@choux I was really interested to read your post about maintenance. Congratulations on your achievement so far. I will be following your journey. I have one stone 5 pounds to lose but already planning for maintenance. Not a big loser but happy with realistic expectation of between 1 and 2 pounds a week. I must look at The Family Chemist to see prices. At the moment I am on my first 5 mg, week 5 in total on MJ. Not sure if I will go up to 7 5 next.

ThirdStorm · 24/09/2024 18:29

@KrankyKumquat im 5’9, My original goal was 12st (BMI 25.1) but 11st 8lb feels good and I want to be a size 14. I’d like my waist to be a little smaller so maybe another few lb but not much. I want to be realistic and reach a size that I can maintain.

Choux · 24/09/2024 18:40

@KrankyKumquat @Azuresky68 my goal weight is 140lbs which would give me a BMI of 23.5. It's what I weighted at the start of 2011 but I am sure this time I will be a flabby version of 140lbs. I am upping my exercise to try and convert some fat to muscle to help with metabolism and lose skin.

So I have another 12 or so pounds to go. My scales' batteries have died and I don't have spare ones so I don't know exactly what I weigh today! I ordered the Renpho scales at the weekend so might just wait for them to arrive and assume they weigh the same.

The loss is achingly slow now but a 1lb loss = 0.2 reduction in BMI so BMI still tracking steadily down. Can't wait to get to 149.9lbs as that is a HEALTHY BMI. I need my new scales!

My Family Chemist order has now been approved so I am on my 5th supplier in 7 months. Loyal I am not!

Choux · 24/09/2024 18:40

@KrankyKumquat I am 5' 5" and aiming for 23.5.

NextPrimeMinister · 24/09/2024 18:54

I need some help please! I have had my Oushk consultation and ready to order. But how do I do it? From my account or do I go via another route. I can't seem to see anything to click on apart from an initial consultation button.

KrankyKumquat · 24/09/2024 16:53

@ObsidianTree and anyone in similar position...
Hope you don't mind me asking, but wondering what your goal weight is? I remember that we're both tall and similar bmi/weight loss recently, although I'm a fair bit older i think. I'm in a quandary as I've just started first 10mg pen (it's working fine, no SEs) and I don't have a stockpile. Not sure whether to order another 10 or a 12.5 by the end of the month from Oushk with the current 25% off, or switch now to a maintenance plan - dithering because I really don't know what a realistic goal should be as it's many years since i was 11st something (currently 11.12, bmi 24.5 and still a bit of a flabby size 16). If someone other than my partner knew I was on it, I'd ask them what they thought! Another stone maybe? BMI 23? Another 2/3 months till maintenance? I'm already with Oushk so don't need to worry re switching. Thank you!

Hey, just the mention, the Oushk offer is £25 off, not 25% off. So think that makes the 12.5mg still quite pricey.

I think I want to aim for 10st. That's a BMI of 21 ish. I think tho I will assess when I lose each 1/2 a stone to see if I want to still go for 10st. I'll definitely at least aim for BMI 23 as that's what I need to be to be healthy BMI for my ethnicity. Think that's about 11st dead.

I think if 10mg is working, go for that for cost reasons. Oshik charge £210 for 12.5mg which is £30 more than 10mg. When I move over to a maintenance plan, I plan to stick to 10mg eventually due to the price.

KrankyKumquat · 24/09/2024 19:18

@Thirdstorm Your stats are very similar to mine. I too was aiming for 12st and healthy bmi but now I'm here, I'm still a size 16 so a bit disappointed and thinking, like @choux,maybe 23.5 would be OK. So about another 12lbs, definitely at least 1 more pen, and now I'm only losing about a lb a week, several weeks to go. I'll go for the 12.5 as i can always reduce clicks.
Note to self: stop being so bloody impatient.

Hope you all don’t mind me posting here, I did post on the April thread but didn’t actually start till May.

nice to see some of the old familiar names from back then and great to hear how well you’re all doing! I’m a slow loser so not near goal yet but losses are speeding up a bit now I’m on 10mg so will keep plodding on.

I’ve popped in here as wondering if any of you long timers stuck with med express for several months and if so have they ever asked you to retake/resend photos? Reason for asking is I’m rubbish at taking selfies at the best of times and my full length mirror is in a really awkward place - so if I need to faff round getting an ‘acceptable’ (to them) photo I’d like to be prepared 😊I also need to try and measure my height properly as did a bit of a best guess when I signed up, though assume they still don’t ask for any proof of that?

KrankyKumquat · 24/09/2024 19:24

@ObsidianTree
Sorry, our posts overlapped! Thanks for the info re pricing, I'd got that wrong and has helped me decide on another 10mg. I'm unclear as to how much additional benefit you really get from higher price/higher dose when you're in the home straight and losing so slowly either way.

I've been with MedExpress for several months whilst also being with Zava for two of them and haven't been asked for new pictures 🙂

KrankyKumquat · 24/09/2024 20:09

@NextPrimeMinister
You'll still need to do the on-line consultation which is just an info form which you fill in everytime you order (but on subsequent orders you can skip the photos bit). So log in, go to conditions at the bottom of the page, choose weight loss, answer the questions, upload photos, etc. At the end, you choose your dose.

KrankyKumquat · 24/09/2024 20:29

Just seen on reddit that someone put in a repeat request for MJ with Medexpress and their doctor was asked to provide medical records in the notification letter. GP refused to do so as they hadn't had consent (nor payment from the patient presumably) so no prescription issued. Following on from the post earlier, from someone with Juniper being asked to provide GP evidence of bmi and waist measurement, seems like rules are suddenly being very significantly tightened up. GPs are gonna be very unhappy if they suddenly get innundated with stuff like this, I'd have thought.

imnottoofussed · 24/09/2024 21:09

Is that on the uk Reddit I can't see it.

I've just reordered with MedExpress yesterday, been with them from the start in April. Prescription approved pretty much immediately and it's out for delivery. So doesn't look like they've asked my go for anything

NextPrimeMinister · 24/09/2024 21:17

@KrankyKumquat , I'll give it a go.

Soukmyfalafel · 24/09/2024 21:50

Hello all. I've been meaning to post for ages. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. I've been off MJ for quite a few weeks now. I'm definitely hungrier and it's hard! I did titrate down and kept on losing even on the small dose but have gained a couple of pounds back, which I expected as I did over shoot my goal by a few pounds.

I am working very hard to cut out all UPFs and make all food from scratch but this is leading to a bread consumption issue! It may be additive free but there are lots of calories. I'm trying to keep to my MJ style of eating of protein and veg for breakfast, salad or soup lunch and a smaller portion of regular dinner. It is hard as on maintenance calories as I can only have an extra 500 cals a day to my MJ allowance and that really isn't much. I do eat a lot of veg and fruit still though.

I'm running again, the whole family have took it up now, which is great but it makes me so bloody hungry! I'm not confident of keeping the weight off, but I will try and at least gain it as slow as possible. It's good to know MJ is there if I do need it again.

What is this talk of maintenance plans and paying £20 to hold your supplier? I've been off MJ for a while, so don't think I can access it now? I do have a spare pen, but want to save it as long as I can before it expires. I'm hoping I will never need it.

Has anyone found it hard coming off completely? I haven't weighed myself for a few days and have period bloat, so I'm scared to get on them now. :)

I had to supply a new photo and id with my last Medexpress order. Took a quick full length snapshot, not great, but they accepted it. Think it was about 22 weeks on MJ with the same supplier. Really quick to approve once I'd sent them.

imnottoofussed · 24/09/2024 22:09

That's interesting I'm on week 24 with MedExpress too and not been asked for anything yet

Morning 😊 I joined the 11s club today 😊 11st 13lbs.

😁😁😁😁

Congratulations @ObsidianTree !

Has anyone bought the 4mm needles before? I want to buy a box of 100 or something so I know I've got enough - especially as I had a dud needle last week. Which type/size do you get, does anyone know? I see chemist 4 u sell a few types. Is 32g 4mm okay?

Sorry maintenance is turning out to be hard 😞

Did you factor in the exercise you were doing when working out your daily calories?

Hope things start to settle soon

Oh wow. I didn't have any of this with my order last week thankfully. I won't be buying any more pens now as I have enough medication to last until the new year.

As if GP's have the time to involve themselves in this, there must be thousands of us on it. I understand the need for the checks but what a faff that would be.

ObsidianTree · 25/09/2024 08:06

@FlappyFish forgot to reply! I am feeling good! But mainly just spurred on to get to my next goal of 11st 10lbs which is BMI 25, then 11st 7lbs which is the lowest weight I got to when I did meal replacement shakes in my 20s. Think that's also my lowest weight since my teens!
