The first thread was almost full, so I thought I'd start a second so we can carry on the fab support!
I don't think I could manage tagging everyone!! But here is the link to the first thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5101435-mounjaro-july-2024?page=1

Ah my July tribe. Everyone is doing so well!

I’m a slow loser, but happy with my 2-3 lb per month. I’ve lost 31lbs since last July, and have gone from size 20 to size 16 and my BMI recently dipped under 30 and now 29.8.

I’m on my 3rd month of 15mg and resigned to my minimal response (compared to some others) and that I am half way to target.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 28/06/2025 08:57

I feel your pain @silenceinside I am hovering on 13st 4lbs and desperate to get to 13st 1lb which will mark five stone off! That would have been nice for the year anniversary which is approaching.

Great victory on the sports day chair, and amazing to be below BMI 30 @CLEO24 - these kinds of moments and markers make all the difference.

I had been feeling pretty good about myself and flip-flopped into feeling fat again - does this happen to you guys when you feel the difference in your body sometimes and at others feel almost like nothing has changed (even though it most demonstrably has!). I think it might be that jelly-like feeling my body sometimes takes on right before it drops a bit of weight - again, anyone else get this? It feels like some of the flab gets jiggly and then whoosh there goes a pound or two on the scales and it's gone. At least, I hope that's what it is!

SilenceInside · 04/07/2025 09:45

Week 52 weigh in. 1 year anniversary on Mounjaro.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 82.8kg (13st 0lbs), was 83.4kg (13st 1lbs), last week.
GW: 81kg (12st 11 lbs) fifth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 8 weeks on this dose.

So, as I thought, my body just doesn't want to let me through the 30 BMI barrier! My BMI today is 30.05!! And I'm 13st 0.5lbs. I've lost 0.6kg this week, or 1.3lbs. Any loss is a victory, so I will take it, begrudgingly.

NSVs this week include finishing C25K and starting the Beyond C25K runs - I ran for 35 mins non-stop for the first time. Genuinely a miracle compared to what I could manage a year ago. This last year has been transformational for me, it really has.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 04/07/2025 12:56

Great work on the C25K! That's amazing!

I was really surprised to see 13st 3lbs on the scales this morning because I had my weight verification call on Tuesday afternoon and was 13st 7.8lbs. I always weigh first thing; this was at 3pm. I wonder if it's normal to fluctuate by 4-5lbs over the course of the day?!

Anyway, I have a BMI of 30.8, got under the 31 mark. I go on holiday in one month and I am wondering if I might just be under 13 stone for it...

EternalFatalist · 07/07/2025 10:59

Good morning and happy Monday!

Friday was my one-year anniversary of being on Mounjaro. I'm currently on 7.5mg and it is working well. This morning, my weight was 10st 12lbs, so I have officially entered the 10s and am one pound off a five stone loss. This works out to having lost over 31% of my body weight, which boggles my mind.

It took a long time for me to notice any change, but I could finally start seeing it about a month ago. And I can also see the change in photos as well - I never really saw how large I was until I wasn't anymore.

I am also continuing my wardrobe purge - so many items are too big for me now and it is sad to see some lovely pieces go. However, it is also cathartic and I am now embracing colour when I buy new clothes. (My husband especially liked seeing me in yellow last week).

My goal is 9st, which would be a BMI of 23 - hopefully I will be there by the end of the year.

Hopefully everyone else is having a good journey as well.

diian · 07/07/2025 18:35

Wow! What a journey @EternalFatalist. You are doing amazingly well. What a difference a year makes. Who could have imagined how the scales will be reading for us a year on from starting our MJ journey. xx

SilenceInside · 07/07/2025 18:46

@EternalFatalist congratulations on the one year anniversary! 9st doesn’t seem like it’s all that far away for you, hopefully you’ll be there by Christmas. A 5 stone loss is such a brilliant result so far.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 09/07/2025 08:43

I'm five stone off on my one-year anniversary too! This week in Pilates I thought about how easily my body moves now that five stone isn't impeding me all the time.

Unfortunately, the most recent two pounds came off due to bad side effects, which are recurring for me even though I only took 4mg from my 5mg pen this week. It seems I can no longer go above 3.75mg without being very unwell.

I still have a BMI of 30 at 13st, am only a whisper away from being overweight instead of obese! I feel apprehensive that the losses will stall on such a low dose, and I also worry I'll lose my tolerance to even that. I want to stay on MJ long term so will be devastated if side effects make it untenable - I don't believe anything else will control my weight. I also can't understand why doses I've previously tolerated with no problem have now started causing this.

Love that you've started wearing yellow @EternalFatalist - it's so liberating!

EternalFatalist · 09/07/2025 11:44

Good morning. So I stepped on the scale this morning and "poof", one more lb gone, so I am now officially five stone lighter than a year ago.

I was out with friends last night, and they both told me that I am glowing. I am much happier these days...thankfully not all weight related.

SilenceInside · 11/07/2025 10:50

Week 53 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 82.2kg (12st 13lbs), was 82.8kg (13st 0lbs), last week.
GW: 81kg (12st 11 lbs) fifth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 9 weeks on this dose.

With this week's 1lb off, my total weight lost on Mounjaro is now 125lbs or 56.8kg. BMI is 29.8 and this is my first weigh in where I am officially not obese. Phew! Only took me a year and a week to get there 😁Glad to just be overweight for the first time in more than a decade.

Congratulations to both @EternalFatalist and @WeepingInASunlitRoom for hitting the 5 stone down mark! Onwards and downwards we go.

EternalFatalist · 11/07/2025 14:09

@SilenceInside 125lbs...that is absolutely phenomenal! It's amazing moving out of the "obese" category, isn't it?

Wishing you (and all of us) the best of luck on this continuing wellness journey. 😊

diian · 11/07/2025 20:06

@SilenceInsidewow! That is amazing! You must feel like a different person!

SilenceInside · 18/07/2025 09:52

Me again! Still going, onwards and downwards.

Week 54 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 81kg (12st 10lbs), was 82.2kg (12st 13lbs), last week.
GW: 81kg (12st 10 lbs) fifth interim goal
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 10 weeks on this dose.

Very happy with a 3 pound, 1.2kg loss this week, taking me to my fifth interim goal of 81kg, so now I'm gunning for my sixth interim goal of 73kg. That's my last interim goal, after that it'll be my final target weight I'm aiming for.

It seems surreal that I am now well into the 12st bracket and heading towards the lower half of it.

RobinEllacotStrike · 23/07/2025 10:14

Hi - It is my MJ anniversay and though I don't usually post on the July 24 threads anymore (I post mainly on the 30kg + thread) I wanted to pop back with my anniversary stats:

Starting weight - 124 kilos
Starting BMI - 41 "morbidly obese"
Current weight - 87 kilos
Current BMI - 29 "overweight"

Loss to date: 37 kilos / 5 stone 11lb / 81lb

Goal - 74 kilos. This will be top of "healthy" BMI. I'm 174cm tall (5'8" ish). That is a further 13 kilos / 2 stone to lose. Maybe by Xmas? I'm in no rush.

Hot Pod Yoga classes since starting mid November 2024 = 206

I'm very happy. I feel wonderful, strong, healthy, glowing even.

Side effects - I feel cold much of the time & all this talk of a "summer heatwave" is a bit perplexing.

I have learnt I am an unreliable narrator when it somes to my body. As much as I can see & feel the changes, in many ways (this is difficult to express) my internal dialogue about my body is unchanged. So while I see & feel many many changes, I also feel the same. What I am taking from this is I have some strange ideas embedded in my head about myself/my body that are inaccurate & harmful - so I am now aware of them & can deal with that. I counter these embedded ideas with facts - the scale numbers are helpful. I've learnt to weigh myself without drama or judgement.

I love how calm MJ makes me feel. After all the initial getting started & "oooh it bloody works" excitement I have really loved being able to settle in, get on with my life, while losing weight at a steady reliable pace.

The kitchen roll effect is real and I see it more & more each day now.

SilenceInside · 23/07/2025 10:50

@RobinEllacotStrike congratulations on your 1 year anniversary!

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 23/07/2025 11:40

I really understand what you're saying about the internal dialogue about your body @robinellacotstrike - and the sense of calm you describe at the steady reliability of this process, a year in.

I am in another stall; I've hovered before and will hover again! Really annoyingly I am stuck bouncing between 13st and 13st 1 on a BMI of 30 and it would be SO NICE to see a 12 and a 29 instead. But I am stressed to the eyeballs with work right now, pulling long days and just getting through a tricky period. My dose of 3.75mg is too low, it's why I'm not losing and I am definitely feeling it from a snacky perspective but I am maintaining and once this period of work slows down I will reassess. I can't afford to be ill right now so can't try to increase my dose again until I have a bit more time and space. The main thing is - this is what would have derailed any previous weight loss attempts. This time, I can set it aside, keep on an even keel and not decide that this is the end and give up. I will break into the 12s and I will get into an overweight BMI. It is just going to take a bit longer.

For a long time I thought I would be happy just to get here, but now I do feel motivated to keep going - however long it takes! I cannot imagine a BMI of 25 or under, but maybe the closer I get the more possible that will seem.

RobinEllacotStrike · 23/07/2025 12:08

I felt like I hovered around BMI 30 for most of 2025 - keep going 😁

I love this "the sense of calm you describe at the steady reliability of this process," - the steady reliability of this process indeed.

diian · 23/07/2025 17:13

@RobinEllacotStrike Well done! You are doing amazingly well. The kitchen roll theory is very real!

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 26/07/2025 17:31

12st 13.8lbs today and a BMI of 29.8!

I probably won't dare weigh myself for a week or two as it will only take a tiny fluctuation to push me back into the 13s and 30. But as of today, I am not the only obese person left on the thread; I've joined the overweight gang - hooray!

diian · 26/07/2025 18:45

Yeh!Well done @WeepingInASunlitRoom

SilenceInside · 26/07/2025 22:55

@WeepingInASunlitRoom ah that’s a brilliant update, congratulations!

SilenceInside · 01/08/2025 11:09

Week 56 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 79.1kg (12st 6lbs), was 81kg (12st 10lbs), 2 weeks ago.
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 11 weeks on this dose.

I missed a weekly weigh in last week, and injected two days early due to going on holiday. I was kind of expecting to stay the same weight as a result of being away and eating very differently than I have been, so I am amazed to be down 4 pounds from my weigh in two weeks ago. And in the bottom half of the 12s, and under 80kg!

SilenceInside · 08/08/2025 18:18

Week 57 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 79.4kg (12st 7lbs), was 79.1kg (12st 6lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 12 weeks on this dose.

A 300g gain this week, no idea why, not doing anything particularly different, other than having not done any running this last week. I am back into running this week and will keep that up, hopefully that will help with weight loss!

Gingercar · 08/08/2025 22:05

Mounjarorookie · 06/08/2024 13:02

progress update -
SW - 13
end of week 1 weight - 12 10
end of week 2 weight - 12 7

so 7 down, 43 to go 😊

so half a stone down which I’m fine with. Was really noticeable this week that the suppression waned about day 4 so I may delay my jab by a day next week to see if that helps over the weekend.

I do feel tired but it’s manageable and I’m happy with the losses so far. I’m toying with staying on 2.5 for a while a I would rather lose slowly so it’s much less noticeable to others. That might seem really shallow but in the past when I’ve lost weight I’m mortified when people comment on it at all and I’d really rather nobody twigged. I also seem to self sabotage when it’s going well so slower is better then I can hopefully manage it better.

I will be so happy when I can find something in my wardrobe that suddenly fits - I’m still about 7lb away from that though!

I have mixed feelings about the cost as £229 per month is a lot but I’ll find it somehow.

for those using Voy - if I decided to stay at 2.5mg how would I tell them? I can’t even work out how to tell when they send the next pen. I feel really thick as I’m sure it’s crystal clear to most people.

Edited

I’m not sure if anyone answered you, but go into “plan” on the app and it should show your next order. Then you can change dose. A clinician has to approve it, but it’s usually done by the next day.

SilenceInside · 15/08/2025 10:37

Week 58 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 79.1kg (12st 6lbs), was 79.4kg (12st 7lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 13 weeks on this dose.

What a week. Totally blindsided by the price hike announcement, and then alarmed by the panic buying that has meant my supplier went totally out of stock of all doses yesterday. I have enough medication for a few weeks, and can probably stretch to afford the pens ongoing until I reach target, I hope. But it's a big ask and I will need to take on more work. Thankfully I can do that at the moment.

On top of that, I feel like I am stuck in a bit of a plateau/rut. I have dropped the 300g to get back down to 79.1kg, but that very much feels like no progress made for the last two or three weeks. I now feel like I have to make every week count, which is just putting too much pressure and stress on me! Which doesn't help with positive thinking around diet and exercise. Argh! Need to get into a good headspace.
