Week 12 and my first gain 😞. 1.2lbs on so not a major amount, but haven't changed anything or over eaten. Only thing that's more than likely caused it is that is hormones and bloating. Since changing my coil my periods have been all over the place, and I've felt heavy.

Fingers crossed it passes 🤞

Same for me (week 13). I seem to have gained 1.5kg overnight 🙄but I haven't over eaten or anything either. Have to assume it's hormonal or similar but it's a bit miserable. Hopefully it will disappear as quickly as it arrived.

gimmemounjaro · 10/10/2024 13:12

Same here - I have just done jab no.13 and probably looking at a small gain this week (weigh day is tomorrow). I guess it's to be expected every now and then, I'll keep on keeping on for now.

I have upped my strength training lately, so trying to convince myself it's down to gaining a load of muscle 🤪

I stayed on 7.5ml for this new pen, the first time I haven't moved up a dose, so I hope that doesn't turn out to have been a bad idea 😬

Wishthiswasntmypost · 10/10/2024 20:19

I think that's when I had my gain @ACEwards I'm nervous it will happen again despite still choosing to eat less than everyone I eat with and no alcohol at all.

Ilovethewild · 11/10/2024 08:44

I’ve made it under 100kg, yeah!

I feel like I have lost the excess I put on over the last 18months (been a stressful time).

sw 118
cw 99.4

loss this week 2.3kg which has been better than most weeks as slowed to 1kg or less each week.

i have been ill for 2 days so suspect that helped with loss this week.

Jfw82 · 12/10/2024 09:04

NSV comfortably(!) into size 16 jeans 👖 barely a trace of a muffin top either Grin next mini goal is 2.5lbs away (both under 200lbs and under 90kg) A good start to the weekend !

MzHz · 12/10/2024 11:47

I’m now week2 of 10mg and I agree, the side effects seem to be in the background more than before. Ok so I’d like to be a little looser in the poo dept, but it’s nothing like as bad as it was in the beginning.

been travelling for work recently so it’s harder to stay on track, as late dinners, bigger lunches etc, but I’m home for a bit now so should get back into a routine. Keeping up the water intake is still hard, especially when it’s cold. Have bought loads of herbal teas and soups

sw: 101
cw: 88

am exercising more gym 2x a week and swimming another 2x a week. Feeling stronger and better in my skin than I have done in years

MzHz · 12/10/2024 11:51

My NSV - of sorts - is that one of my previously way too tight trousers is now a bit baggy and I think it won’t be long before I have to get rid of them and buy smaller jeans

they are a big 16, but the smaller 16 jeans I have are now super comfortable and it won’t be long before they need replacing too!

Bamboozled5 · 12/10/2024 15:40

I've struggled with side effects all through. Increasing by 0.25 a week, I've reached 4.5mg now since mid July!! Still it's definitely working. 16kg down! Got rid of a load of baggy clothes to the clothes recycling bin. Very few people have noticed a loss but I'm pleased, which is enough for me! 😄

Zippitydoodaa · 14/10/2024 10:03

I have lost almost almost 3st in 13 weeks and coming to a weight I am happy with , in maybe 4/5 weeks time .
The last 4 or 5 weeks have been losing about 1lb a week ,eating around 1400 cals a day which was nice and consistent. I've done this mostly at 2.5mg.
Big worry is ,on Friday i went through the day munching biscuits/ sweets/ bigger meals.
So decided to titrate to 3.75mg now. Back to good suppresion over weekend.
I assumed in the beginning i would have a few months on Mounjaro and my body and brain would get used to new eating habits , and keep it up.
Now im worried , when the jabs come to an end will i go back to old habits - dearly hope not - I've spent my life on diets.
Just been reading all about how hormones control satiety , so not as simple as mustering up some willpower.
I just don't want all the 'food noise' back in my head !!
Maybe being on the jabs will be a long term thing .

Well done on your loss, that’s great! I also did a big charity shop run on Sunday to get rid of the big old baggy stuff (and to have an incentive not to put weight back on!)

MzHz · 15/10/2024 08:58

Morning. After a while of stall and fall, I seem to have found a steady loss patch. I was down 13kg at the end of Sept, after my holiday, back in the swing of work/travel etc and I’ve still managed to lose another 1kg this week. So I’m 14kg down

i went on a trip for work, people noticed! (All girls 🤣)

going into office today, trousers I wore a month ago are not almost loose to the point that if I were shopping for them I might have tried the size down

I have a big trip coming up to the USA, looked up a menu last night for one of the places we’re going.

HORRIFIED! The calorie count is ridiculous! 1400 for a single course! Some are 1700 and above.

even the sodding salad is 800 cals cos it has *bleugh cheese on it (sic 🤣)

I’m going to pack a lot of protein bars and take care of my own nutrition I think.

… and go shopping for new trousers 🤣🤣🤣

im on 10mg now and the side effects are minimal now, although I have noticed sensitive skin on my thighs, no idea if that’s to do with MJ or something else

MzHz · 15/10/2024 09:02

Well done @Zippitydoodaa

i wonder if the hormone control satiety changes once were through the peri phase

I’ll ask at my next appointment.

one thing I’ve noticed actually is that nowadays I CAN think about meals planning etc without the desire to eat it if that makes sense.

although I do think my tastebuds have changed some things taste weirder than I remember.

pastel de nata… sorry, think we’re done 😢

Xiaoxiong · 15/10/2024 11:32

I thought I would posting that I'm still in a stall here...though when I look at my tracking, in fact I'm down 1.7kg in the last 4 weeks which is 1lb a week on average. So I have to hang in there and keep going!! This is why tracking regularly is so important - I was feeling pretty despondent until I realised that I am still losing, it's just definitely slowed down over the last month. Waiting and hoping for the next "whoosh"!!

NSV is wearing a button down shirt to work today. 6 months ago I couldn't even get my upper arms into it, let alone button comfortably without it being skin tight and gaping.

I'm staying on 5mg for my next pen as Voy just sent me another one. I'm not sure what I have to do to go up to the next dose as it doesn't seem automatic.

MyPearlMentor · 15/10/2024 11:45

@MzHz is USA a work trip or for fun? If it’s for fun then I suggest doing what I did when on hols recently with friends and be open about the fact that you’re trying hard to lose weight to be more healthy… ask to share (and in the US this is VERY common in restaurants) and just eat a very small amount of what you fancy and ENJOY it. Also Americans are notoriously fussy/demanding, so ask for no cheese / dressing on the side etc :-). If this is a work trip, I have to travel every other week, attend dinners with 3 courses. & often no choice of food. I just eat a little of the least damaging stuff & push the rest around my plate. I take protein bars which I eat for breakfast & lunch if possible & also ITSU do noodle pots you make with just boiling water in your hotel room, they are delicious and only 200 cals. Hope that helps!

And WELL DONE on the trousers :-)

HundredMilesAnHour · 15/10/2024 13:56

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today as I'm still struggling with a really nasty bug (Covid maybe - I haven't tested but I live alone so haven't impacted anyone else while I fester under my heated throw and feel sorry for myself). My weight loss seems to have stalled this past week. Maybe because I'm barely moving from under the aforementioned heated throw, maybe because I've had my first period in nearly a year.

It was only when I decided to convert my kg weight loss into stone that I cheered up. Realised that I've lost 2.5 stone since I started in July. I still need to lose another 2 stone but to realise that I'm halfway there feels monumental.

ACEwards · 15/10/2024 14:32

@HundredMilesAnHour sorry to hear you're not well!

I never do KG's only stones and lbs as the losses sound more and it spurs me on 🤣

ACEwards · 15/10/2024 14:34

Anyone had a noticeable change in their mood the longer they're on MJ? I've always suffered with periods of anxiety and depression, and have been off all my meds now for about 6 months which I've been really proud off (and determined not to restart)! However as the weeks have gone on my mood is dipping more and more... could this be a side effect? Or am I just starting to go mental again!! 🤯🤣

MyPearlMentor · 15/10/2024 15:09

@ACEwards yes, I did at the beginning, I found some research that did say it could affect mood. To be honest, I always find dieting makes my mood low as I feel like I am missing out on fun social things! This has passed over time for me as I have been so happy about the weightloss. Does your MJ come with any support? It might be worth speaking to them…

MyPearlMentor · 15/10/2024 15:11

@HundredMilesAnHour sorry you are poorly & WELL DONE on getting this far… life changing amounts of weight loss.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

it’s for work initially, 5 days east coast then 5 days ‘vacay in Cali. (🤣 sorry!)

the restaurant I looked up is for dinner on Saturday night event and it’s family style apparently so I can at least take only what I want. I’ve just whacked 2 boxes of protein bars in the Ocado shop, and will deffo take the noodle pots, that’s a fab idea! Even for my shorter more routine travel

I was away for work last week, but that was Mediterranean so at least I could order fish grilled etc and leave the potatoes etc - I just focused on protein

for the holiday bit, I’m staying with a friend who is model proportions, super beautiful so I know it’ll be easier with her, I’ll tell her and I know she’ll get it.

she’s one of the factors in my decision to start MJ tbh

It could just be the weather. It’s fucking grim out there… AND you’ll be feeling the cold more

remind yourself how proud you are of you. And how proud WE are of you. We’re here for you- don’t forget that too heh?

I’ve had more than my fair share of depression in the past and survived (just) we’ll get you through this if you need us!

ACEwards · 15/10/2024 16:28

@MzHz Thank you 💓 I know I need to start going out and doing more. I've become a bit of a recluse and literally just work and run around after the kids (my daughter especially who's massively into dance and gym).Even my husband has noticed that I'm becoming anxious about going out and doing things. I thought losing weight would have the opposite effect but I guess not lol!

To be honest I've lost touch with all my old friends too. We've been friends since school but I've realised recently that we have literally nothing in common so it's just not that enjoyable - does that make me sound like a bitch haha

And OMG do I feel the cold?! Jeez I've always been a cold person (I've always slept in a full tracksuit 🤣) but it's getting ridiculous! Wearing two jumpers and I have an Oodie at work that I wear at my desk 🤣

MzHz · 15/10/2024 17:23

@ACEwards are you a woman of a certain age 🤣. (Like me?) or are you approaching peri menopause?

anxiety is a HUGE thing with our changes in hormones. Might be worth getting that looked at if you’re in or around your 40s.

and yes, get out there! It’s a great head reset and if you can carve out some time for yourself maybe look at doing a class or something, start out gentle and take things at your own pace.

I used to be agoraphobic and it just gets a tighter grip of you if you allow it. But you do have control. Could you do something at the gym while DD is doing her thing?

this change is a big change for us, it’s hard to adjust

MzHz · 15/10/2024 17:25

@ACEwards would your dh be able to help you get out and about? I found getting my oh to come with me really helped.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 15/10/2024 18:01

My moods been ok but I have read others saying the same re moods dipping

I'm away this week and have not jabbed as I'd rather save it for when I get back and it
Might help to have a break. I feel the loss is definitely stopped and I'm trying to maintain but it's very difficult. I feel like if I eat more than 1400 Cals it pushes back up. Which is scary
