Just do it. Honestly.

I had it in my fridge for weeks, umming and ahhhing. Worried about side effects. Worried about whether it's a bit extreme. Etc etc

Finally I took the plunge. And now onto week 4.

I've been on a diet my whole adult life.
I've always been a slow loser, chugging away at a pound a week, putting 3 back on if I have a weekend off, feeling hopeless and defeated.

I've lost 13lbs in three weeks and dropping my BMI from 35 to 33. I've felt well, and can't believe how liberating it feels to not be thinking about food all the time. Not popping for a little look in the fridge or cupboard every so often.

I've also stopped drinking coffee and wine as absolutely don't fancy it at all.

Have eaten no sweets, cake, crisps, junk at all in three week. No urge at all.

It's magical stuff.

I'm with Voy, they do counselling via WhatsApp which is nice if you're like me and not keen on talking to stranger on phone.

The delayed gastric emptying affects the pill getting into your bloodstream, is my understanding. Lots of stories about people on Mounjaro getting pregnant on the Reddit boards about it.

I have Nexplanon (the implant) which isn't affected as it doesn't involve the stomach/digestive system.

I really want to do it, and have read many of the threads looking at the pros and cons for months now...... but I have a terrible fear of vomiting. I know lots of people don't have any problems but the fear that I could be one of the unlucky ones is paralysing.

I can cope with anything else - just not vomiting 😔

This was what I was most worried about. In the end, there is only one way to find out how you would react and that would be to bite the bullet and go for it. I don't see many post from people who are vomiting.

OP I hope you’re on commission as I’m another one who has ordered it after seeing your post! I am praying I can manage the side effects though. I tried wegovy about 8 months ago and could only do week one due to vomiting! I wonder do any posters know of any anti sickness medications I could try this time around?

I had my first dose Saturday and have had horrible side effects of muscle aches and nausea I am barely able to eat only managing 600kcals a day. Food doesn’t taste the same takes so long to eat and I feel awful. I won’t be having my second dose. Think it’s important to get a balanced view most people seem to be fine and I thought/hoped I would be but even this starter dose has had an extreme effect on me!
Reddit is a good app for lots of info on this a lot more users on there with experience of it.

You could ask the gp to prescribe you some meds just in case. But I think my has the least side effects of them all so this may well be a better fit with a bit of luck.

Oh no, this sounds rough. I think we all know when we start that there's an element of luck to how our bodies feel about it.
Are you eating really clean? no junk, fatty or spicy, just lean meat, salad veg, a little rice/grain.
I think the side effects do settle down with time but I also would struggle to carry on if they were bad. Potentially you could look at halfing the dose if you have any urge to continue, but appreciate you probably feel ready to jump ship. Hope you feel better soon.

I've popped up on a few threads now as I'm further down the road and like to share my story as encouragement.

I have a total of 5 stone to lose - ish - and I've lost just over 4 stone now. Started in April weighing 14 stone 12 and I'm now 10 stone 11 - I'd like to drop another 10-14 lbs or so

I've always stayed on 2.5 as I too have a fear of feeling sick and unwell. I do have to inject a day or so earlier each week these days so I probably should be on 5mg to be honest but I'll keep on going with 2.5 for a while longer

I've never had suppression really - always been able to eat - and I try and stay under about 1400 calories a day. I'm swim, do spin and walk but not excessively

I'm considering starting. Yo-yo dieted all my adult life but I'm worried if I try this I'll just put weight on again when I stop. I'm doing my research and these threads are really helpful.

I've just ordered it... got to obviously wait to be approved. I spilt with my ex husband about a year and a half ago and I finally feel ready to concentrate on me. They don't telephone you unless you ask for a counselling session. I haven't, I've had a couple of WhatsApp chats instead.

I’ve started getting a bit of heartburn and indigestion… bearable at the minute but I think I need to maybe focus on eating plainer and bland foods. I haven’t ate much today but what I did eat was probably too flavourful and rich tasting and I’m suffering now for it !
