Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

im on holiday at the mo too…took my 4th 2.5 mg last Weds, hoping to use the bonus dose this Weds which is day we fly home. Hoping it works but if not I’ll have to order insulin needles to arrive on Thursday and inject a day late.

Ive not weighed or calorie counted whilst away, I have been eating more but defo not excessive. My family don’t know I’m on this so I have eaten main meal every evening (though often not all of it), fruit and yoghurt in day but have had a couple of croissant breakfasts and gelato. It’s v interesting as I’m guessing this is more what my post MJ diet will need to look like.

weigh in on return will also be interesting, defo haven’t put on weight from how I feel in clothes.

Planning to reorder with zava on Tues so I’m home for delivery…how are people finding zava reorders time wise?

when not on holiday I’m trying to use the eatwell plate principles, and theee meals a day plus fruit as snack as want to make this my long term system.
Ive not added protein supplements or anything, i already exercise and weight train a bit so not really worried about losing muscle.

I've recently started too and what's bugging me is I'm not eating all my daily calorie allowance (1200), yet I'm told not eating my allowance will make me gain. Isn't Mounjaro supposed to suppress your appetite, so you're potentially not going to eat your daily allowance and undereat? What are you supposed to do?

Just taken my first 5mg dose tonight! I was already pretty much not wanting to eat anything so I’m interested to see how this goes. Today I’ve had some chippy chips and some mushy peas. Kind of love that I can just eat whatever I can stand to eat, and whatever it is I know it won’t put me out of a deficit because I definitely am not eating anything else!

People who use the extra dose without a syringe, by forcing the pen, what needle do you use for the fifth dose? My pen only came with four needles

@Idontjetwashthefucker who has said that not eating 1200 calories a day will mean you gain weight?

I really don't want to have to count calories, so I'm just eating as healthily as possible and when I feel hungry. If I'm not feeling hungry at all, I'm trying to remember to eat a small meal at regular meal times.

I think people are separately buying extra needles, not sure from where.

Hi, I joined a calorie counting website and was given 1200 as my daily allowance, I have also said I'm on Mounjaro. I've had my first gain, was asked to show a week's diary with calories used and everyone has said I'm undereating. I just don't know what to do for the best

I honestly wouldn't worry about a gain for one week, it's too short a time frame, you need to see how you go over a month really. If you're eating a calorie deficit then you will lose weight.

How are you finding the Mounjaro affects you?

I have good suppression so haven't wanted to eat at times but have forced myself so I'm not eating too few calories, but that seems counterproductive. No other effects, bad or good

You really can't take one week in isolation, some women gain just before their period for example. Hot weather can cause water retention too.

My pen came with 6 needles! I suppose it's allowing for faults or human error, surprised that some companies give out exactly the right amount.
I use the nivea q10 body cream on my flabby areas, it does seem to improve my skin texture I don't think there is a magic cure though unfortunately 😌

i found it a little slower this time rohnd
ordered on 17/07 and it arrived on 23/07. Nothing between approval on 18/07 and email from Royal Mail that it was arriving on 23/07. It was cold though.

Which supplier sent the six pens, @Aworldofmyown?

I’ve had spare needles from Zava, definitely more than 4. 7 maybe? Didn’t count though but know there are more than 4.

I've got extra needles, Asda sent me them on request but I'm not using the bonus dose this time as I've ordered a second 2.5mg pen so I don't want to extract a higher amount - anyway I'm sure I'm someone who would break the pen and mess it up if I tried!

I have my fourth injection today. Appetite suppression is still strong and in three weeks I've lost 9lbs at a very steady rate. My energy levels are up and down but I have managed to get to the gym.

This is actually working! I thought nothing ever would!

On the main MJ thread the first post of the thread has really useful information including extra needles I think. I just got some from Amazon but I can’t remember which ones. It was really easy to do even though I was very nervous.

Achieved my first mini goal today, which was to lose 1 stone! Phew. Plus I feel great. Much more energy. Much less brain fog. My puffy ankles are no

So in 2 weeks and 2 days I've lost 15 lb. I'm thrilled.

I got 6 needles with Zava. As I could not get the bonus dose out I ordered some 1ml insulin syringes from express chemist.

The insulin syringes came yesterday and I extracted 0.8ml in bonus dose (about 3.3 mg from a 2.5 mg pen).

I have not taken any doses since 10th July and have not felt much suppression (it could be because the pen was 37 days old- but it may come today or tomorrow).

Yesterday, post holiday, I had gone up half a pound to 12st 7.5. Today I am down to 12 stone 5.25. Maybe the whoosh is coming!

I’m amazed at all these insulin syringes that people are buying. My best friend is a type 1 diabetic and she’s had insulin pens for 20 years. She tells me she remembers her uncle, also type 1, having to use syringes in the 1980s but that was long gone when she was diagnosed.

Just ordered! Guess it’ll take a few days to arrive, hopeful for some early losses!

@HotCrossBunplease we don't use insulin pens in hospitals to make up insulin infusions, we use insulin needles, that's why they exist. They are different to normal because of the type of plastic, insulin molecules stick to plastic. These pens don't need insulin needles/syringes, just a small gauge needle, although even that is a preference, you could easily inject with a much larger needle. But insulin needles/syringes is what people are ordering because they are the same size as the pen needles. Hope that makes some sense!

Week 2 of 5mg for me to day. I'm down 1st 8lbs in total in 5 weeks which I'm over the moon about. I'm only 8lbs heavier than I was when I got pregnant now so that will be my next mini goal I think. I had low suppression yesterday and had quite a few treats at work, although it was needed for an energy boost because WOW the fatigue on this dose! Took my second injection this morning and had to nap this afternoon, although the heat might not have helped. I feel exactly like I did when I was early pregnant, nausea, fatigue and mood wise. If we didnt have double infertility id actually be convinced enough to test it's that similar! One bonus this evening is I've got my usual post injection freezing cold feeling and DH is moaning how hot he is. I've got a hoody on I'm so cold! So that's a bonus for a nice cool sleep tonight.
