Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

Well, today is my official weigh-in after I did my first jab last Saturday. Was very surprised to see an overnight whoosh of 2.2lb overnight, so I am officially 5.2lb / 2.4kg down in my first week - so chuffed, even though I do know it's mostly water weight!

SW - 12st 7.0lb
CW - 12st 1.8lb
GW - 8st (this would be BMI 23)

Not sure how achievable that goal is with loose skin, so may adjust further down the road.

Lumirubin · 06/07/2024 08:42

@ImagineImagine it's optional about your GP with voy. https://joinvoy.com/r/U-z3WNcM9wp5 that's my code if you want to use them :)

Well done @MounjaroMunchie ! That's amazing!

MounjaroMunchie I too had an overnight ’whoosh’ of 2lbs. So I am 12lbs down since my first jab less than 2 weeks ago. Crazy.

scoobysnaxx · 06/07/2024 10:38

Officially checking in!

Jabbed this morning (well partner did for me, I just can't).

SW - 15st
BMI - 40.9
GW - 8st 6lb (top healthy range)

Hoping to at least get to 10 stone but preferable go the whole way!

Will be watching for side effects today 🙏🏽

MounjaroMunchie · 06/07/2024 10:58

Good luck @scoobysnaxx !

Italiangreyhound · 06/07/2024 10:58

Hi again 👋🏻

I'm half way through my second jab and my appetite sadly came back 😢

My body is clearly used to the medication already and I wish I didn't need to wait over two weeks to go up.

That said, I have lost a few lbs. Just not at all dramatic 🙈

cappycap · 06/07/2024 08:39

I think I've read Voy give you the option to share with a GP or not.

I've not used voy so can't say 100% but i did fill in the form just to have a look and I'm sure it was an option to choose.

Yes, that’s right. I have opted not to share with my GP.

SilenceInside · 06/07/2024 12:42

@TurningPointe "a few lbs" in such a short time is a great weight loss though. If you're half way through your second jab, then you're less than 2 weeks in?

thisbetheverse · 06/07/2024 13:10

It took me 5 days due to a needle phobia but finally did it last night (ended up being painless for anyone else who struggles!) Ended up opting for the stomach… so far no noticeable symptoms. Did anyone else’s bleed quite a bit? Apparently it can happen more if you accidentally do it into a stretch mark (which I did oops!).

scoobysnaxx · 06/07/2024 13:17

Thank you @MounjaroMunchie! 💕

I just did my 3rd injection in my stomach. Every one has been completely painless (although I do numb the area with something from the freezer because I am a wimp). It is getting easier and I can do it quickly now (first one took an hour staring at the needle to pluck up courage!), but hands still shake and feel wobbly at the thought of doing it.

Mine bled for the first time today, but not too much. Guess it is just luck where you hit! How long are your needles? Mines are 6mm, but some users seems to get 8mm or 4mm sent with theirs.

Emeraldpies · 06/07/2024 14:11

I had my first dose last night. It took ages! I read and reread the instructions, watched two videos and kept checking and rechecking as I was scared I was going to do it wrong! Not noticed any effects either negative or positive yet.

thisbetheverse · 06/07/2024 15:06

@Emeraldpies i was the same, watched various videos too even though they were all saying the same thing 😂 I believe mine are 4mm! Must have been the stretch mark!

@WeAllHaveWings ooo the freezer tip is a good idea!!

JessicaPeach · 06/07/2024 15:19

6.2lbs in the first week for me in the end, did my second jab last night and appetite suppression is back today.

I'm probably only eating about 600 or so calories a day but I've also stuck with my 2 can of coke a day habit so that's bumping it up a bit.

One of the things I hate about dieting (and this is no different) is that I'm always so impatient to lose a good chunk of weight. Hate this first stone 🤣

I didn't enjoy the timeline lower down of 24 weeks until Xmas, that could be 48lbs less which isn't too shabby at all! Will be great to weigh less than Santa this year 🤣

JessicaPeach · 06/07/2024 15:20

*did enjoy!

spp92 · 06/07/2024 16:49

Hope it’s okay if I join a little late! I’ve just ordered after um-ing and ah-ing for so long. I’m nervous! I’ve always been overweight, but I’m currently the heaviest I’ve been and really unhappy about it. I’m hoping this works to help quieten the food noise for me, sometimes I find myself eating just for the sake of it. :(

I’m going to weigh myself in the morning but last I checked I was around 105kg and I’m 5’7.

Welcome. I could've written your post word for word myself!

I'm the heaviest I've ever been after giving birth.

I ummed and ahhed for ages. Took the plunge and took my first jab this morning.

Touch wood no side effects as of yet.

Go for it!

Zarawithtiara · 06/07/2024 17:14

@girljulia - thank you for this, I didn't see this when I was ordering from Voy. I was in a rush and clicked through without paying attention. I remember there was a drop down to chose my GP surgery based on my postcode so I guess I must have done it.. Wish I didn't consent though... My GP's not very helpful. I wonder if it's too late to ask Voy to change it?

On a positive, it's day three since my first injection and so far so good. Massive appetite suppression and have to force myself to eat something. But I had an argument with husband last night (he doesn't know about MJ) and a separate one with daughter yesterday. This is unusual for me so it's probably lack of food, despite me not feeling hungry, my mind /hormones are being affected.

I feel 'sharp', brain fog has lifted, clarity...I'm not looking at cooking websites all day and planning food shopping and dinner. Could be why my family's unhappy... 😂

Here is my code if anyone wants to start with Voy:

Here’s my shameless plea for someone to use my code (as I’d like a cheap pen next time!)
thanks

PlinkyPlonkyDonkey · 06/07/2024 18:19

Did my second injection yesterday, appetite suppression nowhere near as strong as after the first dose. I'm definitely noticing that I'm hungry, whereas during the first week I wasn't at all.

Visiting my husband's family today for his grandmother's 93rd birthday. Broke a chair when I sat in it - one of those fabric directors chairs, the material ripped and I fell on my arse. Mortified.

NewLifter · 06/07/2024 18:26

Oh pinky that's awful, stupid chair! It's a chair problem, not a you problem!

Someone mentioned brain fog, mines definitely improved too and my anxiety seems to have vanished. Really hoping that continues - thinking it's probably due to reducing carbs!

I did have my bubble burst last night through as I had awful nausea, it was rotten. However I've woken up with a horrible chesty cold so thinking it could be COVID or whatever - but who knows! I've no tests and no inclination to test anyway.

If it is MJ it mightn't be a bad thing to finally have a negative effect as I'm loving it so much, I'm worried I will become addicted and never be able to stop 😂 I love it so much so far!

Lumirubin · 06/07/2024 18:47

@thisbetheverse I had a bruise from the first one so I'd obviously hit a vessel too. Nothing from the second one though.

In symptom news, im finally feeling better today! No waking up at 4am rushing to the loo. Now I need to decide wether to inject on Monday like I should, or wait until after work on Tuesday. That'll mean injecting at 2300 though. Might see how tomorrow goes and then decide

My second dose seems to have kicked in, I've only managed to eat 700 calories today, normally Saturday night would be takeaway and wine. I don't feel hungry at all and don't fancy any wine, can't believe it!
