Week 10 for me and 22lb loss so far which I'm over the mood with.

I've not been able to go to the gym as usual due to exhaustion and lack of food, but today I managed a 50k ultra walk for a charity that supported my dad before he passed last year. Eating was a challenge but managed to nibble my way through the day and get to the finish line... actually super proud of myself 🥳

MyPearlMentor · 29/09/2024 10:08

@ACEwards that’s an amazing achievement, congratulations on the loss & the walk!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 29/09/2024 16:01

Well done @ACEwards
That's amazing

DamnItBetsy · 29/09/2024 17:57

I’m on month 2 of 5mg. Ever since I started 5mg I’ve been WIPED the day after injection. I inject on Saturday night, then spend the entire day in bed on Sunday. Does this happen to anyone else? I’m so tired. The only exercise and movement I’ve had all day is walking g the four yards between my bed and the bathroom a few times!

I should add, I’m pretty much fine the rest of the time. I work full time and do three to five exercise classes or weights session a week.

Zippitydoodaa · 29/09/2024 19:57

@ACEwards well done you on the charity walk , and weightloss is average of 2lbs a week , which is ideal going forward.
I'm hoping to aim for that ,on the hope I don't put loads back on when I reach a weight i am happy with .

Wishthiswasntmypost · 30/09/2024 08:03

0.1kg lost last week 🙄 I've definitely plateaued

I also had a needle issue today. When I went to inject the plunger started but then jammed. Pushing pushing with needle in me was uncomfortable so I removed fiddled chose new spot and tried again. No joy.

I took it out and put a new needle on and a jet flew across the room so it was obviously under pressure but needle had blocked. I'm now a needle short 😞

I really don't want to buy 100 needles just to get 1!

MzHz · 30/09/2024 08:46

@Wishthiswasntmypost who do you get your pens from? Could you ask for more, Juniper always send more that I need so I do have spares

iirc, you’re close to target aren’t you? Keep on doing what you’re doing, it will break eventually

I also was on a plateau- FINALLY managed to get to my second milestone the day I flew off on holidays last week, got back last night and weighed this morning and I’m down another kg!

going up to next pen next week - eek

Xiaoxiong · 30/09/2024 12:55

@Wishthiswasntmypost I did buy 100 needles a while back to do the bonus doses, so if you want to DM me I can post you some... because if I use one needle a month for the bonus dose, that will last me until 2032 and I'm certainly not planning to be on MJ in 8 years time!

I'm due my next jab tomorrow night and am being vigilant not to eat between meals and have sensible portions. It's not too hard, but after seeing the similar patterns across the week that @MzHz pointed out I can see that the last 2 days before the jab are definitely where it's wearing off and I need to actually think about and practice my new-found habits.

I have officially retired all my jeans that I've been wearing for the last year, as even with a belt they're too baggy. I'm not quite back into my older "skinny" clothes yet so I've bought a pair off Vinted and hoping they're a halfway house. And in any case, having pulled out the few things I kept hoping I would slim back into them, they seem a bit dated now! (button down shirts with princess seams, that kind of thing).

Andywarholswig · 30/09/2024 16:41

I have been absent as work has gone nuts and been so busy with the kids and trying to sort my house out after a chaotic summer,

I started 5mg and that’s been working really well for me, no food noise, not hungry - am on week 2 today.

Still going slow and steady

SW:112kg
CW: 98.5mg
GW: 85kg

I’m thrilled to be in double figures, the last time I was this weight was December 2021 before I hurt my back and was running quite a lot.

I’ve also noticed I’m not fussed about alcohol, I’ve given up my beloved lager and switched to wine or a G&T but one is enough. I’ve morphed into intermittent fasting and it’s working quite well.

i feel so at peace at the moment, no thinking about food, craving certain things, just eating normal portions and satisfied. It’s been such a game changer and made me realise quite how much time I spent thinking about food before. I am sure the noise will come back when I stop, but for now I am savouring how calm it is in my head.

Wishthiswasntmypost · 30/09/2024 17:50

@MzHz I have another 10kg to go to get to 'normal' BMI. I've decided to stop before then and was hoping to drop 5kg.

@xiaoxiong I've asked Medexpress for another needle. They have asking for more info - am hoping they will send out but if not yes I'd be very grateful

I'm not completely food suppressed (at all) and still fancy all the bad stuff. I'm avoiding it and almost no snacking. (Someone brought birthday cake to the office today ahem...I had the smallest piece and abstained from everything else)
've given away boxes of chocolates and refused cake in so many places.

ACEwards · 01/10/2024 10:46

I was a little late with my dose this week, so went about 9 days. Did my usual yesterday and OMG the exhaustion today 😳😞💤

Work is a massive challenge and time has actually stood still 😂

Exactly how I am now after injection day. I basically have to write off Sundays now. 😴
My house is a tip, but at least I’m not as fat as I was 🤷🏼‍♀️

Aitchtee · 01/10/2024 19:38

People have started to ask me about weight loss! I’m 1lb away from losing 2 stones. So happy!

ACEwards · 01/10/2024 20:42

@DamnItBetsy I'm literally nodding off on the sofa... my head is bobbing all over the place 😂

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 03/10/2024 07:29

Im stuck now. I just can't shift the last kilo. I so close Not sure if I should
Just maintain if I can now

Kind of got into this pattern and worried about gaining.

This is harder than Losing in some ways.

Xiaoxiong · 03/10/2024 09:00

@Wishthiswasntmypost just let me know - happy to share the needles (that sounds bad but you know what I mean!) Also, it sounds like you're actually in a good set of habits - it's one thing to turn something down because you don't fancy it, but you're routinely turning down the stuff you still fancy eating! That's brilliant and surely will set you up for success when no longer on MJ.

@HeBeaverandSheBeaver that is hard! I think it's the law of diminishing returns where 80% of your weight loss took 20% of the time and effort, and the last 20% is going to take 80% of the time and effort!! I'm sure you can do it but you might have to prepare yourself for it to be much slower and longer than the rest of the weight you've lost?

@ACEwards took my 3rd 5mg jab yesterday morning and was fine all day yesterday, but today I could easily go back to bed and sleep all day!! Hopefully the fact that I have to work and get the kids from school will keep me going through a very sleepy day.

@Aitchtee well done!!! Still only one person has commented...my mum's about to start MJ tomorrow and she still doesn't know/realise I've been on it since July....I'm wondering when she will notice, she's never been shy about commenting on my weight before!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 03/10/2024 14:09

@Xiaoxiong
That's a great way of looking at it. Thank you

Wishthiswasntmypost · 03/10/2024 22:21

@xiaoxiong Med express sent me 4 needles today which is a good response but thank you.

I'm getting a fair few comments - my clothes are hanging off me. I feel very different and despite still being technically fat I feel comfortable in my skin. 2 more jabs to go and I'm done. Maintenance starts then. I may still post if this is OK to make me accountable

Zippitydoodaa · 04/10/2024 00:07

@Wishthiswasntmypost Please do keep posting. Ive got about 8lbs to the weight I would be very happy with .When that time comes I will have lost 3st.
I'm very anxious about what happens after stopping Mounjaro.
Or will I keep taking a lower dose ?
It's a dilemma I'm thinking over.

Femme2804 · 04/10/2024 00:18

Its my first week and i lose 4.4 lbs. I got discount code £40 off for mounjaro on medexpress. Feel free to use my code as i will get discount aswell if you use it 😬😬 my code is K1RPK8

Jfw82 · 04/10/2024 05:35

11 weeks in and I'm 25lbs down nearly at my next goal of 2 stone down.

Just over 11 weeks to xmas and if I could do the same again by then (or even half that) I'd be delighted.

No one has particularly noticed yet but that's ok as I'm doing it for myself and only DH and 1 friend know. I am finding myself checking my weight tracking app (no hiding from smart scales Grin)to check all the time when the last time I was down to this weight - currently I'm at my lowest since Jan 2019!

Moving up to 7.5mg next week (done 2 x 2.5 pens and 1x 5 so far)

Keep pushing on everyone we are all doing great 😊

DamnItBetsy · 04/10/2024 07:17

I’m down to 11st 2! 🙌🏼 Only a couple of pounds until I’m officially BMI 25 and not in the overweight category. 🙌🏼

Although I still want to lose another half stone, I’m also wondering what to do when I get there. Do people take 2.5mg forever??

Wishthiswasntmypost · 04/10/2024 07:55

@Zippitydoodaa and @damnitbetsy I took MJ to lose a large amount of weight in a short time and skip months and months and months of struggling as I find dropping 1lb a week whilst starving very depressing (which was half the problem that put the weight on)

Once at the lower weight having lost 17kg I really want to maintain just with diet. I feel sort of confident as I stayed this weight for years. A very difficult time in my life resulted in binge eating and I put on about the same amount over 2 yrs.

We shall see but I don't intend to use MJ On a regular basis. Having said that I'm going on holiday and Christmas looms so I've stockpiled one 2.5mg pen for a post Christmas January recovery boost. I wouldn't rule out using it again if I ever get this weight again.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 04/10/2024 08:07

Everyone is doing so well that's great!

I finally shifted a teeny bit more so new lowest weight of 10st 1lb. Just 1 pound to go!!! Will be Bmi 24

Then some how I need to maintain

My plan for that is continue with calorie counting
Eat as clean as possible when at home but I will have the odd takeaway and food out.
If weight goes back up do a fasting day or two

I'm not sure I can justify getting another pen tho I like the idea of a post xmas pen.

I don't tend to go mad at xmas tho so I'll have a Think
