ie not a credit for the next order, I want the discount now!) and if they say no I'm off...been with them since April and they've been great no issues with cold chain etc but it's getting gritty at the top range of the doseage!

TitsInAbsentia · 28/09/2024 00:04

Oh...and now I WANT RENPHO SCALES!! I'm trying so hard not to have scales at home, I'd be on them all the time 😂

ObsidianTree · 28/09/2024 07:27

Morning,

Happy Saturday everyone.

I've lost 3lbs this week! 11st 11lbs! Surprised! Especially after I kept bitching about how useless the 15mg is 🤣 still don't think it's been great for suppression, but must be doing something!

Thought I would add my stats. Look how green and amber that all is! BMI officially 25 on the dot.

Also thought I would show my body age. Currently I am 42 and it's showing as 43. It started as 48 in March of the year. It's gone down by a year each month since June. So hopefully in October I should hit my real age!

Also, forgot to say, since starting dieting in Jan (then moving onto MJ) I have today officially lost 80lbs! How mad is that! That's 5st 10lbs! Obv not all on MJ alone, but most of it is.

It would be cool to get to 100lb loss! I think thats 10st 5lbs which is possible! Maybe I'll aim for that! Lol

Bloody well done, Obsidian! That really is brilliant 👏

It's really satisfying seeing the age come down on the scales isn't it? When I started out I was something like 8 or 9 years above mine too. Now, like you, I'm only a year above (and counting!)

It's a shame the producers of these Skinny Jab programs don't come here for their data as what this medication has done for us lot is just incredible 🙂

Stickthatupyourdojo · 28/09/2024 07:59

That's incredible @ObsidianTree well done!

ObsidianTree · 28/09/2024 08:04

Sorry I'm filling the thread this morning! One more things... I'll definitely have to switch to the maintenance plan with oushk now. I will book a meeting next week when I get paid. Going to see if I can push the start until Nov so I only have to pay from then. As I just got a pen delivered from Oushk, so hopefully I won't have to start the maintenance plan until I've used it.

I plan to go onto the £20 plan so I can use my stash of pens. I'll do 2 more months of 15mg, possibly buy a 12.5mg to taper down as I don't have one, then will use my 2x 10mg and 7.5mg to titrate down. Then move to Oushk plan where you stay on one dose. I'm thinking staying on the 10mg dose. But will possibly go down to 5mg, will see how I feel on the 7.5mg. My stash will take me to March or April, depending on if I buy a 12.5mg pen.

Thank you ☺️ well done for your age going down too 😊

Yes it's crazy how skewed the media is! I was reading something from dailymail about it today. (I shouldn't click on their articles really! Rate inducing!) Apparently 4 people have died from taking it! Yet they didn't actually talk about that in the article! It's ridiculous! Kate moss niece or something took it and ending up sick... Errr she is a model so obviously shouldn't be on it. And apparently nigella doesn't like the sound of it as it makes you stop thinking of food! Err ok then! Great reporting dailymail!

I am bang on 10 stone this morning!

So have lost 3st 12lbs. Am delighted. Off out for lunch with a friend I've not seen for 3 months. I've always been the fat friend, so it could go either way 😅

Ideally, I'd like to go to 9 7, as I'd be in the middle of my ideal bmi. My bmi has dropped to 24.8, so I'm pleased I swapped to Oushk when I did, earlier this week.

ObsidianTree · 28/09/2024 08:41

Well done @NextPrimeMinister . Enjoy your lunch out ☺️

Decided to just book my consultation with Oushk. My BMI is 25 now so might as well get the ball rolling with maintenance ☺️

morning all and well done losers! I’m having my maintenance consultation tomorrow and will let you know costings etc. will be interesting to compare. I’m not quite at maintenance yet. I’ve got 10kg to go. Is it weird that I’m quite happy with how I look?

FlappyFish · 28/09/2024 09:05

@ObsidianTree so bloody happy for you. Fill the thread up all you like!

@NextPrimeMinister enjoy lunch and no doubt the wide eyed “who is this?”

ObsidianTree · 28/09/2024 09:16

@AgathaMystery that's great that you're happy with how you look 😊 I can't say I'm there yet, but hopefully soon once the belly goes down a bit more!

@ObsidianTree so well done! Those greens and ambers look brilliant.

@NextPrimeMinister enjoy that lunch, and the double take!

KrankyKumquat · 28/09/2024 09:31

Am I the only one one who races to catch up with Saturday posts as they always seem so bloody brilliant?

@ObsidianTree I lost 3 lbs aswell and now 11st 11lb too. That's my 50lbs milestone hit. As I hoped, the increase to 10mg seems to have jolted my body into shedding weight again after a few weeks of very slow progress.

Went to a C&W charity do last night and wore new, non-stretchy, size 16 jeans and a tucked in check shirt! And I danced, wiggling my arse around like a proper skinny bird and all done completely sober.

I wish, however, I could show one of you the inner top of my thighs and get some advice. All of a sudden, and i mean in the last couple of weeks, they look like cold rice pudding, puckered and really odd. I've been really lucky so far and not noticed an issue with loose skin, etc. Is that what this is? They looks worse than they did prior to losing weight. However, am not letting this spoil good mood.

Wonkypictureframe · 28/09/2024 09:38

Mine look like that, @KrankyKumquat. They are my only body woe as my upper arms have behaved quite well and my tummy is a disaster zone from way back so I’ve never expected a bikini body.

I love the idea of you at the party! I’ve also had a thrill at tucking in. And wearing shorter things on top and not feeling I have to hide my whole mid-section.

I am feeling fat today though - all my clothes look wrong on me (way too big or frumpy). I’m seeing a friend next weekend who has no idea I’ve been losing weight and I’ve also always been the fat friend so I’d love to look great but she is always so effortlessly cool and I am struggling to find and afford new things that feel age appropriate but still stylish and not ageing.

ObsidianTree · 28/09/2024 09:45

@KrankyKumquat well done 😊 we are losing weight in the same line! Lol

I have also noticed some weirdness with my upper thigh. Stretch marks appearing that I hadn't noticed before or are now more prominent. Also seems a bit looser. I fear my upper thighs may well go saggy the more I lose. But oh well.

OP posts:
KrankyKumquat · 28/09/2024 09:51

@Wonkypictureframe
Thanks Wonky, I'm glad it's not just me. It's only my thighs too, arms are great, it's very odd. It's like fat has gone in chunks isn't it? Maybe they'll even out a bit as weight comes down further.
Sorry you're feeling a bit meh. But treating yourself to something new is, I think, a priority for you this week - you need to make the most of all your hard work. Without knowing enough about you to really help, I'm gonna recommend a trip to M&S and a try on session. They've got a huge range of different cuts of jeans for example which can look incredibly stylish - I braved a pair of flared ones, which with a pair of white trainers with a bit of a platform sole, look more than OK and I'm 58.

Wonkypictureframe · 28/09/2024 09:56

@KrankyKumquat I went shopping yesterday and managed to buy a bag!

I’ve got jeans and I live in jeans and t shirt and jumper most of the time, and have enough of those now that look OK for every day. But for going out I want something that I feel fab in and I just don’t even know what that is! I don’t think M&S will be it - I don’t really find their clothes very inspiring for me. But I can’t afford anything much more interesting. I look at Vinted often but the choice overwhelms me and I fail to commit.
