Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

My pen from zava has arrived! 🙌
going to inject this evening.
i quickly put it in the fridge before rushing out, can see sharps box but no box of spare needles which I was expecting: wondering if they’ve been forgotten? Does anyone know if the pen has one needle in it to start with? Then perhaps I can order some spares before next week.

if anyone would like a zava code for 15% mine is REF3DB2D.was the cheapest I could find but would be interested if anyone has found a better price (£139 before code)

Check your packaging carefully as Zava send out a very small plastic bag with needles in it which you could easily miss. I had 7 needles in mine. The pen does not have any attached.

@FarriersGirl thank you so much! Found them in the bin with the packaging

Lumirubin · 02/07/2024 14:49

I did my 2nd injection yesterday afternoon. Felt fine last night, but today I feel rough. It might be because I'm at work and haven't had a chance to eat anything until now, who knows. Currently trying to eat the pasta I've brought as my main meal and I can't stomach it. 2 people watching me eat have asked if I'm pregnant. Bloody great! Not.
I'm working until 10pm so hoping the nausea sods off! Also had sulphur burps for the first time today too. Still, as long as it's working I'll manage!

Sorry you're not feeling great @lumirubin... Remember to keep drinking water - I know I (will) struggle with it, especially when not eating. Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.
My first pen has just arrived but I'm reluctant to inject as I have a busy day at work tomorrow. Maybe I'll do it before bed tonight or wait until after work tomorrow. Argh...

Ugh, I just weighed myself (1st injection Friday), haven't lost anything yet. I've been religiously calorie counting too and haven't gone over 1200 a day. Have been on my period though. Will try not to weigh myself until Friday again

Same here! First injection was Friday, zero weight loss so far despite only having 1000-1,200 calories/ day and zero snacks or sugar since Friday. Hoping I get a sudden whoosh of weight loss soon...

Fingers crossed for us!

I think I'm going to take my next dose tomorrow morning, two days early. I'm still feeling quite hungry, and I've got a couple of meals out with work this week, so hoping that will help me be sensible!

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 02/07/2024 17:06

I've been approved so my pen will be delivered in the next five days.

Is anyone taking any supplements? Vitamins, electrolytes, pro-biotics or anything? I'm wondering if there is anything that might help with any side effects.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 02/07/2024 17:26

I can't wait to start. I have a week abroad to go to then in starting.

Any tips for the first week for the side effects?

moun82 · 02/07/2024 18:05

Just wanting to check in for the first time as I had my first weigh in/2nd shot today. I'm a serial yo-yo dieter but over lock down put on so much weight that I couldn't shift. I enjoy life but feel like I'm not really living if that makes sense. I started bang on 20st so some things were out of limits that I wanted to do with the kids (rides, certain activities etc) plus I notice how much people treat me differently now I'm so big. Almost like I'm not worth as much. Anyway one week later and I've lost 10lb! I know it's mostly water weight but it was so good seeing 19st 4lb and knowing I'm closer to the next stone mark. I'm away for a few nights now and usually this is where I would fail, I'd fall into the "may as well enjoy myself" mindset gain 4lb then think I've f*cked it and give up. The fact I'm not even thinking about food (which is unbelievable for me) hopefully means I'll still get a good loss next week. I'd love to get 5lb to get into the next stone bracket.

This is great to hear! Well done. How has it been for you so far in terms of side effects and changes?

VelvetBow · 02/07/2024 18:28

Does anyone have an idea of how long Voy take to deliver? I was approved around 2pm today so I'm hoping maybe tomorrow?

SylviaStrong · 02/07/2024 18:35

I got a link from Voy to see when it was dispatched etc was very efficient and I could make sure I was home for delivery.

https://joinvoy.com/r/U-wjjjXONaOY

here is a code for £85 off your 1st order

User364837 · 02/07/2024 18:36

just done my first jab, had a moment of wtf am I doing! But then just went with it.
felt like a lot of medication at once having previously done a daily saxenda jab for a short while!
Will see what the night and tomorrow brings…. First day of period too 😬 and just realised that means probably moving up to subsequent doses I’ll have my period too 🤦‍♀️

moun82 · 02/07/2024 18:48

@WeepingInASunlitRoom I've been really lucky so far, I feel really tired and have had mild upset stomachs but that's it. To be honest I'm so willing this to work even if I end up crawling out the door each day I'm willing to keep going.
My appetite is tiny compared to usual and I'm not obsessing and thinking about food constantly. I seen someone else on another thread saying "I wonder if this is how normal people feel about food" and that really made sense to me. The last week I've eaten to live not the other way around.
My average diet at the moment is
2eggs and 1 slice whole meal toast for brunch.
Chicken and rice for dinner (had salmon and rice one night and a individual pizza another night)
I've been having a couple of spirits and diet mixer at night.
I don't feel I'm eating as much as I maybe should but also don't want more. I've lots of fruit and protein yoghurts in but have only picked at the once or twice.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 02/07/2024 19:03

Thank you @moun82 - that sounds really promising. The list of potential side effects is very daunting, but so are the side effects of obesity so I also think (hope!) it will be worth it.

EricCatman · 02/07/2024 19:06

7pm, and I’ve consumed a grand total
of 43 calories today.

I am going to force myself to eat dinner. The not being hungry is odd.

yajustneverknow · 02/07/2024 19:07

If I want Monday delivery when would be best to order? Do ZAVA require photos to be uploaded? What other info do they ask for? Is it only the first one that we can use the discount codes for?

EricCatman · 02/07/2024 19:14

yajustneverknow, I found Zava really very quick. 2 days only. There are loads of codes on here. Mind is REFNJPMU. I think there are also Voy codes upthread.

Zava ask for a pic of your feet on the scales with a piece of paper showing date and time in the pic. They also ask for a full length body photo.

yajustneverknow · 02/07/2024 20:01

@EricCatman so for Monday delivery I probably better off ordering Friday, possibly late Thursday afternoon?

EricCatman · 02/07/2024 20:08

You could, but why not order asap and keep in the fridge? Unless you’re not in to accept it, in which case I’d order on Thursday to be sure. But make sure you’re approved beforehand.

yajustneverknow · 02/07/2024 20:15

@EricCatman I don't want to tell anyone yet what I'm doing so want to guarantee I'll be in to take delivery which isn't until Monday. Do they ask for you to be only partially dressed for the photos?

User364837 · 02/07/2024 20:22

@yajustneverknow i had a slightly longer wait with zava, uploaded pics and id Tuesday last week, only received it today (approved Saturday) after I chased it up,
approvals after 4pm Friday they say will be dispatched Monday to arrive Tuesday.

not sure if my delay might have been to do with my GP not having my up to date address as recently moved

User364837 · 02/07/2024 20:23

They request not baggy clothing, clingy enough to see your physique. I don’t really have anything clingy! So just put my swimming costume on and didn’t show my face

yajustneverknow · 02/07/2024 20:37

Do they contact the gp? I might order tomorrow then to allow all checks etc.

JessicaPeach · 02/07/2024 20:40

My pic is absolutely horrendous, didn't even get my husband to take another as thought it was suitably grotesque!

Can I join please? I've been on the June thread but I had my first jab on Friday so probably a better fit here. I've lost 4.4lbs so far. Starting weight 239lbs and hoping to get down to 163. 216lbs is my previous 'pre pregnancy weight', 202 and 180 are previous weights were I've thought 'shit you need to go on a diet' so those will be milestones for me on the way down.

I have a bad diastasis recti which I'm hoping to get fixed with surgery but I know the first thing they'll say is that I have to lose weight first. Will see what it looks like as I lose weight.

So far only side effects have been dry mouth, headache and tiredness but I wonder if a bit of the headache etc is due to caffeine and sugar suddenly being cut off. I absolutely can't believe how disinterested I am in food, I've been to the supermarket about 10 times testing myself 🤣
