Another issue with taking 8 doses from a pen is that your prescriber may makexuou go back to the 2.5mgvpen next time anyway as there would be such a long gap between orders .

As for the bonus dose - I'm not sure what happened, are you sure you drew all the liquid up? I've never heard of anyone being left such a small amount - even weirder since you haven't been priming. I always prime and was left with 0.7mls

CarrotTail · 05/09/2024 22:41

DragonflyRuby · 05/09/2024 08:49

Oh and I wanted to ask has anyone exercised excessive/easy bruising on MJ? My arms, legs and back are covered and I’m not sure if it’s a side effect of the MJ or maybe low iron or something similar. I have had phases of easy bruising in the past so thinking it’s probably not connected but wondered about others experience?

@DragonflyRuby yes to the bruises!! I’m bruising so easily it’s crazy. I picked up my dog the other day and he was a bit excited and was kicking around (foxes in neighbours garden 🙄).... a few hours later I had loads of bruising up my arms. I also wasn’t sure if it was MJ related or something else! Be interested to hear if anyone else experiencing this?

MountKilimounjaro · 06/09/2024 05:10

@Pinkyp22 that sounds really odd. I prime every time I use my pen and always have a full fifth bonus dose plus a tiny bit extra left over.

@SammySays it is indeed expensive but you'll find that you spend a lot less on food which helps (and if you drank before you'll have even bigger savings). If you can take the fifth bonus dose, that also helps eek things out. If the dose gets less effective after 30 days it would be a false economy anyway...or worse you could get ill.

I'm struggling in a small stall at the moment, haven't really lost anything since mid August. I'm trying to stay positive. I've lost 3 stone 3lb so far which is an extraordinary amount, my clothes fit better, I feel better, I look better.

My pattern on MJ has been stall lose stall lose the whole way but this feels more stubborn somehow.

I'm staying positive and it's really great being able to come here and hear about other people's successes and struggles. I feel less alone so thank you everyone for being so supportive. It makes a difference.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 06/09/2024 06:01

I've had such a good week, calorie deficit, plenty of movement, and I haven't lost an ounce. I KNOW I'm close to goal and it's going to slow down, but it is so demotivating. 😭

Pinkyp22 · 06/09/2024 06:08

@Ifyounevergiveup
I managed to get 0.7 out of my last pen. Strange. I didn't want to count clicks incase I mess up the pen.

I found it odd too @MountKilimounjaro

I’m a lurker, but need some advice. Been doing this since April, spent 3 months (June July and August) on 7.5 as it worked perfectly and I was losing steadily, but this week I’ve taken my first 10mg dose and I’m really regretting it. I have had morning nausea for all levels, but since taking my first 10mg on Monday afternoon I’ve been nauseous none stop and last night spent the night vomiting. I hadn’t eaten that much yesterday because of the nausea (1 slice of wholemeal toast with peanut butter for breakfast, v small bowl of mushroom and lentil soup for lunch and some prawns and tomatoes late afternoon). I couldn’t face anything else later.
i think I should go back down to 7.5, afterall it was working (losing 1-2lbs every week). I’m not sure what possessed me to move up. (Well, I think I wanted to speed things up a little as I have a big event end of October that I’m aiming for.

any advice? Thanks so much. I really appreciate these threads even though I don’t always take part 😊

@Slimstar13 amazing! Congratulations! This really is a miracle drug isn’t it?

NippyCrab · 06/09/2024 08:09

Omg amazing losses this morning, congratulations 🎊 everyone xxxx

Fromthesidelines · 06/09/2024 08:16

Congratulations @GlueNoGlue @Slimstar13 and all those with such great losses. Commiserations to those in stalls - we've all been there and it does get going again eventually.

I'm looking for advice/experience from all you lovely people.

I've moved up the doses according to schedule with a bridging bonus dose. I've been lucky enough to have minimal side effects and my losses have been averaging 1 to 2 lbs a week, which is fine. But on the 7.5 I stalled for quite a while and, especially the 4th week, I felt a lot of hunger. Not the sort that you feel before a meal and which I quite like but the brain telling you you're starving and should eat NOW sort. So I got 8ml out for the bonus and went up to 10 Sunday night. OMG the suppression! I've had to force myself to eat and could barely even do that on Sunday. Still suppression today 5 days on. While this is great for losing, it doesn't feel healthy.

So - shoukd I carry on assuming suppression will wane? Delay the next dose by a day to give it a chance to wear off a bit and have maybe a day or two of healthy eating? Count clicks and go back to 7.5?

Thanks

MountKilimounjaro · 06/09/2024 08:22

@GlueNoGlue and @Slimstar13 amazing work!!! Congratulations. I hope you're enjoying your incredible success.

@Uglyducklingswan oof, you poor thing. A lot of us have been through the vomiting phase. Not fun.

If 7.5mg was working then I'd probably say your plan to go back down makes sense. You can count the clicks on the pen you have so that it's not wasted.

Hope you feel better soon, you might want to grab some electrolytes to help you recover.

Well done, that is amazing.

I am on week 9 today, with a starting weight 3kg less than yours, when I exclude my first week "woosshh" I am averaging a loss of about 1kg a week so slower than you but still its so insperational to see someone who has had the sucess you have. Do you mind me asking what calories target you are using (and if you have changed it as you lost)

Is anyone else noticing how much more they are feeling the cold when they don’t have multiple kgs wrapping them like a blanket?

Yes it's a common complaint! Yesterday I had an ooodie and blanket on. It doesn't get better either (17 weeks in) and apparently something to do with the action of the med rather than losing fat insulation.

Fromthesidelines · 06/09/2024 08:59

Thanks @Slimstar13 Sounds like I should try and persevere with 10. I'll see how I'm feeling Sunday before deciding whether to take a lower dose. My worry is that I want to get into a sustainable way of eating for when I stop mj and this week has not been that!

Has anyone received a 15mg pen recently and was the expiry date October?

yes, I did, and yes, October, unfortunately

also same with 12.5 mg

YES!

My family think I've gone mad. I'm a fan on, windows open in winter gal. We joke that I'm made to herd sheep on windy hills because I am always just so hot all of the time I need a breeze and cool temperature but now if I catch a bit of shade I'm shivering and need to put a cardigan on.

Same! It's actually quite nice to be able to wear warm clothes without sweating.

I'm a surfer and get regular bruises. Have noticed no more than prior to MJ.
