@dogdaydisaster id probably wait until Sunday because you don't know what your side effects might be. I think I only had mild side effects but not sure I could have managed 2 events on the bounce. I do think though that some of my side effects were sugar and caffeine withdrawal. I was tired too.

For the sake of not ruining your weekend I'd wait

Really impressed with the overall weight loss, 8.5lbs in 3 weeks so far with one last dose of 2.5 due tomorrow.

I was dieting prior to starting for 5 weeks but;
SW - 110.2kg
CW - 102kg

This takes me very slightly over 16stone so mini goals are to get in the 15s and then to get below 100kg.

I still feel hungry sometimes but it’s so much easier to not give in and I also definitely feel fuller much quicker.

focusing on 3 small meals and high protein and nutrients. I take lots of vitamins a day now just to try and keep up incase I’m missing anything from the foods I’m eating.

Hello, we are the same!!! But I am on Wegovy (1). Moving up to next dose at the weekend.

RMNofTikTok · 10/07/2024 22:02

Did my 10th injection today!

SW 19st 4.2lb
CW 18st 0.6lb
GW no idea! I'm just surviving each day!

I've left a message with weight management services to ask if I can drop my dose because I'm still barely eating and this week was ROUGH

I hope your journey is going well!

I weighed this morning and I am just in the 15s now, definitely given me a good boost!

I'm dithering about joining in. Any comments on the following:
This is a private purchase yes?
Do I need a referral from GP?
How have family taken it and how do you cope with eating meals with them?
Do you think you'll keep the weight off?

omega4ever · 10/07/2024 23:21

@Wishthiswasntmypost
Hello and welcome .
I highly recommend MJ. 12 weeks in and I'm 12 kgs down... most successful weight loss in donkeys years.
The main longstanding thread has loads of info for beginners and starters.... however...

  1. Most of us are paying privately
  2. Regulated Online pharmacies are prescribing and monitoring
  3. You dont Need a GP referral, but must meet certain points Bmi >30 etc.
  4. I told my Dh after I'd lost a stone. I have since told my best friend and she's now on it too. Both are very supportive. No one else needs to know atm.
  5. I'm eating normal healthy family meals, but much smaller quantities. No desire to snack or pick in between meals. I'm eating about 1400 calories daily prioritising protein and fibre.

Hope that helps. Read as much as you can and good luck.

omega4ever · 10/07/2024 23:23

I forgot the last point....

Yes I will be keeping the weight off!!!
I'm starting to get rid of Fat clothes, I'm exercising and changing lifelong habits. I'm not rushing the weight loss and doing it as healthily as I can to keep it off forever.

RagzRebooted · 10/07/2024 23:48

Checking in after missing the end of the past thread as I got distracted by politics!

End of week 16 today and I've lost 16.5kg/36lbs.
3rd dose of 7.5mg this week. I'm feeling great suppression on this, but the nausea has come back and the fatigue which I thought was going hasn't gone as much as I'd like. However, 7.5 seems to be lasting the week better than the other doses. I can eat bigger meals on days 6 and 7, but am not really getting food noise and still not able to eat as much as I did before.
I'm hoping I can stay on 7.5 for a while, as I'd like the nausea and fatigue to settle. But I thought this about the previous doses and then I needed to go up, so we shall see!

Exciting scale victory last week as I tipped under BMI 30 and am officially not obese. I did jump back over the weekend (birthday takeaway for DH) but back under again today, hopefully for good!

dogdaydisaster · 11/07/2024 13:11

The kits arrived and in the fridge til Sunday/monday. Next question from me- what do we do re disposing of the sharps box? Never had to manage needles before

KeepingUndercover · 11/07/2024 13:23

It varies depending on your area @dogdaydisaster, best thing to do is check your council website as it should have info about collecting clinical waste. It'll take forever to fill the sharps bin so I've been ignoring the issues!

Alicewondersalot · 11/07/2024 14:15

Welcome to all the newbies and well done to all the losses!

Another loss for me finishing week 13. I am now only obese and not severely obese 🙌

SW 20st 10.2lbs
CW 18st 11.2lbs
27lbs lost
39.9 BMI

Also I’ve worked out on my scales that I have lost 32lbs of fat. Muscle mass, water, protein and bone density have all gone up. Not sure how accurate that is but I’ll take it!

7th jab of 5mg tomorrow, which is working for me at the moment.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 11/07/2024 16:00

Did my first injection last night, has anyone else felt absolutely exhausted after their first one? Struggling with really bad fatigue and a banging headache today.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 11/07/2024 16:00

I had the headache the first day and it was because I didn't drink enough water. Lots of people find they really have to up their water intake to stay hydrated enough on Mounjaro. I'd say at the start, I was drinking about 3L of squash a day and another litre in other drinks (whereas before I'd just have the litre of others).

KeepingUndercover · 11/07/2024 17:21

I have felt exhausted at various points, don't think it hit as early as that but definitely been an issue. It has always passed thankfully.

I was at the GP today having one of those over 40 health checks. It was nice when they did the whole "so how is your diet" bit that I could say I'd lost 21kg this year. The nurse doing it was quite impressed! I didn't talk about medication because I felt a bit awkward about it all.

Ghilliedu · 11/07/2024 18:05

I’m always exhausted after an injection, usually within a few hours and I always get a great sleep the night after a jab!

I took 3.33mg this week and 2 days on I feel fine. I’m so glad as last time I tried this dose I was ill for days. The down side is that I also don’t have much suppression and I can feel old habits creeping in. Not holding out much hope for this weeks weigh in!

thinkfast · 11/07/2024 18:05

Can I join please. Expecting my first pen to be delivered tomorrow morning. Can I ask what time and day do you do your injection? I've heard Friday evenings are generally a good time?

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 11/07/2024 18:40

@thinkfast I take mine just before bedtime so avoid any nausea or anything weird. Basically also helps me not to sit around wondering how I’m feeling. Maybe best when you don’t have much on for the first time.

PinkPianist · 11/07/2024 19:03

Hello!
I am now 6 weeks in (ish) and I have just taken my 2nd .5mg dose of Wegovy.
Had no extra side effects moving up from .25
I’m just kinda not really fussed about eating which is a happy revelation and makes it worth the cost for me.
SW 17st 10lbs 6th June - First dose
CW 16st 10lbs 11th July
GW 12.7lbs
Im logging my meals and watching my calories. Im also swimming 3-4 times a week. I’m a wheelchair user so energy expenditure is minimal.
I don’t feel any different in my clothes yet but I reckon another stone and I’ll start to see the benefits.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 11/07/2024 19:11

Well done @PinkPianist . A great loss with a stone off already. This stuff certainly works.

KeepingUndercover · 11/07/2024 19:47

Well done @PinkPianist. Your comment reminded me that I saw my hairdresser today and finally had someone saying "oh my god you've lost weight". I've only had one other person comment, so it was gratifying. Although she did then apologise as she says she doesn't normally comment on these things. So I think it is true that a lot of people are just more conscious about not drawing attention to weight loss these days.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/07/2024 21:20

@KeepingUndercover every time I've seen my hairdresser for the past two years she's asked me if I've lost weight. Now I've actually lost 4st, no comment 😂

NewoIkkin · 12/07/2024 07:51

Just checking in - I had my second week weigh-in today and have lost another 4.4lbs, so 8.4lbs in two weeks (plus 5lbs the week before starting MJ).

I’ve been trying to do the Fast 800 diet but to be honest I’m tired, hungry, and grumpy all the time, and I’m losing less than a lot of people! I think I’ll up my calories to 1200 which seems much more manageable.

oreo2024 · 12/07/2024 08:29

Happy Friday ladies. One very happy for me. 8 weeks on MJ and I am finally in two digits, and that even included a short holiday. I had not seen two digits for 4 years!
SW 108.3kg
CW 99.1kg
Well done to everyone staying on this journey, our bodies will thank us.
