Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

Hey July-ers! Finally.. first batch comes tomorrow! I’m sat here craving toast like I always do at this time, despite having dinner, even considering ordering snacks on deliveroo! Cannot wait for this food noise to disappear, just one more day (hopefully!).

It’ll be after work before I can inject, am I right in thinking I should be careful what I eat tomorrow as it will immediately impact my digestion/anything already in my stomach?

JessicaPeach · 02/07/2024 21:50

I thought that but in the end I just went for it, didn't seem to make any difference. I've been able to have fizzy drinks too which I believe some people can't manage

EricCatman · 02/07/2024 21:57

I can’t say I’ve had any side effects, apart from not being hungry. I’ve had loads of fizzy drinks.

Welcome to the new people :)

After feeling nauseous all day and barely eating a thing, I've just got home from work and had to run to the loo! I do feel better after, but hoping it's a one off. Never really considered that week 2 symptoms would be worse than week one, but I suppose I've probably still got some left over in my system from last week so now I've got more. Think I'll be sticking on 2.5 for a while at this rate!

SweetPeas13 · 03/07/2024 06:40

Hello, I took my first dose on Saturday 2.5. I've felt a little nausea and no appetite but ok otherwise. I've weighed myself this morning and only lost 1lb. I'm feeling quite disheartened. Is this normal?

Lumirubin · 03/07/2024 08:15

@SweetPeas13 what have you been eating? I think it needs to be a combination of healthy eating/calorie reduction alongside the jab

OP posts:
SweetPeas13 · 03/07/2024 08:39

I've not been eating much at all. Just not felt like it. I've been drinking 2-3L a day and walking around 3 miles a day. Don't really know what more I could do?

yajustneverknow · 03/07/2024 08:41

Has anyone done slimming world alongside mounjaro? Do people think this would work as it's a low fat diet?

Snozzlemaid · 03/07/2024 08:51

@SweetPeas13 2.5mg is just a starting dose. You're not expected to lose much until you move to higher doses.
Some people do respond to this starting dose, but plenty don't so please don't be discouraged.
I know it's hard when you learn of others having big losses immediately but we are all different, so stick with it and trust the process of moving up through the doses and I'm sure you'll get there.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn · 03/07/2024 09:35

I'm waiting on approval from Zava having just ordered 🤞

I'm 5"8, 17.5st

I started last week with tracking calories on nutracheck and sticking to 1500 cals.

I've also started at the same time, working out for 30 mins a day on my cross trainer so hoping to continue with good habits.

In the last week without Mounjaro, I've lost 1.8lbs so hoping this gives me a good extra boost!!

yajustneverknow · 03/07/2024 09:51

I've just ordered, waiting approval. Why am I so scared.
I'd be grateful if anyone could use my discount code, I've just used one from here - REFCHXKS

BamberGirl · 03/07/2024 09:58

Just taken my first dose!!! Was quite nervous but it didn’t hurt at all…now to wait to see what happens!

am tracking food and weight with MFP.

SweetPeas13 · 03/07/2024 10:07

@Snozzlemaid thank you. I'm really trying so feel so disheartened. Hoping it starts to work. Any tips help?

Time4changeagain · 03/07/2024 10:39

@SweetPeas13
Please don’t be disheartened… 1lb is still a lot in less than a week! Because it doesn’t sound like much I think we forget how much it really is… Im experiencing a stall at the moment & “only” lost 1lb in the last two weeks. A couple of pics made me realise how much it actually is though.
Keep going you are doing great 😀

I think it’s just a matter of sticking with it. Any big weightloss in the first week is mainly water. Some people lose early, some don’t, to get any significant weight loss most people will need to be on the jabs for a few months so I would try to focus on eating a healthy diet - for me that meant a focus on keeping protein levels up, and cutting out most processed stuff. Reckon if you just keep on, it will all fall into place

TheRoseShaker · 03/07/2024 11:20

I hadn't lost anything by yesterday, but I only injected on Friday for the first time. However, weighed myself this morning and 1kg has come off overnight, so keep on keeping on! I'm counting calories on MFP, 1200 per day. Have cut out crap, and trying to avoid anything too carby, bread etc

User364837 · 03/07/2024 12:06

I found this dosage info on the Asda website useful

just a reminder that it would be unusual to stay on 2.5mg as it is not a therapeutic/maintenance dose. 5mg might be for some people.

Not sure if I count as a June or July starter so I'm dipping into both threads! I injected on Friday morning.

Was surprised by excellent appetite suppression and feeling fuller for longer straightaway, it lasted Fri - Tues, but today my appetite is back to normal (ravenous!). The difference is really amazing. Looking forward to the next jab now.

Interesting! I injected in Saturday and was surprised to be still getting good suppression today, I guess I will need to see what tomorrow brings!

cappycap · 03/07/2024 13:13

Just checking in, I did my first injection Friday late afternoon, just weighed today and I am 5lb down.

SW: 13 6.8lbs
CW: 13 1.8lbs

So off to a good start.

Been having between 1200 and 1550 calories a day since Saturday. Weighed in early as due on and if I'd seen a gain I would've been disheartened.

NewLifter · 03/07/2024 14:40

Great start Cappy, thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to my first weigh in on Saturday ❤️

yajustneverknow · 03/07/2024 15:25

My order has just been approved, I'm excited but scared at the same time.
Is anyone happy to share what they eat in a day while on mounjaro?

yajustneverknow · 03/07/2024 15:49

Another question, what is the delivery packaging like from zava? Is it discrete.
For this want to hide this in the fridge, I've bought a roll of ready made pastry and plan to hide it in there.

Lumirubin · 03/07/2024 15:50

@yajustneverknow this made me laugh out loud. What a great hiding place. I have no idea about the zava packaging though sorry because I'm voy
