@gimmemounjaro it's a tough one and I really struggled with this in the first few weeks.

My thinking was that I don't want to get into a habit of eating when I wasn't hungry/really don't want to. I decided to focus on eating nutrient dense food, healthy fats and things I actually wanted!!

I will never be a person who just eats for fuel! 😂😂😂

Your tracker hasn't attached so I don't know what you are eating but it shouldn't be that difficult to hit 1000 calories if you are eating protein and fats.

This is what I ate yesterday, took me to 1100kcal and 86g of protein which is my highest ever 🙂

It was fine, but I just felt a bit over stuffed and uncomfortable. I like fasting so wouldn't really fancy eating an extra meal. Anyway when I do, I don't want any lunch 🤦‍♀️

B: decaf black coffee

L: chicken with red lentils and coconut, square of dark choc

D: 3 egg omelette with coriander, garlic, ginger, chilli and lemon plus some more chicken, handful of peanuts after

S: Trek protein bar

@gimmemounjaro I think your day looks fab and love the sound of your chicken!!
Did you eat the protein bar because you were hungry or just to boost protein? I don't like them and don't want to eat upfs if at all possible so avoid them completely!
I do believe people have got hung up on this 1g of protein for each kg you weigh thing tbh. The more I read, the more different opinions I come across! 0.8g is fine or 1g for the weight you WANT to be etc!
I reckon if you're feeling good on what you are eating and have plenty of energy then you are nourishing your body and doing what you should.
(I'm also not a big fan of BMR/TDEE etc! 😁)

I agree @IReallyNeedThisToWork - it's good to have protein as your highest macro during periods of rapid weight loss to try and avoid muscle wasteage or hair loss, but you only really need loads if you're actively trying to build muscle in the gym. I am, so I try and hit between 80-100g per day but actually, most women's protein needs may be much lower than that. This article explains it quite well and is from the British Heart Foundation, which I consider a good source:

B: Turkish breakfast - hard boiled egg, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, rocket, parsley - managing to only have one small slice of bread (baguette sized) to pick up my cheese! 👍😁 Green tea
L: half a cheese, mushroom and salami omelette, tomatoes, cucumber
D: sea bass, salad, handful of chips

>3 litres of water, too much rose 😩

Yesterday, week 8 - dose 5mg

B - Tea with collagen, half a pot of Biotiful cherry kefir, a serving of Biotiful gut health powder, satsuma.

L - 2 x Skinny Pig sausages, 2 x smoked bacon medallions, half a slice of toasted sourdough

D - Homemade pistachio chicken tikka, salad

Snacks - Latte with collagen, Babybel light, Go Ahead fruit slice.

1003 calories / 106g protein

Usual water / supplements /electrolytes

Does drinking collagen actually work? A doctor friend says there is zero point - you'll just pee it out. Best thing to do if lose weight slowly and do exercise.

What I ate yesterday:
B: banana and oat milk latte
Lunch: veggie quiche
Dinner: falafel salad

Snacks: far too many gin and tonics. Oops

L: chickpea salad, small cookie (made by colleague. Could have taken or left it.)

d: lentil and bottom of the fridge soup, chunk of bread

1,061 calories. 62g protein

L: homemade protein shake

D: cheese, crackers, apple, protein bar

S: 1/2 piece of homemade sourdough with peanut butter

Not the best, I was starving one minute (hence the bread) and too full to eat anything the next (hence no proper dinner)

Coffee with milk
B - smoothie made with oat milk, bowl of frozen berries, chia & pumpkin seeds and flaxseed, protein and collagen powders.

L - x2 ryvita with slice of gouda, cucumber sticks, handful of grapes.

S - Banana and protein snack bar

D - Pork skewers, cous cous, mixed veg.

Water inbetween and a diet coke with dinner.

@wickerpram I've taken collagen for years now, to help with my hair and nails due to PCOS issues. My skin is long beyond saving, only a surgeon can fix that!

On holiday and feeling rough from overindulging in rose last night!

B: hard boiled egg, cheese, rocket, tomatoes, cucumber. Green tea
L: picked some tomatoes, cucumber and tuna out of my friend's salad
D: small slice of bread with Turkish crumbly cheese and olive oil dip. Shared starter of artichoke with lemon, garlic and Parmesan. Muhammara (divine). Sea bass fillet with citrus cream sauce, black rice and asparagus

Usual supplements, 2 litres of water, revolting Diet Pepsi at the beach, 1/2 bottle of rose

D - Cottage pie with carrot & swede topping, peas, sweetcorn, and green beans

L - chicken breast in a mayo / Greek yog dressing with avocado on a protein bagel

D- rump steak with cauli hash browns and veg

S- Apple, latte with collagen

Lots of water

Just over 1300 cals and 108g protein

Week 1, day 7. (2.5mg)

Coffee with milk

B - Smoothie made with 300ml unsweetened almond milk, small bowl of frozen forest fruit, big scoop of chia and pumpkin seeds, flaxseed, pea protein powder, collagen and x2 large scoops of oats as felt I needed the carbs today.

L - x3 ryvita, slice of gouda, handful of grapes and cucumber sticks.

S - Banana

D - chicken breast filled with low fat philli, wrapped in parma ham. Mediterranean veg and small amount of savoury rice.

Feeling full, but excited for 2nd jab tomorrow.

L: bbq on a boat - 2 kofte, chicken fillet, meze
D: half slice of bread with crumbled pistachio. Sole fillet with prawns, roasted peppers, one new potato

Usual supplements, bottle of lager, half bottle of rose. Not enough water (c 2 litres)

b: oats, yogurt, peanut butter, berries, latte
l: cherry tomatoes and red pepper with cream cheese (should have been ryvita too but work was too nuts to pop out and buy them)
d: couldn’t face food, protein shake

Not enough food but I’m still getting to grips with it all

Week 10 5mg dose 6 day 7 (put that yesterday as well but today is definitely day SEVEN as I have done my jab tonight!!)

B: tomatoes, cucumber, rocket, hard boiled egg, Turkish cheese, small piece of bread, 2x small cheese and spinach pastries (my god, these were lovely!!)
D: Turkish balloon bread, olives. red pepper butter, king prawns in garlic gravy with mushrooms, peppers and green beans, more bread to mop up juice!

Usual supplements, green tea, half a bottle of lager at the beach at lunch time, NASTY small can of Coke Zero, vodka and orange by the pool this evening, 2 small glasses of rose with dinner, > 2 litres of water (probs nearly 3)

L: chicken with a stew of cannellini beans and veg, square of dark choc

S: handful of peanuts

D: homemade shake with banana, berries, spinach, kiwi, pineapple, flax, protein powder, milk

Just did my seventh injection tonight, haven't weighed for a few days so might see how I'm doing in the morning, although official weigh day is not until Saturday. In a way it doesn't matter too much as I feel good, I'm eating well, sleeping better and exercising most days so very happy so far.
