Sorry to hear that @SilenceInside. The price hike news is alarming, though I do still feel optimistic for the long term. With so much development going on of more of these drugs, I feel sure that the price will come down in the future as it becomes more competitive and perhaps new forms are introduced like a pill. Of course it's no good for people who simply can't ride it out, but I think there are only going to be more options going forwards. I hope so anyway!

I have had an injury issue come up and struggling with that but it is making me more determined to continue losing weight. It's been a challenging couple of weeks though so I haven't weighed and my activity levels are way down.

SilenceInside · 15/08/2025 12:28

@WeepingInASunlitRoom thanks, it's quite an unsettling time at the moment! I'm sorry to hear about your injury, and I hope it's improving for you. You are right that these potential set backs are an opportunity to build resilience. I need to not be thrown off course by unexpected issues, which is what would have happened before when dieting without the support of Mounjaro.

Increasing my exercise will definitely help with my mindset I think. I am experiencing a new feeling for me, which is that if I haven't done enough walking and runs in a week I start to feel really antsy and irritated. Not something I've had before, but I think it's indicative of it being a real habit now, so I miss it when I can't go on walks/runs for whatever reason. The discipline of following C25K has really embedded that I think.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 19/08/2025 09:17

I really relate to that @silenceinside - I am building up my physio routine and absolutely buzzing with endorphins this morning from squats and lunges. It's such a mood-lifter!

I'm being cautious about weighing as this month included an AI holiday (honestly was lots of salad, hardly any drinking and much swimming) and an injury that's kept me out of the gym, but my size 16 jeans are literally falling off so that's enough of a NSV for me!

I thought I'd already done a big wardrobe clearout, but now I'm getting rid of what I thought were my 'thin clothes' as they're too big for me. I have wavered and hesitated and fretted all the way through this MJ journey, but now I feel so determined I will not be going back there. I really expected to stop at 'overweight' but now I feel motivated and capable to get another two stone off (actually it's less than that?!) and make it to 'healthy weight' which I truly thought was absolutely impossible. I just hope that the price increases aren't the forerunner of any more difficulties and that we can all continue to get our prescriptions as long as we need them (in my case, I'm sure that's forever).

diian · 19/08/2025 10:32

I am back from holiday and ate what I wanted. I don't drink and I walked loads (45k steps some days). So I came back having put on 1lb, which I soon lost. I have now managed to maintain for 4 month MJ free. I have 1 pen left in the fridge for emergencies, use by date: Nov 25.

SilenceInside · 22/08/2025 09:48

Week 59 weigh in. Still here and still going 🏃

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 78kg (12st 3lbs), was 79.1kg (12st 6lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 14 weeks on this dose.

I am thrilled at a 1.1kg loss. You'd think I would know by now that everything will keep on working and the weight will drop off at some point. The 11st bracket is now tantalisingly close.

I feel a lot calmer about the price hike in Sept, now the shock has worn off and I am into the process of planning and managing the situation.

@diian it's so helpful to hear about people who are maintaining whilst no longer taking Mounjaro. I was thinking of staying on a low dose for a while, but have reconsidered that given the price rises and am giving serious consideration to perhaps just tapering down and then stopping.

@WeepingInASunlitRoom I have done so many rounds of wardrobe clearouts. I still can't quite get my head round the fact that I now have things that are size 14 that I actually wear. I have about another 1 and a half stone to go to duck into the "healthy" weight category., at 10st 11lbs. It's really starting to seem achievable.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 07/09/2025 09:14

Hopping back into the thread, hoping everyone is still doing well!

I've been wrestling this summer with a longstanding health condition. It was supposed to get so much better with weight loss but instead abruptly and dramatically worsened. I feel weight loss has been the silver bullet, the magic cure I've been told will fix everything for so long and - well, it isn't.

That said, I'd rather be dealing with this five stone down than otherwise - it's obviously better to have lost the weight anyway and I am still going. It's just been a shock to the system.

Anyway, due to that and the accompanying period of low mood, I am only just getting back my activity levels. I have pretty much maintained over the past five or six weeks - can't get below 12st 11lbs. I think I have felt quite safe to take it gently, being under 13 stone and under 30 BMI has meant I've been able to just catch my breath and not worry. It would have been unthinkable in the past that I could have had a few weeks like I just have and come out around the same weight, maybe a pound or two down (I haven't been tracking my weight so carefully). I would always have gained and given up.

As the weather turns, I think I need some lunch inspiration (wfh) as cold salads lose a bit of appeal. I realise I periodically reach diet fatigue where I really get tired of thinking about food and cooking and planning and prep so I'm actually giving Hello Fresh a go for some family dinners to give me a bit of space mid-week.

So just plodding on pretty much! Loving shopping for autumn clothes and finding so many that fit!

SilenceInside · 12/09/2025 09:48

Week 62 weigh in. It's been a while!

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 78kg (12st 3lbs), was 79.1kg (12st 6lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 18 weeks on this dose.

Well, I have been away on holiday and so skipped a couple of weigh ins. I seem to have stayed 78kg for 4 weeks, which I guess counts as a plateau now. I was away on holiday during that time so I think overall I am ok with staying the same weight. I've also had the period from hell during that time, and this week I have had a cold, so all in all I wasn't expecting to have lost really, given that I haven't been super concentrating on weight loss and haven't been consistently exercising.

I am 5 pounds away from reaching the 10 stone lost milestone, and I am 3 pounds away from getting under 12 stone, still tantalisingly close but just out of reach. Frustrating!

Part of me thinks that I should move up a dose, but I have a 10mg pen in stock and don't really want to pay the additional cost for a 12.5mg pen. So I will try to manage on 10mg for the foreseeable future. I will be tightly tracking calories this week and upping the exercise as well, to see if I can bust through this plateau and get the scales shifting downwards again.

On the positive side, I am now a definite size 14, which blows my mind a bit. My watch strap has gone in another notch - when I started, it was on the biggest hole and feeling a bit tight at that and now it's 4 holes smaller. I also have my annual blood pressure medication review this week, my BP is now Optimal which is fantastic. I will have a blood test as part of the review, so it will be interesting to see if there are any changes there from last time even though the results last time were ok.

@WeepingInASunlitRoom sorry to hear about your health issue worsening. It is a horrible shock for something like that to suddenly start misbehaving when you're hoping for continued improvement as you lose weight. Glad to hear that you are getting back into increasing your activity and trying out Hello Fresh for some new food ideas.

I am also excited by Autumn and halloween clothing, it's always a good time of year for those of us who tend towards the goth! I am getting used to being able to order things in my new size and just having them fit me and look nice. It's weird!

SilenceInside · 19/09/2025 09:51

Week 63 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 76.2kg (12st 0lbs), was 78kg (12st 3lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 19 weeks on this dose.

Very happy with a 1.8kg or just a whisker under 4 pounds this week. I am now bang on 12st and looking forward to seeing the 11 stone bracket next week. I have not been at this low a weight for about 20 years. The week before I decided to order Mounjaro I weighed 22 stone exactly, which is part of what tipped me over into deciding on trying WLI. I was 21st 12lbs when I did my first injection. So, today I have lost 10st since my absolute highest weight, and 9st 12lbs of that on Mounjaro. Seems quite unreal!

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 19/09/2025 10:36

That's phenomenal @SilenceInside!

SilenceInside · 19/09/2025 11:12

@WeepingInASunlitRoom thanks!

diian · 19/09/2025 12:52

@SilenceInside Wow!!!! Keep going. 11 st on the scales next week.

SilenceInside · 19/09/2025 13:03

@diian thanks. I am sure I've talked about it before, but it is just the long term consistency that Mounjaro has given me that has got the results. I would not have been able to sustain being in a calorie deficit for 15 months on my own.

I think I might be quite emotional when I see 11st something on the scales!

SilenceInside · 26/09/2025 09:26

Week 63 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 75.5kg (11st 12lbs), was 76.2kg (12st 0lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 20 weeks on this dose.

So..... officially into the 11st bracket! Woo! And also officially 10st lost since starting Mounjaro, BMI down from 50.4 to 27.4 and I've lost 45.7% of my starting weight.

I find it astonishing that I am still able to lose 1 to 3 pounds or so a week, each week, and just keep chipping away. I have never managed to maintain weight loss for this length of time ever.

diian · 26/09/2025 19:16

@SilenceInside Yehhhh!!!😀

User364837 · 02/10/2025 06:59

That's brilliant @SilenceInside!

I am quietly just plodding on, kind of maintaining now around 68kg (starting weight 88kg). BMI is still 26/27 but I'm happy with sticking around there.

Been having 8mg for the last 5 weeks or so, would like to see if I can reduce it and still maintain but I'm accepting that I will need it be on it long term/forever really.

SilenceInside · 03/10/2025 09:38

Week 64 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 75.4kg (11st 12lbs), was 75.5kg (11st 12lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 21 weeks on this dose.

A stunning 0.1kg "loss" this week, so I think I will consider that staying the same! I am not surprised as it was period week and I haven't been overly focussed on diet as a result. It's so hard not to view it as a waste of a week, but any loss, even a tiny one is better than a gain.

SilenceInside · 10/10/2025 14:45

Week 66 weigh in. The week seems to have rolled around super quickly this time. And I think I have miscounted weeks at some point, as I thought this was week 65 but my spreadsheet says 66...

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 75.1kg (11st 11lbs), was 75.4kg (11st 12lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 22 weeks on this dose.

A 1lb loss this week, I will definitely not complain about a loss, any loss, at this stage. Happy to consolidate being in the 11st bracket. BMI is now 27.25.

Thought I'd post some progress pics as I have lost 10st plus now.

Amazing photos! You must feel fantastic and so proud. To lose over 10 stone is phenomenal, truly.

I'm on a long-running stall so haven't been posting. I have been dealing with some major health issues but glad to have had Mounjaro to keep me level while that's been processing. I have stayed under 13 stone and at a 5st+ loss for a couple of months now, maybe longer. And am just getting my head back into focus on getting the losses going again. My very low dose of under 5mg is well and truly wearing off, I am experiencing a lot more hunger and a lot less willpower! So am glad not to have gained, and from the start of November I'll be building up the dose again and getting out of this holding pattern. In the old days, this would have been it for the diet - I'd be well on the road of regaining and starting the whole cycle over. To have had MJ to stay balanced through a tricky time is honestly just as life changing as it was when I was losing at a faster rate. Staying under a BMI of 30 has been great.

So I'm 12st 10lbs right now, and I have a big event next June that I'd like to be comfortably in the 11s for. My goals are necessarily much more modest than they were but I'm confident about getting there!

diian · 10/10/2025 18:37

@SilenceInside Wow! Amazing photos... what a difference! Keep going.xx

SilenceInside · 17/10/2025 09:37

Week 67 weigh in. Still here, still going strong! 💪👋

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 74.1kg (11st 9lbs), was 75.1kg (11st 11lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal
BMI: 26.9

Current pen: 10mg, 23 weeks on this dose.

Pleased with a 1kg/2lbs loss this week I have been doing OMAD this week which has worked really well for me. Plus it was interesting to try something different for a change, this weight loss journey has been going on for a loooong time and it does get a bit meh sometimes. I am also pleased to squeak my BMI under 27 for the first time. It feels great to be in the lower half of the overweight category.

SilenceInside · 24/10/2025 10:18

Week 68 weigh in. Onwards and downwards, via some slight pauses...

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 74.1kg (11st 9lbs), was 74.1kg (11st 9lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal
BMI: 26.9
Current pen: 10mg, 24 weeks on this dose.

Stayed the same this week. It feels quite hard to make decent downwards progress at the moment, the odd loss followed by staying the same for a while. Makes me impatient and grumpy!

SilenceInside · 14/11/2025 10:36

Realised I hadn't updated here for a couple of weeks.

Week 71 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 73.4kg (11st 8lbs), was 74.4kg (11st 10lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal - achieved! 🎉🎊🍾
Final GW: 65kg (10st 3lbs)
BMI: 26.6

Current pen: 10mg, 27 weeks on this dose.

A 1kg loss this week. I will take 73.4kg as having achieved my 6th and last interim goal of 73kg. It's taken a good few weeks to push down into the mid 11st range, but now I am definitely heading towards my original final goal of 65kg/10st 3lbs. Starting to think that I can actually achieve it now! It's taken a while to properly believe it.

CLEO42 · 15/11/2025 13:54

@SilenceInside I love seeing your updates. Keep ‘em coming! And well done on hitting your 6th interim goal weight 🌺

May I ask, do you shop around for your pen to get the best price or stay with the same provider? I can’t decide if shopping around is worth it

SilenceInside · 15/11/2025 21:55

@CLEO42 I have shopped around previously in order to take advantage of new customer orders. Now, my BMI is 26 and I have picked a pharmacy (SwiftDoctor) to stick with for maintenance. They are usually at the cheaper end without needing a new customer discount, and have been very responsive to date.

I don’t actually really know what I’m going to do for maintenance. I want to try to see if I can manage without Mounjaro, but I definitely don’t want to have any significant regain. So maybe a lower dose longer term.
