1.4lb off this week, taking my BMI to 26. So close!

Amazing! You must be so happy!

Xiaoxiong · 13/09/2024 10:21

Put 1kg back on this week, but looking back, this happened 4 weeks ago. I have a Mirena so don't have periods (glorious) but I think this might be a sign of the period I should be having!! So I'm not allowing myself to be discouraged - resetting, drinking more water, making a healthy lunch and dinner and lifting tomorrow in the gym (I go every Saturday with friends). I've still lost 8% of my body weight since mid-July which is nothing to sneeze at.

Looking forward to next week when I go up to 5mg. I received a 2.5mg pen for an extra month due to a miscommunication between me and Voy, but it hasn't mattered too much - with the bonus doses in each pen, I've managed to do 3.75mg doses the past 4 weeks by counting clicks so it has been a step up.

Wishthiswasntmypost · 14/09/2024 20:08

I'm well past the trials of a menstrual cycle thank god. @HeBeaverandSheBeaver I have had a static bowel but loads of fluid and some laxido helped me out.

I am definitely getting used to 5mg...either that or the bonus dose isn't 5mg. New pen and possibly the last tomorrow. Whilst struggling with side effects I'd decided to stop but things are better now. More energy, less suppression and aforementioned bowel are more normal.

littlefireseverywhere · 15/09/2024 03:29

I’ve forgotten to focus on fibre last few days & regretting it. Will be having fibre filled day tomorrow! Not weighed for a couple of weeks, will weigh next week, gone down a trouser size though! Going up to 7.5mg, next week, last few days on 5 mg & not feeling the suppression.

Marmalade100 · 15/09/2024 18:06

Can I just ask about referral codes please - I'm not posting one don't worry ! 2 friends of mine have used my code fo ZAVA but I cannot see the voucher I get in return anywhere - does anyone know where it is ? Just or my next order..

Wishthiswasntmypost · 15/09/2024 18:08

Anyone else struggle with eating out!? I used to enjoy it but now it's a horrid experience. I struggle to find anything healthy and end up paying to eat something I don't want but seems least dangerous in calories.

QuiteCurious · 15/09/2024 19:05

Sorry for crashing your thread. Have been following the thread and tempted to start Mountjaro. Can I ask how you went about choosing your provider, and about the cost please?

Wishthiswasntmypost · 15/09/2024 19:46

I went with Zava because someone posted a code for money off. Can't remember how much but not as expensive as expected.

I then moved to Med express for 2nd jab (had to send them my prescription from Zava to show I could move up from 2.5mg) as a new patient I got 30% off and paid about £116.

Stuck with med express for 3rd pen and it was £159 I think.

I think I may stop now but BMI still 28 so maybe not...

DamnItBetsy · 15/09/2024 20:19

I took 6mg last night (I think!). I’d been working up to 5th over a few weeks so had 50 clicks left in my pen. I injected that, then forced to pen round to release the ‘bonus dose’ and surprised it was a full 5mg. I knew I didn’t want to take it all so did about half, then counted how many clicks were left. So, the 6mg is an estimate!
Today I have been so exhausted I felt like I’d been tranquillised! It’s a bit better now, but oh my word, that was bizarre. Will be careful to stick to 5mg from now on!

Yes I have spent the summer being more antisocial than usual as it's easier to just stay home and eat salad.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 15/09/2024 21:17

Not had a great week.
Tummy been very sore and had multiple pains and rushing to the loo.

Hoping it's just a bad week.

Back on it tomz after a fairly non diet weekend. About 1800 Cals a day . Not enough to loose but hopefully stayed the same. I usually only loose Monday to Thursday and have a few more Cals Fri-Sunday now.

ChaChaChooey · 15/09/2024 21:43

Squeezed into my second-to-smallest jeans yesterday but they were so tight they made me feel a bit sick so I put them back in the drawer for now 😂

I made it to bang on 2stone loss in 8 weeks - it felt like I lost slower on the second pen (5mg) but looking back over my feet-on-scale pics I can see that I had a big loss the first couple of weeks on MJ, then stagnant for a couple of weeks, followed by smaller, steady losses since so actually I’ve lost a stone with each pen. Sticking at 5mg for my third but planning on using the ‘bonus’ gradually over the month so weekly dose is more like 6mg.

Not quite at a healthy BMI yet but not far off - it’s my next mini goal.

(I think the last time I was actually wearing those jeans was the last time I saw my adopted dad in hospital, which really underlines the fact that bereavement was a big part of my gain - attempting to treat depression with sugar & booze, basically!)

You won't see it til you do your next order and then you have option to use it (and will show you how many you have) I did share mine on the dedicated thread -just once- and it was used twice

Jfw82 · 15/09/2024 22:20

My digital scales flickered today to starting with the next number down... they didn't but was amazing to see it and be pleased rather than the other end of the range when worried it would land on the higher side which was always higher than I hoped!

Next jab Tuesday and going maybe it will land on the lower number then but Id be pleased with my progress whatever !

MyPearlMentor · 16/09/2024 06:48

@Wishthiswasntmypost and @Choux i feel the same about eating out! I have to do it for work a couple of times per week when I travel and it’s really hard… days when I know I have to that I try to stick to 400 calls for breakfast & lunch to give myself a buffer. Luckily not drinking alcohol has become more acceptable and I just smile and say “cutting right down after a busy summer” which seems to go down ok. I have told my family I am dieting (although not doing MJ) & they are pretty supportive but it does seem a bit sad!

MzHz · 16/09/2024 07:16

2 months in. My weight loss goes like this:

down big drop
static for a few days
often UP - wth?! 😆
then down big drop.

its annoying but over all in the right direction - total off about 10kg, 1st 9lb in old money

I think its all about the water and I’m supposed to drink 3l a day and that’s HARD!

now on 7.5, no side effects really,

Sorry for crashing your thread. Have been following the thread and tempted to start Mountjaro. Can I ask how you went about choosing your provider, and about the cost please?

I used Chequp initially as they offered a dietician, I saw her a few times (online) for some suggestions / reassurance. I just swapped to Oushk with 10kg to go as they offer maintenance plans, others cut you off cold at 25 BMI - but they are not the cheapest. What I would say if you are dithering (which I did for ages, even after having ordered) that this medication does truly make a difference to your ability to lose weight steadily & change your eating habits. I have lost this much weight before on a VCLD but been utterly miserable, and MJ makes it doable. There are side effects and unless you are very lucky, most people here are losing 1-3 lbs max a week after the initial 2 weeks where it is quick. As you get closer to your goal weightloss slows a bit more, as with all diets. It’s not a miracle and you still have to make good food choices & address the comfort/emotional/boredom eating - but the absence of food noise has allowed me to do that this time. Good luck!

Xiaoxiong · 16/09/2024 09:34

@QuiteCurious I use Voy, and I really like my coach and the info I'm getting from the app in combination with the medication. I think the medication/coaching combo is best for me, I like someone checking in on how I'm doing since I'm not telling anyone except DH (and you lot!!) that I'm on it.

@MzHz my weight loss pattern is exactly the same!! Even with the slight up before the bigger losses. The chart since mid-July looks like a bumpy ski slope. I'm not drinking anywhere near that much water though, 2L max and that's when I'm paying attention - sometimes it dips well below that. Why is 3L your target (ie. should I also be aiming to drink even more?!)

Expecting my next pen tomorrow or the next day so that will be up to 5mg for the first time for me. Let's see if the pattern maintains.

ACEwards · 16/09/2024 12:17

@@MyPearlMentor I'm also with Chequp and can't actually fault them. Still reasonable price wise for me as I'm only on 2.5, which works for me and I'm almost at goal using this dose. It is getting harder tho so have been tempted to move up but can't face the additional cost. I'm worried that if I cancel chequp and get refused by anyone else I'll be stuck without anything 😳

How was it moving to another provider? Can't face going through all the photos etc again as my BMI is final within normal range and don't want to get refused due to this... I just need to lose about 5 more lbs as a buffer then maintain

RobinEllacotStrike · 16/09/2024 12:35

I started on 24/7 - going very well

SW:123kg
CW: 112.8kg
interim GW: 85kg

Loss to date - 10.2kg
To go to interim GW - 27.8kg

I'm feeling really good, exercising regularly.
The impact on my mind/mental health has been huge.

MyPearlMentor · 16/09/2024 15:30

Hello @ACEwards well done for getting that far, so exiting to be close to goal! With Oushk I had to share my existing prescription (took a photo of the box) and a photo of myself. They said I might need a video call but actually accepted me right away - but my BMI is still 27. TBH, I am on 7.5 and it is getting harder too, I am still losing but much more slowly. I guess your body adapts to having less food! I just applied with them 2 weeks prior to my Chequp direct debit going out to make sure it was agreed before cancelling.

I just really wanted to have a provider who had a set maintenance plan in case I can’t keep the weight off… I intend to stop MJ but don’t want to have to go back up 15kg before anyone will give it to me.

Sorry for the long post, but this is what Oushk say which attracted me:

FLEX PLAN: The Lifestyle Maintenance Package is tailored for patients who have reached their weight loss goals and wish to maintain their results without ongoing medication. This package focuses on helping you transition to sustainable lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise, while still offering the flexibility to reintroduce medication if needed.

We will charge patients £20 per month for this plan, which they can remain on for up to 12 months after stopping treatment. If medication needs to be reintroduced at any point, patients will continue to receive a 15% discount off the regular

Very stressful work week and I've fallen off the wagon 🫤 Having said that I've hardly gone bonkers. I ate a meal deal for lunch instead of a carrot and hummus one day, I ate a doughnut that someone bought for me on another day and I've eaten two rolls. Everything else has been the same or less than the family. I've put on 1kg 😞 Everyone in the house (5 adults) can seemingly eat far more than me and stay slim. On top of meals they all drink alcohol, snack, eat chocolate and only one has a weight issue.

Demoralised this week. Slap me someone

Xiaoxiong · 19/09/2024 13:58

After a small gain, I did my first 5mg jab on Tuesday night - no change to weight Wednesday, and down 1kg this morning so back on track! Following exactly the pattern @MzHz outlined above.

The Voy coach suggested a food diary taking photos of everything I eat in the day and sending it to her. What really struck me was that there were only three photos - breakfast, lunch and dinner. No 11am biscuit with a cup of coffee, no 3pm piece of cake, no 7pm packet of crisps and glass of wine before dinner. I really am seeing how much I was mindlessly shoving food in my mouth to settle the boredom/noise in my head. I don't think it was emotional eating, I think a combination of habit, boredom, and maybe sensory seeking of wanting to try the tasty thing(?) That might just be a fancy way to say "greedy" but it wasn't really quantity I wanted, as much as to have something because it wasn't going to be there anymore, and it tasted nice.

I'm going to just have to become one of those people who doesn't eat anything between meals. Years ago I went cold turkey on sugar in hot drinks and have never had a spoonful of sugar in tea or coffee since, so I know I can go cold turkey on snacks now. There's no need for them (for me).

That is hardly falling off the wagon! I bet that's still better than you would have been starting your mj journey.

I get it with the comparisons but just remember how well you're doing and where you're aiming to get to
