The first thread was almost full, so I thought I'd start a second so we can carry on the fab support!
I don't think I could manage tagging everyone!! But here is the link to the first thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5101435-mounjaro-july-2024?page=1

I've finally shifted 2lbs after sitting steady for 10 days. Strangely I ate more yesterday than I have all week! I do wonder if I am undereating and need to start properly tracking my calories, I haven't really been so far.

So my stats in week 7
Starting weight 18st 1lbs
Current weight 16st 2lbs
Total lost 1st 13lbs

So tantalisingly close to that 2 stone and a new number on the scales! Hoping now I've had my plateau I have a few weeks of consistent loss, even if it's just a pound or two each week!

That's fantastic lumirubin!

I usually find that a day of eating a bit more can get things moving on the scales too. I always track my food - to ensure I'm hitting an absolute minimum of 1000 cals but preferably 1200-1300 cals. I also like to keep an eye on my protein intake, aiming for an absolute minimum of 80g, but preferably 90g.

I weight training so protein is very important to me. I know I won't gain much muscle on such a calorie deficit but hopefully can at least maintain what I have whilst losing fat.

GoSummer676 · 08/08/2024 09:07

I stuck at 2.5mg for 7weeks @NewLifter as I can easily stick to the same calories and protein as you are it’s working for me. The drug is intended to help you maintain a calorie deficit not make you ill so some of us will be more sensitive than others. I’m counting clicks on the 5mg pen.

@Lumirubin yes everytime I’ve stalled I’ve had a dinner with more carbs and then lost over the next 2-days. It’s fine balance between needing a calorie deficit & under/over eating with my body. If I mix up my exercise do a body weight session of just 30-40mins instead of a run that has shifted the stall as well.

GoSummer676 · 08/08/2024 09:08

Interestingly my measurements and body fat percentage are changing more than my overall weight in the last 2-weeks. My fat % keeps dropping and inches coming off my waist but only 1-2lbs lost.

Mounjaroooooh · 08/08/2024 09:32

I haven't taken any measurements and I don't look like I've lost any weight yet as I have a chunk to lose, but I did put a jacket on this morning which was previously a bit too snug...zipped up with ease and room to spare 💪

I've always enjoyed the experience of clothes fitting better rather than numbers on the scale going down. :) Congrats to people's achievements this week!

I won't be weighing myself again until next Friday (don't have scales at home, I'm using the GP's!) so in the meantime I'm trying on clothes and watching them get looser/more comfortable. Huzzah!

It is a great feeling isn't it. I've had an expensive winter coat that my now ex bought me, never really fit me properly. When I've lost a few more pounds I'm going to try it on, hopefully if it doesn't yet fit I'll get into it for Winter this year. I've had it 12 years lol, and it's always been "maybe this year" lol

KeepinOn · 08/08/2024 10:37

Fingers crossed for you!

User364837 · 08/08/2024 13:18

Oof just moved up to 3.75mg after 5 wks @ 2.5mg and finally think I feel the suppression everyone else was talking about: up until now I’ve felt a lessened appetite but hadn’t lost interest in food or not felt like eating. Just went out for lunch with the kids, no hunger whatsoever, got the lightest thing on the menu (soup) and really struggled with it.
i sort of hope it lessens a bit as I’d like to be able to eat 3 moderate meals a day.

Lumirubin · 08/08/2024 14:14

@GoSummer676 funny you should say that, because in the 10 days that the scales haven't changed I definitely feel like I've lost some chub in that time! Ive had to order a new uniform at work, it was never tight on me but now it looks like it belongs to someone else. Noone at work really commented on my weight loss until this last week. So I must look different this week with 0lbs lost that I did the week before! I think I need some better scales that measure body fat %age

Morning. Weigh-in day for me after 5 weeks, 4 at 2.5mg and one so far on 5mg:

SW: 139kg (21st 12lbs)
CW: 126.9kg (19st 13lbs)
GW: 125kg (19st 9lbs)

I'm really happy to have squeaked into next stone down, and no longer have a weight in stones that starts with a 2! I have a long way to go to get to my final target weight, but I am amazed to be close to my first goal weight which would be 10% off my starting weight.

I'm away on holiday next week, so it will be interesting to see if I get any loss at all - I'm hoping to avoid a gain!

KeepinOn · 09/08/2024 09:23

Congrats, @SilenceInside !

I'm on my 2nd week of 5mg and not really feeling the suppression this week. :/ I think moving up to the next dosage is definitely in my future. I get very few negative side-effects also, I've had vague nausea that lasts less than a day, and that's it. I'm working to keep my portion sizes low regardless, but I'm disappointed that I'm feeling hungry despite the injection dose increase.

Mounjaroooooh · 09/08/2024 10:13

Well done @SilenceInside

Is anyone else getting acid reflux since being on MJ? Prior to MJ I've had it a couple of times after eating fatty/greasy/spicy food but now, I'm getting it quite a lot and after fairly bland food like chicken breast, mackerel, bread

I hear you, my suppression was great for a few days after my first 5mg jab on Sunday, now it's disappeared, I'm going to finish the 5 obviously but I've already got a 7.5 waiting in the fridge

Emeraldpies · 09/08/2024 11:02

Congratulations on the weight losses and yay to baggier clothes! 🥳

I've just finished my fifth week. I managed to get 0.7ml out for my fifth dose last week so a little over 2.5mg. I will be starting 5mg tonight.

I'm still yet to experience any suppression or silencing of food noise but I did find an interesting drug interaction site. Apparently one of the tablets I'm on for my high blood pressure can reduce the effectiveness of Mounjaro. Maybe I won't feel any effects until I get to the higher doses.

Disappointing weight loss this week and only lost 0.6 of a lb so 17.2lbs down since starting Mounjaro.

diian · 09/08/2024 16:23

I hit 11st 13.75lb this morning- Yeh!

Thanks for the 10% heads-up @SilenceInside and congratulations on your weight-loss. I used a 10% calculator and realised that I have lost 18lb (10% of my body weight).

Yes! I do get it occasionally but more frequently now. However I can live with it.

Mainly because I’ve lost a stone without making any changes at all to what I’m eating. In fact I weighed myself for the first time (6 weeks in) and was genuinely shocked at the loss.

I’m just eating less of my normal diet and don’t feel like eating anything too greasy, too carb heavy or too sweet. Still drinking wine - again, I don’t want as much - and going out for meals.

But the biggest different for me has been my mood. I feel like myself again. My menopausal post-COVID general misery has completely lifted and I have more focus, more energy and am generally happier.

Anecdotal I know but I was on Ozempic before - lost little weight - and it made me properly miserable. Mounjaro has been an absolute game changer and I hope it continues exactly like this.

I am trying to focus on percentage lost as well - I think it takes you away from "I have only lost XX lbs" and makes you think long term about the sucess you are having.

EternalFatalist · 09/08/2024 18:24

Happy Friday! Injection Number 6 this morning - First 5mg dose. Weigh-in Number 5:

Start weight: 15 st 8 lbs (BMI = 37.2)
Current weight: 14 st 6 lbs
Goal weight: 9 st 0 lbs (BMI = 21.5)
Week 1 Loss = 6 lbs
Week 2 Loss = 5 lbs
Week 3 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 4 Loss = 0 lbs
Week 5 Loss = 2 lbs

16 lbs gone in total over five weeks, which is 5.5% of my starting weight. I'm looking forward to getting to the 13s.

No reactions to this morning's jab yet...fingers crossed it stays that way.

@Emeraldpies interesting about blood pressure drugs - which one is it, if you don’t mind saying?

Emeraldpies · 09/08/2024 21:59

@TheNorthernTights It was indapamide. This is the website that you can check drug interactions on. www.drugs.com/interaction/list/

TheNorthernTights · 09/08/2024 22:39

@Emeraldpies thanks for that, off to check!
