Thought it might be a nice idea for a thread to log our daily food plus current dose to help each other and newbies with ideas

the coconut yoghurt will have added sigar - but you could add some dessicated unsweetened coconut to plain yoghurt and let it sit for a while

MooFroo · 27/09/2024 17:11

@RobinEllacotStrike aaah ok! Hadnt even spotted the world style in the labels but explains a lot as I couldn’t understand why the protein was so low! Thank you :)

are you having Kefir instead of the Greek yogurt?

RobinEllacotStrike · 27/09/2024 17:14

Actual Greek yoghurt is strained so the proteins/solids are concentrated.

Greek STYLE is artificially thickened somehow so protein not concentrated.

I do like to take kefir for gut issues, so yes I will use that instead when I can buy it.

RobinEllacotStrike · 27/09/2024 17:18

Correction the kefir isnt Yeo Valley - here is a pic.

The bottom tub is proper Greek 🇬🇷 yogurt with 9gm protein

I find it really hard to eat anywhere near the protein I need to so every little helps.

@MooFroo 😂 always loved water so it really isn't a hardship 😁 I have always been amazed by people who don't tbh. I keep seeing people on fb saying they don't drink water and I really do not get why!
I have two glasses with breakfast (measured them a few weeks ago and the glass is 1/2 litre). 1 whilst I eat and another to take my supplements (possibly a third too).
If I go to the gym, that's another litre and then I have a massive Meoky cup which I just sip from all day and fill up at least twice. I also drink tea etc🤷‍♀️

And no, don't go to the loo all that often but when I do, I do!!! Weird actually, I was on holiday with a friend who goes all the time and she drinks so little she must be permanently dehydrated!

I use Rheal clean greens. There are flavoured ones from other places but many have sucralose in which I try to avoid.

I use full fat Greek yoghurt. Don't eat it on its own/with fruit etc as hate the taste and texture but love it in savoury dishes.

@IReallyNeedThisToWork Aw, thank-you! I'm using a Gousto discount code this week so a lot will be from that, but I also really like cooking and flavours, and really wanted to keep that up throughout MJ rather than depriving myself.

Broccolli patties - honestly not super successful, not sure what Gousto were thinking, but - cook broccolli, chop very finely; mix with egg, panko breadcrumbs, seasoning; shape into patties; bake in oven. I think the principle is kind of like potato or fish cakes, but broccolli is wetter and less starchy than potato so these didn't quite hold? But I like the principle of them and the taste was nice, so will try again with more flour/breadcrumbs later down the line.

WontLetThoseRobotsDefeatMe · 27/09/2024 21:32
