I just took my first dose! I’ve read a lot of these threads but nothing saying how long you have to twist the pen for to get to the 1! I kept thinking I’d missed it but I just needed to keep going. Plucking up the courage to out the needle in was something I had to work up to but it was fine.

It’s been sitting in the fridge for 3 days because I’m away on a family holiday over half term and don’t want to have to take a sharps bin with me (or any of them to know)! So Saturday needed to be the day. This way I can take dose 3 before we leave and dose 4 when we get back.

Thank you very much for the threads - really helpful

I was confused too but theres videos on youtube that show you how to do it that helped if anyone is just starting x

Please can I join even though I've not purchased this yet? I'm on day 3 of Saxenda as I purchased a few months ago and had 2 sealed in date pens left. So using those before purchasing the one you are all on.

I didn't weigh myself when I started but 1 week ago and I've lost 1kg so far.

I'm hoping someone has the 50% off code once my pens run out.

So far I am enjoying not having constant cravings and mind chatter. In fact I'm amazed as to how it even manages that. I'm a binge eater than constantly thinks about food!

Anyway, would be lovely if I can join you all please.

Where did you order from? Im looking for a cheaper deal for my 2nd pen as the first one i got 50% off.

Saxenda was from Chemist 4 u but ordered before they went out of stock. I've found the mounjoro (no idea how to spell it) off this thread with a 50% code, but some online are £150 for 1 month. It does seem very expensive. But if I stick to it, it's worth it for the weight loss and health benefits.

Greentrilby · 11/05/2024 15:16

@BusyBlue i know what you mean about photos, but you’ve made a cracking start so don’t be too disheartened. I always hide behind others in photos

Greentrilby · 11/05/2024 15:18

@SunFlowerRose welcome to the May Team. It’s great to have you onboard!

SparkleBrightt · 11/05/2024 15:28

BusyBlue · 11/05/2024 12:03

@Greentrilby Thanks. I am really pleased but at the same time I’m at a family celebration and naturally loads of photos being taken. One of the guests did a family photo for us and I took one look at it and thought I still look hideously fat and twice the size of everyone else. That’s what makes it so hard sometimes 🥲

Edited

Dont be disheartend we are all in the same boat x i have a wedding coming up in 3 weeks time and i feel massive but at least we are on the right path and one day itl be all worth it. We just have to keep looking forward x
like most people here i have tried many diets over the years to no avail and have alot of hopes for this to suceed

But if not wanting to join the FB group tha below pharmacy gets a lot of recommendations. The pharmacist who works there is on the group and gives out advise if needed.

It's still in my fridge. I had a couple of events planned so thought I'd get those out the way.
I'm still a bit undecided but hopefully I will get myself in the right head space and go for it,

evolute · 11/05/2024 16:24

@BusyBlue thats a fab start! Completely understand that photo fear though, just remember you’re on a journey and how quickly the weight changes doesn’t equal how quickly we change how we see ourselves (I’ll try to remind myself this!).

evolute · 11/05/2024 16:27

Welcome to all the May people!
It’s actually so nice to have a group and feel like I’m on this journey with other people - especially given I know a number of us are ‘doing it alone’ by keeping it a secret.
🥹🫶🏼

BusyBlue · 11/05/2024 16:33

@Greentrilby Thanks. I’m always the same, trying to hide at the back but I was caught at the side and it was just awful.

@SparkleBrightt Yes, I’ve done WW, VLCD, SlimFast you name it, so this just has to work. In the back of my mind I think I’m still doubting whether it will but it feels different somehow this time.

@evolute The fear is real. Hate having photos take and even worse is people who just snap away at family gatherings to get ‘candid’ shots which inevitably look even worse! Sadly I am still pretty big and I can’t see a difference yet.

Just ordered with Voy and feeling anxious about the cost! Here's my code for 50% off first order. Hope it helps someone.

I agree, taking the photo was traumatic!

Tarsandcase · 11/05/2024 18:03

I'm feeling really nauseous today and have no appetite at all. How's everyone else doing?

Zebra01 · 11/05/2024 18:18

Hello everyone! 👋

I too have started using Mounjaro, I did my first 2.5 injection at 10 this morning. I had awful nausea, some mild stomach cramps and bloated feeling around 3 hours later, which lasted for around an hour. I feel fine now, side effects have worn off, my appetite has gone completely already! I've had to force a bowl of chicken soup down!

Wishing you all luck on your journeys x

Silvesterthecat · 11/05/2024 18:24

Hi sorry to ask but Id like to make my first order!! If I order through voy and use one of your discount codes (thank you very much!) how much is it to start and what photos do they need? I’m very anti selfie!!

Spoke too soon.

had an anxiety attack, tight chest and woozy head and heart palpitations. Oh gosh I hate it when that happens. 😭

This is what happened to me. Sadly I had to stop taking it as I couldn't handle the anxiety attacks and heart palpitations.

I so wish it had worked for me.

I had to send mine twice as the first time i had a baggy dress on.
The second time i wore leggings and a tshirt and just took in the mirror. Make sure the phone doesnt cover your face and its a full length photo.
The relief and excitement i felt after they approved was an amazing feeling as tho finally i may get my wish of being slimmer.

my code is still available if you want to use it x

I did my first injection on Wednesday night. No real side effects apart from some constipation, which might just be from eating very little. I'm so amazed so far, it's like a switch has just been flipped in my head and I'm not craving bad food nor feeling much hunger at all.

mischka · 11/05/2024 20:30

Yes no one knows I'm doing it either . Let's support one another ❤️

evolute · 10/05/2024 21:10

Thanks for sharing day 3 experience- I’ve heard day 3 tends to be worst?

I too would love to know any drinking advice as out with friends myself tomorrow (my day 3!)

@evolute you were right Day 3 was tge worst so far and I actually felt so much better and less headachey/faint. The hunger suppression has really kicked in and eating felt like a slog.

I managed 2 alcoholic drinks while out but didn't really actually want them and it felt like hard work. I chose a chicken salad while out (very much not like me) and only ate half. Think fear of having diarrhoea is a big factor in helping me stay on the right path! 😂

Hope you managed to enjoy drinks with friends 😊

Creamcheesedreams · 12/05/2024 07:01

Day 3 over here!

Feeling a bit nauseaous but probably cos I had 2 drinks last night.

Could be placebo effect but have found myself not hungry last few days

Sticking to protein shake in the morning w some toast, trying hard to eat little but often though!

Already my tummy is feeling softer too Smile

bert3400 · 12/05/2024 07:08

@evolute regarding socialising, I'm currently away for the weekend....many meals out and lots of drinking. So far I've ordered just a starter of high protein for all my mains. No alcohol in the day ( friends are but I've claimed it makes me sleepy)

In the evening I'm having a very small glass of red and making it last 2 hours or more...A few comments from friends as to why I'm not drinking like I normally do ( I can drink a lot ) but I've just claimed a headache or oh this is my 3rd/4,th one ....no one has really noticed or cares.

My DH knows and is very very supportive. He knows how my weight gain over the last few years has impacted my happiness....and right now after loosing 15lbs I am buzzing 💯

LilyTheSavage · 12/05/2024 07:10

Morning everybody. So encouraging to read all your experiences and share this together.

I went to a lunch party yesterday and would previously have tucked in but as you've all said, the food noise just disappears. It's like an injection of self-control. I did wonder if this is how slim people eat. I am just eating so much less and drinking so much less alcohol.
Going to do injection number 3 tomorrow and will then move up to a slightly larger dose for my second month.
Thanks for all the support.
