@VelociraptorsVelociRapping this is a very valid point! My TDEE as a wheelchair user, I've just worked out is 2561 calories a day. I'm averaging just under 2lb a week weight loss, but that means I'm eating 1500 calories a day ish, which I'm definitely not 😂 yesterday I had a pot noodle (451 calories) and an apple (50 calories), prior to going up I was managing 1000 calories a day. If ive got a deficit of around 2000 calories a day I'd expect to lose 4lb a week LOL

ClonedSquare · 08/07/2024 11:55

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping I'm the same. Just existing in my body burns way more calories than I ever thought, which makes sense now I think about it why I wasn't really gaining weight recently despite my poor diet. So decreasing my calories to 1200 actually puts me in a crazy deficit.

Just took a 7.5mg dose from my 5mg pen. Intrigued to see when it kicks in, as usually I take my doses before bed and just feel it when I wake up.

unfortunately the calories in calories out idea is way more complicated than we would like to think. your body is very effective at adjusting its needs based on what's available. This is why exercise is limited in its effects on weight loss (although great for so much else and overall health) . I went down a real rabbit whole of studies and podcasts on this a while back when I was looking into fasting. so while a calorie deficit is important, large calorie deficits do not generally led to greater linear weightloss. some interesting articles out there on homeostasis weightloss regulation.

ultimately we can't rely on our bodies to do anything predictable when it comes to weight loss which is one of the reasons it is so damm hard

Really impressed with the overall weight loss, 8.5lbs in 3 weeks so far with one last dose of 2.5 due tomorrow.

I was dieting prior to starting for 5 weeks but;
SW - 110.2kg
CW - 102kg

This takes me very slightly over 16stone so mini goals are to get in the 15s and then to get below 100kg.

I still feel hungry sometimes but it’s so much easier to not give in and I also definitely feel fuller much quicker.

focusing on 3 small meals and high protein and nutrients. I take lots of vitamins a day now just to try and keep up incase I’m missing anything from the foods I’m eating.

Ghilliedu · 08/07/2024 22:33

Kept wondering why there was no new posts on the old thread and only just noticed the new one!

completely relate to what a pp said about having lost weight but still looking huge. I’m 25lbs down and still in the same clothes although they do feel looser. I feel like I look slimmer, I really notice it on my face and my belly and waist BUT I was at an event with one of my DDs activities a few weeks ago and I was in the background of a photo posted on the club’s social media and I got a shock. I looked massive!

not a single person has noticed or commented either, apart from DH because he knows what I’m doing. I still have about 45lbs to go so maybe that’s why but at least I do feel better in myself so I’ll take that for now

ClonedSquare · 09/07/2024 09:27

Took the 7.5mg dose yesterday and the suppression is back, praise the lord 🙏 Maybe a little stronger than I'd like, but I'll take that over none at all!

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 09/07/2024 14:22

Glad I found the second thread, my first order is ready to be collected from the post office after work tonight. I'm terrified!

NewoIkkin · 09/07/2024 19:19

Had my first little victory - I’m no longer “morbidly obese”! Just “severely obese” 🙄🙄🙄

It’s a start.

WeAllHaveWings · 09/07/2024 19:32

Well done! @NewoIkkin

I have 2lbs to go until I have lost my first stone and 9lbs to go before I leave "morbidly obese" behind.

All these little "wins" add up and hopefully motivate to look forward to the next one!

NewoIkkin · 09/07/2024 20:14

Thanks @WeAllHaveWings! I’ve actually made a long list of mini milestones (every 5lb, every half a stone, every 5% of body weight lost, etc). I’m hoping it will keep me motivated!

WeAllHaveWings · 09/07/2024 20:20

@NewoIkkin my milestones are all in an excel spreadsheet with charts to show progress, milestones and projected losses through to Christmas 😂

NewoIkkin · 09/07/2024 20:47

@WeAllHaveWings I love that!

Eminybob · 09/07/2024 20:56

I'm 11 weeks in now and this is the longest I think I have ever stuck to a diet. I'm not saying it's easy but it is certainly a lot easier than will power alone. Reality hit me today though that this really is for the long haul.

I've lost 15kg so far, which is 15% of my starting weight. I should feel great about that, and I do, but still have a BMI in the obese category and am less than halfway to reaching a normal BMI.

Also, I'm feeling a bit of a stall these last few weeks. 7.5mg doesn't seem as effective as 2.5 ir 5 for me. Got the 10mg in the fridge ready to go next week. Hopefully that'll kick Starr some bigger losses again.

dogdaydisaster · 09/07/2024 21:07

Hi all I’ve just jumped on and ordered today. Feeling nervous and excited. At 5’7’’ and 119kg I am definitely in the 4-5 stone gang.

Alicewondersalot · 09/07/2024 22:41

@dogdaydisaster Welcome!

I’ve received an interesting email from Medexpress asking me to tell them why I moved to another supplier. Anyone else?

I just put that I found it cheaper elsewhere and although their delivery was good and pens arrived cold they don’t have a proper plan for maintenance either. They kept saying to keep an eye on our inboxes, inferring they would send discounts directly to us but I never received any 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ll probably be on this medication for at least a year, so I am going to chase the best deals even though I would prefer to stay with one supplier for consistency and oversight.

oreo2024 · 09/07/2024 23:02

Many thanks for the new thread. Just back from holiday so will check in on Friday for 2 weeks. Afraid to stand on the scale at the moment! Didn't go wild, but ate about daily maintenance limit plus some drinks.

oreo2024 · 09/07/2024 23:04

Oh and just ordered my 3rd month's MJ supply (7.5mg) at e-surgery for £150, they offer 10% off with their July code from the original price of £169. No questions asked, no photo required.

Alicewondersalot · 09/07/2024 23:14

@oreo2024 I went with e-surgery for my last pen too!

I think they have a 15% discount with return15 👍🏼 they also sent me another 15% off by email and in the box with the pen.

Ooh can I jump in and say hello.

I started in May with a SW of 16st 13 so getting to under 12st would be fabulous.

I'm 17lbs down as of today. So 10 weeks so far.

Am here for the long haul so have chopped and changed suppliers and hoping the 15% referral codes will continue - I've got a combo pack from Zava so good for the next few weeks!

I was disappointed to start with too seeing some of the results but think as this absolutely has to be the last time I do this as I'm approaching 50 I don't mind it taking a bit longer.

I'm sticking with 5mg while the scales are going the right way and plan to get back to running when I'm a bit lighter. I still do spin classes and have just started back at body pump. I had a hip replacement last year and my weight piled on as I used to exercise loads and so keto so I know what I am aiming for!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 10/07/2024 08:17

Good morning long haul fliers. I am titrating up from 2.5 to 5. Did 40 clicks last week (3.33) and the suppression has worn off a bit more quickly than I would like. However, I’m not so hungry that I can’t make reasonable choices and do get full quite quickly.
I’ll move up to 45 clicks tomorrow (3.75) and try injecting in my stomach rather than my thigh.

KeepingUndercover · 10/07/2024 08:22

Sympathies to those who are struggling, it is hard. Hope you all get breakthroughs soon.

JessicaPeach · 10/07/2024 11:14

I'm midway through my second week on 2.5, I'm finding it really easy in the sense that I'm not hungry and not at all tempted to graze, but I just don't fancy eating anything at all. I've just been in hospital for 2 days with one of my little ones, which has meant I ate nothing (a few bites of a sandwich and a few sweets) for that time. I can never eat much in hospital anyway but this time the will was just completely gone. I feel fine doing this in that I'm not getting headaches etc but I'm worried about my hair falling out etc etc. I think previously, having a bit of a lack of will power and being fat meant that I probably do congratulate myself a bit if I miss a meal or something and I think that subconsciously I'm seeing mounjaro as a bit of a challenge to eat nothing at all. And I could do it, so that's something I'm going to have to keep an eye on.

In the upside, I've lost 10.6lbs in the 11 days I've been on mounjaro which far surpasses my expectations! Just feels weird that in a short time I have the opposite issue to what brought me to it, I now need to work on eating more!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 10/07/2024 12:25

@ChazsBrilliantAttitude love 💕 the Long Haul Fliers line . Sums it up so well. Unfortunately up until now have been on the return trips too. Been a yo yo dieter for 30+ years. Let’s hope MJ can help put the brakes on….
Ive been on 3.5mg for few weeks but moving to 4mg as been getting hungrier. Maybe then go full throttle for 5mg.

dogdaydisaster · 10/07/2024 18:06

So my first kit arrives tomorrow. I have a concert at Hyde park on Friday night and another outdoor event on Sunday. I had wanted to maybe take the dose in time for the weekend, but worried about side effects. Is it silly to take it tomorrow (Thursday)?
