Just do it. Honestly.

I had it in my fridge for weeks, umming and ahhhing. Worried about side effects. Worried about whether it's a bit extreme. Etc etc

Finally I took the plunge. And now onto week 4.

I've been on a diet my whole adult life.
I've always been a slow loser, chugging away at a pound a week, putting 3 back on if I have a weekend off, feeling hopeless and defeated.

I've lost 13lbs in three weeks and dropping my BMI from 35 to 33. I've felt well, and can't believe how liberating it feels to not be thinking about food all the time. Not popping for a little look in the fridge or cupboard every so often.

I've also stopped drinking coffee and wine as absolutely don't fancy it at all.

Have eaten no sweets, cake, crisps, junk at all in three week. No urge at all.

It's magical stuff.

I'm with Voy, they do counselling via WhatsApp which is nice if you're like me and not keen on talking to stranger on phone.

I have a discount code, pm if you want it or check out the discount code thread which has loads of options for where you can buy from.

Good luck! Flowers

joinvoy.com/r/U-DrWvmHn1sY is my Voy code. I think they have a special deal at the mo.
There's also a thread in here with codes for all the different options xx

I have pretty bad fomo when it comes to food- I can go for long periods without, typically eat first meal at 2 in the afternoon and last one between 6-7 in the evening, but seeing an add on the telly, or someone eating something will trigger me to become ravenous and I will eat food I don’t even like rather than pass it up. I know my rationale is due to specific childhood events- but can’t seem to get past the starve/binge cycle. Hoping that the mounjaro will help to turn this off. Anyone experienced a shift from n mindset after starting the medication?

Itisallgoingtobeok · 24/08/2024 10:34

I have been reading all the different threads with interest. I have 6 stone to loose having lost 0.5 stone in the last six months. I clearly need some help. I am quite scared of the side effects, but I guess the only way to know is to try. What I am most interested in is whether it will close off the "food chatter" that I have. I would love to be free of that.

WalterHWhite · 24/08/2024 10:59

@piefacedClique Thanks. Let’s hope so after my rocky start!

BankHolidayReset · 26/08/2024 09:09

I'm so tempted with this. I need to overhaul my life. Weight. Alcohol. Managing home v work plus kids. I think I want to start when they go back to school next week. I think I'm scared that food and drink has been such a part of my life what do I do when it's gone 🙈

My mindset has totally shifted! Just eating less. And making much more healthier choices. I am still enjoying my food but just in a different way. I’ve had very few side effects and the food noise has decreased big time. So far so good and I’d be encouraging anyone who feels they’ve tried every thing and their eating is a problem to just try this!

The packaging has a quote on it …something along the lines of “mounjaro …the last weight loss plan you will ever need”

@Crysti - this is really good to hear. I am just about ready to put an order in. How long does it take to be approved and receive the first pen?

I took the plunge and have had my second injection on Sunday night. I hear what you say about food and drink being such a big part of your life. Try to think of it as not gone, but you won’t be ruled by it- I have steered away from surgery such as a gastric sleeve etc for this reason, because I couldn’t bear to not be able to have something I enjoy, or have it impact eating with family and friends. So far so good on week two though of the mounjaro, slight nausea today but it passed, I don’t mind turning down a pudding or treat as I feel that I am investing in my health and wellbeing by trying to develop a new habit. Went to a BBQ yesterday though and it was fine- had what I wanted but less of it. Really enjoyed what I had. Didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything, and have jumped on the scales this morning to find I have lost a kilogram in the last week. Feels good to see early progress. Best of luck.

Well … did you do it? 😊

Itisallgoingtobeok · 04/09/2024 05:22

@Crysti - yes I did! Pen arrived, but without needles, so once they arrive I will take my first injection!

Fab, best of luck!

I’m going up to 5mg this week.
2.5 has been amazing, very little side effects and a definite reduction in appetite and food noise so I hope the 5mg doesn’t have too many side effects me.

First few weeks I’d a bit of wind and indigestion but a few Rennies sorted that out.

Currently having 2 meals per day and absolutely no snacking. I absolute love mounjaro ❤️

Itisallgoingtobeok · 05/09/2024 09:27

Did my first injection last night. Feel a bit sick this morning but nothing too bad. Hoping for a good first week!

WelshMoth · 06/09/2024 18:17

Hello. Had my first 2.5 Mounjaro last Tuesday and I've had a great week of appetite control. A little constipation but fine after upping my intake of water.

Last night though, I've noticed an aching feeling in my legs. Different to an ache after physical exertion. I've had it all night and I'm noticing it again now that I'm sitting down.

Could this be related to the treatment?

JamieFrasersSassenach · 07/09/2024 15:27

Hi @WelshMoth I've just gone up from 2.5 to 5mg - I've had some leg aching too, on and off both on 2.5 and 5mg.

I've put it down to the Mounjaro as there doesn't seem to be any physical reason for it, and it does come and go. I have wondered at times if I could have been a bit dehydrated when they've ached. Would that make sense for you?

JemOfAWoman · 07/09/2024 16:34

Well that's me gone and ordered a months supply!

I hate diets, hate the language around good and bad food, being good and eating something therefore being bad! I think SW & WW are akin to cults and I know I need to loose some weight because I have Joint Hyper mobility syndrome and it really affects my ability to do stuff. I've been watching these threads for some time and I have just decided 🦆 it, I'm giving it a try.

Wish me luck!

LiveLoveFuckEmAll · 07/09/2024 17:17

How much does it cost?

Crysti · 07/09/2024 20:38

Think there’s various prices depending where you get it from. I got mine from VOY £145 for first month, £220 each month after that. I think I read on a thread someone got theirs from Asda?

JamieFrasersSassenach · 07/09/2024 21:04

I agree that SW & WW are akin to cults @JemOfAWoman! This has been a game changer for me.

If you go onto the promotions threads @LiveLoveFuckEmAll there are lots of discounts/money off offers available which will bring the cost down - you should be able to get your first months supply for around the £100 mark. Once you factor in the money you save off of your grocery shopping it isn't actually so expensive.

Yeah that would actually.
I think it's dehydration and being low in sodium perhaps?
Thanks for replying!

2nd dose of 5mg and the side effects have eventually kicked in 😢. Feel absolutely terrible. So nauseous I feel I might actually throw up. Any tips for getting past this? I’d had no side effects until now and I don’t know how I’ll stick this tbh

8008Bee · 15/09/2024 12:11

Dp has been doing this for 3 weeks now - he's completed stopped drinking (which is a big thing for him in terms of calories) and he weighed himself this morning and he's actually put on weight 😱

Has this happened to anyone? They did start him on a low dose but he's v obese so I think he was expecting some weight loss!

Some people take motion sickness tablets like Kwells for the nausea, you could also try eating things like crackers and having ginger tea.

Ah thank you! I’ll definitely try the Kwells x
