@HotCrossBunplease thanks, I know what you mean about the odd hungry but not hungry feeling. I think I must have been having an odd day yesterday. I made myself eat lunch and something for dinner and have had a better day today.

I don't like tracking calories in general as it can send me into a bit of an obsession and I don't think it helps with long term weight loss for me. But, after feeling weird yesterday, I thought I had better track what I'm eating for a few days to be sure I'm not under eating. So I'm going to use MyFitnessPal again for a week or so and just monitor total calories compared to how I'm feeling.

Weigh-in Wednesday

Starting weight 13st 4 BMI 30

2.5mg pen: 4 doses plus bonus dose of 3.3mg
Week 1: 12st 13 (-5lb)
Week 2: 12st 9 (-4lb)
Week 3: 12st 7 (-2lb)
Week 4: No weigh-in (on holiday) No MJ injection whilst away
Week 5: No weigh-in (on holiday)
Week 6: 12st 4 (-3lb)

5mg pen: (2 weeks of 3.75mg 45 clicks, now up to 5mg- no side effects)
Week 7: 12st 1 (-3lb)
Week 8: 11st 13 (-2lb)
Week 9: 11st 11 (-2lb)
Week 10: 11st 9.5 (-1.5lb)
Week 11: 11st 7.5 (-2lb) (bonus dose of 0.6ml =5mg)

7.5mg pen (1st week 6mg, 48 clicks, 2nd week 5mg 40 clicks)
Week 12: 11st 5.5 (-2lb)
Week 13: 11st 2.75 (-2.75lb)

4 days after taking the 6mg dose, I had an upset stomach, running to the loo constantly and feeling drained. I went down to 5mg and pushed the jab back 2 days to Sunday. 2 days later the runs started again. I have been up in the night, running to the loo at work (teaching infants!). Not good. I am not going to risk being ill next week. I am going to take my next jab a week tomorrow (so any upset stomach happens at the weekend) and only take 2.5mg.

Total weight loss: 2 stone 1.25lb in 13 weeks. BMI 25.3 The only bonus this week is I have gone through the 2 stone mark, but feel ghastly and my best friend is a toilet.

Crysti · 17/09/2024 20:56

How much have you lost overall though?

Thanks for prompting me to look - I'm at 24lbs in 12 weeks. So despite the gain last week and the extremely dispiriting stall I'm in now that does average out at 2lbs a week overall. It doesn't feel great in comparison to the losses other people get, and I am very down about the ongoing lack of movement on the scales though I know stalls and plateaus are inevitable. My fear now is that I won't get any more movement on 2.5mg but I'm too afraid of a repeat of severe illness to increase now. Maybe I'll try pushing up to 3 or 3.75mg next week since I have a 5mg pen so can adjust the dose in increments.

I’m really similar. After having diarrhoea last week my digestion went back to normalish on Monday so I took a 2.5 dose from the 5mg pen, having done really well on 2.5 mg previously with no side effects. On Weds the runs started and I’ve been awake since 5 today mostly on the toilet. Stomach cramps too. I’m done, can’t keep having this. I’ve lost very little in the last 2 weeks, only half a kilo or so, despite eating well within 1400 calories a day and having the runs!

I have a stone to go, am just hoping I can shed it without the injection support. It was good to get me going, losing the first stone was pretty painless.

Lumirubin · 19/09/2024 08:37

It's odd how so many of us are struggling with diarrhoea now regardless of dose. I wonder if it's to do with long term build up/use of the drug given we have all been on it a similar amount of time now. It's been well over a week since I've had a "normal" bowel movement. I haven't weighed in a few days because I've got AF so there is no point because I know I'll be heavier, but I'm hoping that I'm still chipping away overall. I am experiencing awful period cramps though which has been noticeably worse since being on MJ, I'm convinced there has to be a link. Thankfully I am off today so only have parenting to contend with

I agree, it is useful to be following along with a group who are all at a similar stage. Diarrhoea definitely didn’t seem an issue in the beginning did it?

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 19/09/2024 08:44

It must be the build-up @Lumirubin - I know it's the most common side effect, but all the information out there says that the side effects settle down over time while we are all experiencing the opposite! I am glad not to be constipated, I guess there's that.

I'm also with you on the terrible period cramps. My already heavy periods seem heavier on MJ and far more painful and debilitating, and I've definitely seen other people saying the same. I wonder why? In the past, losing weight made my periods a bit lighter and less painful so perhaps that might start to kick in somewhere down the line?

HotCrossBunplease · 19/09/2024 08:48

Re build up, I’m sure I’ve read chat on threads about how it supposedly has a 5 day half-life and is more or less out of your system by the end of the week? Not sure how that squares with the idea of a build up. Maybe it’s more to do with the body getting fed up with the drug and rebelling!

Aworldofmyown · 19/09/2024 10:01

My period cycle has definitely shortened!!

24lbs in 12 weeks… that’s amazing!

BamberGirl · 19/09/2024 12:18

Weekly weigh in:
75.1 kg which is 11st 11.5 lb
Sw 85 kg so happy to be in the 11 bracket, not had that for years.

Ive defo had a plateau for 2-3 weeks and went up to 3.3 mg injection. No diarrhoea here, just the occasional pellets so must drink more water!

Hope the runs settle for everyone else!!!

MounjaroMunchie · 19/09/2024 18:47

I'm sorry to hear that lots are struggling, it is weird how it seems to be all of a sudden for a group of people at once.

I bit the bullet this morning after dithering over it, and moved up to 7.5mg. I'm on my second 5mg pen with two doses + bonus left, so I counted 2 x jabs of 45 clicks each to get 7.5mg. I feel fine so far and as long as that continues, I'll do the same next week.

I've got a 7.5mg pen in hand today after a surprisingly positive experience with Med Express. I've been with Zava from the start but decided to try ME as there was a £40 code which made them the best price for this dose. I ordered just after 10am yesterday and uploaded a body pic and photo of my 5mg dispensing label. It was prescribed at about 12pm, dispatched at 3-ish, and was delivered this morning with still-frozen ice packs. I doubt I'll order more than this pen from them, though - I think I need to move to a provider that supports maintenance.

diian · 19/09/2024 21:02

Med Express supports maintenance for up to 2 years I believe.

"To ensure you can maintain your weight loss and the healthy habits you’ve developed, our prescribers can continue to provide your weight loss medications for a period of two years after your initial order, even if your BMI is within a healthy range."

User364837 · 19/09/2024 22:01

After a couple of weeks at 5mg (2nd attempt at moving up) and gastro side effects I was finding hard to manage, I tried going to 4mg (48 clicks) on Tuesday and it’s been so much better. Weirdly the suppression has also been better and I’ve found it easier to control my eating because of not feeling so unwell. I didn’t even lose more on 5mg.
so would encourage others that if side effects don’t settle then to consider slightly reducing dose.

Lumirubin · 19/09/2024 22:35

Gives me a bit of hope that a few of us are experiencing worse period symptoms, hopefully they will settle back down when I come off.

I spoke to my coach at Voy and she's suggested I take a week off when I go on holiday next week so I can enjoy my holiday without having any side effects. I'm torn between taking a week off or just taking a much lower dose. I've been on 7.5 but I think this week I'm going to take 5 and then the week I go away I'll take 2.5. I don't want my body to reset too much and have to wean myself back on. Has anyone else taken a break?

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 20/09/2024 09:43

Morning to everyone. Just done my 12th injection which was the first time I've done the full 7.5mg. I've worked up to it having done 5mg twice, 6.25mg and now 7.5. Hopefully, I won't see the return of any side effects.

So, Friday weigh-in time again:

SW: 139kg (21st 12lbs)
CW: 118.1kg (18st 8lbs)
GW: 112kg (17st 9lbs) interim goal

Total of 20.9 kg down, or 46lbs, and a loss of 1.5kg/3lbs this week. I have now lost 15% of my starting weight, which seems like a mini-milestone!

HotCrossBunplease · 20/09/2024 13:04

Has anyone got really stuck at a certain weight? I have not lost anything for 2 weeks (no gains either) but I know I am eating just as few calories as I was when the initial stone came off. Is this what happens, your body just readjusts? Any tips how to kick start the loss again?

I don't know why it happens and I'm really frustrated by my own plateau, but I do know weight loss isn't linear and predictable and it will get going again - even if I can't make myself believe it!! Some people recommend eating a bit more for a day or two, again I don't know how that works if it does. I think these stalls just happen.

MounjaroMunchie · 21/09/2024 08:03

Week 13 weigh-in for me this morning and I'm very relieved to have had a decent loss after a crap couple of weeks!

After weeks of having no side effects, I have been experiencing some minor side effects this week, such as an upset stomach, however it seems better today. I really hope those people who have had a difficult week are feeling a little better today.

Weigh-in day and another steady but sure Saturday for me, with a loss of 0.6kg.

Week 1 loss 1.6kg
Week 2 loss 1.1kg
Week 3 loss 1.2kg
Week 4 loss 1.4kg
Total loss on 2.5mg = 5.3kg

Week 5 loss 0.8kg
Week 6 loss 0.9kg
Week 7 loss 0.6kg
Week 8 loss 0.7kg
Week 9 loss 0.9kg
Week 10 loss 0.4kg
Week 11 loss 0.5kg
Week 12 loss 0.6kg
Total loss on 5.0mg = 5.4kg

Total weight loss = 10.7kg (or 23.5lbs)

My appetite suppression is starting to wane but it is still enough to stop me snacking/eating junk food. I am enjoying the food I am eating and I am also able to eat food later in the evening without feeling uncomfortable. I was planning to move to 7.5mg next time, however, I am a little worried about possibly side effects, so I am going to wait until next Wednesday before ordering to see how I feel.

I am really pleased I have been able to continue this fairly steady weight loss. Plus it has been 12 weeks now, which starts to add up. Regularly exercising also helps. I am never going to be a fitness expert but I don’t hate it and I do feel much healthier as a result. At the start of this journey I was feeling quite tired/fatigued but now I have much more energy.

Well done SilenceInside, a 15% weight loss is amazing.

MounjaroMunchie - Great that you have persisted and loss weight this week. I am also thinking of changing supplier, so it’s reassuring to note that yours was so smooth.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, despite the awful weather!

Lumirubin · 21/09/2024 11:44

My tummy seems to have settled these last few days. I'm due to inject tomorrow, so I'm going to stick with 7.5 and hope for a better week symptoms wise.

Weigh day today
SW 18st 1lb
CW 14st 11lb
Total lost 3st 4lb

I was looking back at my first photo I sent to Voy last night with my DH and I couldn't help but laugh. I literally look like them filters that make you look fat but it's all out of proportion. I think I had pushed myself SO far beyond my usual weight so quickly that I literally blew up like a balloon and luckily it's come off equally as quickly. I'm glad I've got the photo to remind me how bloody awful I look when I let food get on top of me though!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and the symptoms are starting to settle for people

OP posts:
WeepingInASunlitRoom · 22/09/2024 09:16

I'm also on week 13 @mounjaromunchie and got a three pound loss after a two pound gain preceded by a stall!

Glad things have settled for you @Lumirubin I had the same starting weight but am still over 16 stone 😭 Very close to that magic two stone milestone though, only two pounds away...

I'm with you @LittleLlama that while suppression is waning a bit I am still not snacking or eating junk - I do feel quite happy with that, it's nice to eat and enjoy food in moderate quantities! And to have energy to exercise, that makes such a difference mentally as well as physically.

My stomach is still a bit unpredictable so I'm sticking on 2.5mg. Very occasionally my job involves meeting celebrities and I have a bit of a glam event next month for which I do not want to be dashing off urgently at any moment! I had hoped to be wearing a sleeker outfit than I'll manage, but it will be much better than it was a couple of months ago so I'll take it.

LucyBnotG · 22/09/2024 12:59

I took my ninth injection yesterday. I'm managing on the 2.5mg at the moment and very grateful for it. I lost 1.5lb so I'm down 24lb all in all which is great. Have also lost 3 inches from my waist!

I had a scarily high start weight so this 24lb doesn't feel as momentous as it should, as it is weight I have put back on in the last 3 years. My first goal is to reach 17st (238lb). After this I will feel like I've actually achieved something and can continue from there. According to my tracking app I could reach this by Christmas if I continue this rate of 1.89lb/pw.

How have other people set their goals? Have you got final goals or smaller chunks on the way that you're aiming towards? I've seen some people have set small rewards for reaching various milestones.

JaneFallow · 22/09/2024 13:41

Just about to do my 11th injection. Have hit my official half way mark assuming I want to go all the way down to a BMI of 23. Losing roughly a kilo a week at the moment - long may that continue. But I am assuming I probably have 20 weeks+ still to go if things slow further. That is on three small protein rich meals a day plus some nuts for snacking. (No calorie counting). My diet has drastically improved and this is how I want to eat long term. But a bit sobering how little food I actually need now I am an old lady!

Am going to celebrate by buying some nice things on Vinted and my self care is going to include really enjoying dressing myself in things I love. I've got load of things at the back of the wardrobe/in storage that I haven't worn since before the pandemic. I'm getting them out and if they are not still lovely, they are going!

diian · 22/09/2024 14:49

It is jab day for me, but after last week's upset stomach, I am putting the jab off until Thursday and only going to take 2.5mg from my 7.5mg pen.

This weekend I have felt rotten, had total suppression, so hardly eaten a thing. OH made pasta and meatballs and I only managed 6 bits of pasta yesterday. I have gone down 2lbs which means I have hit a BMI of 25. However, there is little joy when I feel so crap in myself.
