The first thread was almost full, so I thought I'd start a second so we can carry on the fab support!
I don't think I could manage tagging everyone!! But here is the link to the first thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5101435-mounjaro-july-2024?page=1

Here for my mid-week weigh in.

SW 74.2kg (BMI 29)

2.5mg Pen
Week 1: 72.8kg (-1.4kg)
Week 2: 71.4kg (-1.4kg)
Week 3: 71.1kg (-0.3kg)

CW 70.3kg (BMI 27.5)
TL 3.9kg

Slow and steady here. 🐢 Keeping my fingers crossed I can drop below 70kg before my next weight in. 🤞

I've got my 4th dose planned for Friday and then I'll use whatever is left the following week for the bonus dose, before going to my 5mg pen the week after.

No issues this week. A bit of indigestion after large meals but apart from that my digestive system seems to be running sluggishly but smooth. Suppression is mild but willpower is holding when needed.

The mouth sensitivity problems I was having before have eased, and I think were mostly caused by dry mouth. I've upped my liquid consumption, and I've been using Biotene which seems to be helping.

PlinkyPlonkyDonkey · 14/08/2024 13:09

I've felt like I'm a slow-but-steadish loser. I've been feeling a bit frustrated over the last few days, but writing it out like this has helped a little

Week 1: -2lb
Week 2: -3lb
Week 3: - 2lb
Week 4: -3lb
Week 5: no change
Week 6: -3lb

I'm not exoecting much of a loss this week despite my best efforts - it's weigh day on Friday and I've not lost anything yet this week compared to last Friday.

I'm only 1 pound away from a 1 stone loss, so am optimistic I can reach that milestone soon 😊

They are great losses, I had 2 big losses at the beginning of 8 and 4 and the rest have been 2 or 3....I'm 21 lbs down in 6 weeks. I have to admit I was expecting more when I first started this, I thought I'd be dropping 4-5 pounds a week minimum lol but I really that's not healthy or sustainable

I had a health check as part of a life insurance policy, and a nurse came round to do a few measures, including weight. It's not the same scales as I have been using obviously, and my weight wasn't any different to my last weigh-in last Monday. I use the same scales at my GP for official weigh-ins, and plan to nip over tomorrow. A bit demotivating, but logically I know that scales can be different to each other, especially one that isn't calibrated and has been moved around a lot. Also holding on to the fact that I look different and my clothes are getting looser all the time. My weight crept up over the course of several years, so it's going to take a while to get to where I want to be.

I weighed on different scales last week as I was at my mums, there was a 7lbs difference from mine, so I weighed when I got home and recorded that weight. You're right in that no 2 sets of scales will weigh you the same so stick to 1 set, I weigh at the same time of day and do it 3 times to make sure each reading is the same

BamberGirl · 15/08/2024 09:39

I weighed in today 78kg, which is 12st 4
i was 13st 5 at the start of July so v happy with this.
Ive stayed n the 2.5 mg as working well and don’t want side effects.

last week I was meant to inject on Friday but we had a weekend away so I waited until Monday when back. It suits me to move the day too as would rather have suppression waning off over the weekend in case we go out. Haven’t told anyone I’m doing this so figure best to eat more at weekend if that makes sense.

even on 2.5 mg and with the delay I have found it good, eating small meals only and the desire to snack has just gone altogether which is amazing!

Yes good point. I'll ignore the figures from those scales!

@BamberGirl I've noticed that even if my hunger suppression isn't what I'd like, my desire to snack is basically gone. I'm not eating between meals, and I'm not craving sugar and carbs anything like what I was eating before. I don't thing it's only because of the injections, because I'm not dealing with as much stress as I was earlier this year when my eating was really bad. But that's a massive improvement as far as I'm concerned, regardless.

Thanks I've been posting on both without realising there's two 😂 is it full now? Think we need to make sure and fill the old one quicker in the future 😂

Lumirubin · 15/08/2024 10:25

Yeah it's full now so shouldn't be any more confusion. I probably made the new one a bit too soon!

Oh not your fault at all, you have to do it when you've a free window - it's in the rest of us to fill it up.

Really appreciate you keeping these threads going ❤️

In other news, I had read that Zava had sped up a bit so I ordered yesterday morning in the hopes of receiving it on Saturday (I don't need it yet but am not available next Wed or Thurs to receive it so trying to plan accordingly), unfortunately it hasn't even been approved yet which is even slower than last time I'm not bothered about receiving it quickly, it's just so hard to ensure you can be available to receive the delivery!

I'm sticking with them for now due to the price so will just have to put up with it 😂

It's very weird, I haven't had any issues with Zava, used them since I started and it's always been approved same day and sent out within 2 days, yet a friend of mine's took around 6 days to be approved and another 4 until it was sent out.

NewLifter · 15/08/2024 11:30

Maybe they don't like me 😂

My first was quick but my 2nd, I ordered on the 16th and received on the 22nd - so slow enough. This one is looking to be similar 😂

I'm still happy enough, I just wish we could choose a delivery day!

JugglingMumma · 15/08/2024 15:06

This is probably a really stupid question but just in case! I am about to order my second pen from Zava. Is there a way to get a discount on a second order? Or are all the codes people post for first orders only?

If someone has used your referral code it takes 15% off your order too. I didn’t see mine had been used until I clicked through my order so got my pen for £122

Happy Friday! Injection Number 7 this morning - second 5mg dose. Weigh-in Number 6:

Start weight: 15 st 8 lbs (BMI = 37.2)
Current weight: 14 st 3 lbs
Goal weight: 9 st 0 lbs (BMI = 21.5)
Week 1 Loss = 6 lbs
Week 2 Loss = 5 lbs
Week 3 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 4 Loss = 0 lbs
Week 5 Loss = 2 lbs
Week 6 Loss = 3 lbs

19 lbs gone in total over six weeks and the 13s are in sight! I remember when 13 something was a "fat weight" and now it's a (mini) goal.

No reactions to 5mg yet other than feeling colder than usual, even in the heat. Mind you, I am notorious for always feeling cold and needing a blanket.

A couple of NSVs this week. On Monday, my colleague said "You look like you've lost a lot of weight...have you?" Followed by "Oh...hopefully it's been intentional". I said that I've lost a few lbs on purpose and left it at that. I really hate a fuss. Then yesterday I wore a size 12 dress (instead of a 14) and it fit nicely. I was also able to wear cute ballerina flats without my ankles swelling up!

I wish that MN had "like" buttons and "care" buttons because there have been so many posts on the threads that I follow, both happy and not so happy, over the past week. It helps to be part of this whole community. Weight loss and self-care is not easy.

I love your posts as we are on the same journey!

I started at the same weight as you, albeit a week ahead and we are almost at the same current weight (you've lost a pound more than me!). Our goal weights differ though, I must be taller - my current BMI is 30, and I only want to get to BMI of 26 as that's my happy place that I believe I can maintain.

How are you getting on with 5mg? I still haven't made it there. Side effects after the 'bonus dose' made me go with 3.75mg which I've had 3 times now. Injected yesterday, so far so good. Had been getting bouts of severe tummy pain and diarrhea, last week was much better, will see how tomorrow goes but looks like I'm now adjusting to the 3.75mg.

Are you staying on 5mg do you think, or moving up? Maybe too soon to know!

My loss feels a bit slow compared to most but I'm feeling great, getting moderate suppression (able to eat enough for good nutrition and still enjoying food) so I think I've found a good balance. Just going to take me a little longer than I had initially thought!

My order is on its way, expected tomorrow which is exactly what I had wanted ❤️ took over 24 hours for approval but then was dispatched quickly. Really happy they've improved again as I would like to stick with them due to their price and I can't be bothered with the hassle of moving!

Hurrah, good news! I'm going to stick with Zava too, haven't had any issues with them, they aren't the cheapest out there but I also can't be bothered finding somewhere a few quid cheaper.

Mounjaroooooh · 16/08/2024 11:37

Does anyone else find the scales seem to stay the same for the majority of the week and then the losses start to show 1 or 2 days before your 'official' weigh in. I weigh on a Sunday morning but check in during the week and the losses start showing around Friday/Saturday

cappycap · 16/08/2024 13:56

7th weigh in today.
All 2.5mg jabs, not intending on going higher for the time being as I am happy with how my progress is going.

Not the fastest loss compared to others but I am eating all calories calculated for deficit for a 1.5lb a week loss so wouldn't expect massive drops.
Roughly 1550 cals per day. Sometimes slightly under or over.

28/06 - First MJ dose
05/07 - 6.2 lbs
12/07 - 2.2 lbs
19/07 - 1.4 lbs
26/07 maintained
02/08 - 0.12 lbs
09/08 - 2 lbs
16/08 - 2.2lbs

SW: 13st 6.8lbs
CW: 12st 6.6 lbs
GW: 10st 7lbs
Total Lost 1st 0.2lbs

KeepinOn · 16/08/2024 15:18

I haven't officially weighed myself since 5 August, and I'm only down 300g. But my clothes are fitting better and I think it must be muscle toning or something!

SW: 106 kg
CW: 99.9 kg
GW: 74 kg

Sub-100 is a good target to have hit, no matter how closely. 😅

Just keeping going.

I'm in exactly the same boat! Yet I tried on some work uniforms just before that and they were still too tight, yet they now fit perfectly 😀 no idea why it isn't showing on the scales, constipated maybe 😆

Oh to be taller - you are lucky...I am a shortie and small boned, so every ounce shows. I still have quite a way to get to a BMI of 30, but will get there and beyond.

5mg seems to be working for me, but so did 2.5mg and my one shot of 3.75mg. I need to order my third pen next week because I'll be working from home and can be available for a delivery. I'll stick with 5mg and see how it goes. I'm the same as you - good suppression and I can eat, just less. The lack of food noise is a miracle! I have two trips in October - one for work and one for holiday - so I would be thrilled to lose a stone between now and then, which I think is doable at my current rate.
