My sympathies, that must be so frustrating! But to be so close to goal is amazing in itself. I guess your body is just fighting this last bit really hard. I have no suggestions, I can only imagine how annoying that must be!
I am in a bad place with MJ now. For two weeks, my normal dose of 5mg that I've been taking for four months with no problem suddenly brought on diarrhoea, vomiting and disgusting sulphur burps. No change in my diet, no change in the dose. It was awful.
So I skipped last week's dose altogether and went on holiday. A really active, busy holiday - 15k+ steps a day, cold water swimming, stayed hydrated, no snacking and no alcohol. Lots of salads, fresh fruit, veg, meat and fish. My indulgences over the week were one kid's portion of fish and chips, one hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and one sourdough pizza (not all on the same day!). My appetite didn't roar back off MJ, I was really pleased with how normal I felt - the new normal, I guess, where hunger and appetite feel reasonable and proportionate.
Well, I weighed myself this morning and I've gained 3lbs. My weight loss is never more than 1lb a week, so clearly I can gain at three times the rate I lose.
I am back on a 2.5mg dose of MJ and hoping the gastro symptoms don't come back. I feel trapped between a rock and a hard place - clearly, I cannot manage without this drug but I also cannot manage the gastrointestinal havoc that it can create. I still don't know why a 5mg dose suddenly started to disagree with me and I don't know if a 2.5mg dose is going to be enough to lose weight. I still have a BMI of 32 (thanks to this 3lb gain, it was 31 when I went away!) I have to lose a couple more stone and I have to find a way to keep it off.
