The first thread was almost full, so I thought I'd start a second so we can carry on the fab support!
I don't think I could manage tagging everyone!! But here is the link to the first thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5101435-mounjaro-july-2024?page=1

@diian I'm dropping dose this week too after last week's tummy troubles! I've done 4 weeks of 7.5mg but I'm going to take 5mg today and then 2.5 on Saturday before I fly on holiday. I don't want to go cold turkey because apparently that can have side effects, but I don't want this level of tummy upset if I have dessert on holiday! I'm going to a place known for it's carb heavy mains and creamy desserts!! Wish me luck 😂

I took my bonus dose yesterday, it was a full 5mg with a little extra, and wouldn't you know it, in the night I was woken up with digestion issues. Gah. That's absolutely confirmed I won't be moving up to 7.5mg, despite feeling like I've also plateaued a bit this week. But I'm also seeing improvements in my strength so it isn't all bad at all - I'm not lifting weights officially but we are working on a hefty landscaping project in the garden and I'm shifting large amounts of soil, stone, and HUGE concrete paving slabs, which is feeling easier to manage all of a sudden. Just need to focus on the long-term benefits of this, not just short-term.

JaneFallow · 23/09/2024 20:16

Thinking I might do 5 x 6mg from a 7.5mg pen next time.

Lumirubin · 24/09/2024 17:29

I think we must all have a sweet spot. 5mg for me the suppression was wearing off after 4 days or so, my weight loss had slowed and I felt ready for the next dose. Did 4 weeks of the 7.5 and although weight loss continued so I felt better on the whole by the end of the 4 weeks, it's been rough! Mostly gastric symptoms, sulphur burps and general exhaustion. I took 6mg this week and the difference in the way I feel is unreal! Just had my first normal bowel movement in about 2 weeks (sorry tmi), I have more energy, I have a good level of suppression but I'm adequately hungry at meal times. I think 6mg is my sweet spot. Means lots of counting the clicks, but I'm ok with that! I'm still going to drop to 2.5mg next week when I'm away, but I'm feeling more positive about the whole journey again. Also, I did a mid week weigh and despite dropping down on dose, I'm loosing better this week than any of the last 4. Mid week and I'm already down 2lbs. Id love to get another 2 off before Monday to officially be 3 and a half stone down before holiday, but I'm pretty damn happy with 3 stone 5!

You only need to count clicks once, peeps. Just mark your pen with a biro or felt tip, and next time just turn it to the pen mark.

User364837 · 24/09/2024 18:41

I agree @Lumirubin. I’ve felt loads better on 4mg this week than I have been on 5, and lost more weight!

Lumirubin · 24/09/2024 19:47

Good plan @IrisPallida, I'll do that when I start my next pen.

Glad you are feeling better too @User364837 hopefully this is the key to plain sailing for us now!

Why did I not think of this?! I did 7.5mg from a 5mg pen last week and started counting clicks from the beginning god knows how many times because I lost count! Will do it once and then mark up for this week's jabs - great tip!

How have other people set their goals? Have you got final goals or smaller chunks on the way that you're aiming towards? I've seen some people have set small rewards for reaching various milestones.

Catching up on thread properly and saw this, @LucyBnotG

I haven't weighed myself in a while so I have other ways to notice improvements - I'm stronger, I'm fitting in clothes better, my rings are more comfortable. I take pictures of myself and create side-by-side collages of pictures from earlier in the year at the same angle/posture. I've stopped snoring so badly at night! Things like that. I was really squeezing myself into too-small clothes for a while there, so I haven't needed to radically overhaul my wardrobe (apart from jeans), but I've bought a few things from Vinted as a treat.

I'm trying not to set loads of goals in mind, because I need to be comfortable with this being an ongoing experience rather than a singular event. I don't want to feel like this is 'done' and then I'll slip back into old habits in future.

BamberGirl · 25/09/2024 12:01

Hi all…weighed in today. Finally some movement on the scales after a 2-3 week plateau. Down to 73.9 kg (11st 9). Very happy as have now lost 12 kg since end of Jun.

I went up to 5 mg this week to try and give myself a boost, was a bit nervous about side effects but ok so far, just usual occasional burps.

like others have said my clothes feel so much better, was clearly squeezed into them before and must have been bulging out, they’re now loose which is fab!

glad that the symptoms are settling for those of you that had unpleasant effects!

The side by side pictures are such a good idea. I wish I'd taken more before the start of the journey but I have been avoiding mirrors for years. Buying new clothes from Vinted is a great idea, especially as the weather is turning and we'll need a few extra layers.

My sister told me to take measurements, so I took bust and waist after my second injection. My clothes feel looser too! I have a pair of pyjama bottoms that are my least favourite because of the waistband. I put them on last night and they fit so comfortably!

Such a good point on the 'this is done' mentality. It's so important to see this as an ongoing experience.

User364837 · 26/09/2024 13:30

Has anyone changed to medexpress? I’m currently with Zava and considering getting at least one from med express because with the initial code it’s cheaper ( £109).

but then Zava isn’t too bad, I’ve got two referral codes left so paying £122 currently.

BMI is 32 so still a while before I need to worry about changing to a maintenance friendly supplier before I go below 30.

just wondering if it’s worth the hassle at this point if they need pics etc, or if I should use my remaining discount codes at Zava then think about it

MounjaroMunchie · 26/09/2024 13:56

I've just swapped from Zava to MedExpress @User364837 as with the £40 referral code,(I have one if you ne D one, please PM me) they were cheapest for the 7.5mg pen, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience after hearing a few horror stories! It was prescribed and dispatched within hours of me ordering, and arrived ice-cold the following day with wipes, needles, and a mini sharps bin.

MounjaroMunchie · 26/09/2024 13:58

I forgot to add @User364837 that they did want a body photo (but not one of me on the scales) and I took a photo of the label on my 5mg pen box from Zava to evidence that I wasn't starting from 2.5mg

IrisPallida · 26/09/2024 13:58

I am not aware of any supplier refusing people who have a BMI below 30 as long as they can prove that they were at a higher BMI when they started on Mounjaro. Most simply ask for a photo of your previous pen or a similar proof.

So there is no rush to change suppliers by BMI 30.

User364837 · 26/09/2024 14:07

Thanks both
that’s good to know about the BMI. Hopefully things are better now but I think I read on earlier threads that some suppliers were only offering maintenance if you’d been with them all along or something.

Lumirubin · 26/09/2024 16:38

Interested to see how easy people have found swapping. I'm probably going to swap away from Voy at some point because they've changed their referral system. It was 50% off if 1 or 2 people used your code and 100% off if 3 did, so I've only ever paid £114 or got it for free twice! But now it's 30% off if 1 or 2 and 60% if 3 people use it. So still not bad, but it'll work out cheaper elsewhere unless I consistently get 3 referrals each month. I haven't posted my code anywhere since the MN ban came, only on the official discount thread but it's obviously getting a decent amount of use. As soon as that stops I think I'll be headed elsewhere. The coaching has been good, but not enough to make paying full price worth it. Full price is £120, 30% off is £160 and 60% off is £90.

KeepinOn · 26/09/2024 16:48

I've been ordering from Oxford Online Pharmacy who usually have a 10% or 15% code floating around online somewhere or sent to my inbox as standard each month, so I've stayed with them since I switched away from Voy in August. But I don't know what their maintenance programme is like, or if they even have something planned out for patients, so I have emailed them asking for a pharmacist to let me know. I'll report back what I find out.

It's been 13 days since I weighed myself, and I've lost 2.6kg, which surprised me tbh! I haven't noticed any changes particularly, but it's definitely a steady downward trend. I'm about 4.5 kgs away from a mere 'overweight' BMI. Pretty damned pleased about my progress on so many fronts, not just the numbers on the scale.

Lumirubin · 26/09/2024 16:52

Full price £220, not £120 (I wish haha).

I've just been looking back on my scales app at my graph since the start, it's really quite a boost seeing it like that! I'm just hoping my holiday doesn't derail me like I've done in the past!

It's my weigh-in day today. This week I've had absolutely no side effects and felt very calm and peaceful about the whole process. Today is 12 weeks/3 months since starting and I am very happy with my progress and current situation. I am on a 7.5mg pen atm, but titrated up with the previous 7.5mg pen having had some side effects on 5mg. Happy to continue on 7.5mg for now.

Current stats:
SW: 139kg (21st 12lbs)
CW: 116kg (18st 3lbs)
GW: 112kg (17st 9lbs) interim goal
Total Loss to date: 23kg/51lbs or 3st 9lbs.

My weekly losses in pounds have been:

Week 1 -9
Week 2 -2
Week 3 -7
Week 4 -3
Week 5 -6
Week 6 -4
Week 7 -1
Week 8 -4
Week 9 -3
Week 10 -4
Week 11 -3
Week 12 -5

Lumirubin · 27/09/2024 11:28

Well done silence. They are great losses. It's odd how we seem to have better losses once the symptoms settle! You are so close to your interim goal!

User364837 · 27/09/2024 14:57

Wow I didn’t know that’s how voy worked. Have never seen someone lay out clearly what they get in return for the referral, I assumed it was a one off thing like you both get the £80 off or something,

Now I can see why there’s always the desperation for people to get others to use their Voy code if they can potentially pay nothing!

Lumirubin · 27/09/2024 15:59

@User364837 yeah it's well worth it if you can get someone to use it. Full price for the 4 months I've ordered I should have paid £880 in total. I've actually paid £372, so I've had on average 60% off and paid about £90 monthly. I haven't posted my code on here since the ban, but it still gets used so I think I've been lucky! My luck will run out eventually though and I'll change supplier then I think

Injection Number 13 this morning - eighth 5mg dose. Weigh-in Number 12:

Start weight: 15 st 8 lbs (BMI = 37.2)
Current weight: 13 st 7 lbs (BMI = 32.4)
Goal weight: 9 st 0 lbs (BMI = 21.5)
Week 1 Loss = 6 lbs
Week 2 Loss = 5 lbs
Week 3 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 4 Loss = 0 lbs
Week 5 Loss = 2 lbs
Week 6 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 7 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 8 Loss = 0 lbs
Week 9 Loss = 2 lbs
Week 10 Loss = 2 lbs
Week 11 Loss = 1 lb
Week 12 Loss = 2 lbs

My only side effect is still constantly feeling cold. The food noise remains quiet, so I've managed to stay in a healthy calorie range that allows for a steady rate of weight loss.

I'm heading on a business trip to the US next week and plan to keep my focus on healthy eating. I don't want to backslide after so much progress.

Wishing everyone a good weekend!
