Well done @Blackcat50 that's great! And to @LoquaciousPineapple- love the holiday goals.

Welcome to @Pinkbendyman, the more the merrier. Apart from pounds... more pounds do not make us merrier!

I agree with you all about not telling people. My brother knows, and he told his wife, but they have been very supportive. I told my hairdresser, as she's a bit of a therapist to me too, although I don't think she was convinced it was a good idea.

I've had a bit of a whoosh this last week, after being stuck at 105kg for about a month I've dropped to 102kg, so that has been a real boost. So 13kg so far, which I'm so happy with. I feel so much lighter, even if no-one else has noticed!

I ordered some meals from Frive with a discount and they have been really great. Much nicer than I anticipated, and have helped me eat proper meals. I can't afford to stay on them when the discounted period ends, but there are so many similar deals out there, it will help until I get back into a proper routine of work again.

I got some Bol ones too, so thanks for the suggestion.

I've started doing some yoga. I've done a bit before. My mum did it for over 30 years daily up to 3 wks before she died. She amazed the carers with her core strength, so it's been a bit of an inspiration to get me active.

LoquaciousPineapple · 26/08/2024 09:11

Official weigh in day today and it's a 3.5 loss this week. I'm now 1.5lbs below my original holiday goal and just need to lose 2.5lbs more in the next five weeks to meet my stretch goal of 3 stone total. Sadly my clothes are only just starting to show my weight loss so it's a bit embarrassing to think how tight they must have been pre-diet.

Congrats on the whoosh @mostlyhalfbaked ! Glad you're finding the ready meals are helping, I might look into them now I'm back at work and trying to juggle "I don't care about food" with setting a healthy example to my toddler.

Congrats @Blackcat50, it's so exciting to meet a proper goal. Enjoy flaunting your new figure, I'm sure the weight loss is noticeable but it's the confidence that makes the biggest difference!

Greentrilby · 26/08/2024 13:52

Great losses to read about folks, well done to you all. I think setting mini goals are a great motivator.

ive just dropped into another stone zone - going from 14.4 to 11.11 today which makes a total of two and a half stone lost. I’m just amazed at how well this is working.

I’m booked into the hairdressers on Thursday for a re-style as my treat for reaching a mini goal and can’t wait!

ChangeEmailAddress · 26/08/2024 14:08

What dose are you all on? I did 5 doses from my first 2.5mg pen, then 10 doses from 2 5mg pens. With my 3rd 5mg I increased to a dose of 6mg, then 7.5mg. I'm going to do another 7.5mg from it, and then my 5th pen will be at 7.5mg.

Just wondering how you are all doing it? I'm assuming that if you're 'by the book' then some will already be on the highest doses by now?

Snipples · 26/08/2024 14:08

Well done ladies - great results there. What are your new hair plans? I desperately need mine sorted too.

I'm at goal today - 12 stone bang on I've got three weeks left at 1.7mg (same as 10mg on MJ) and then I'm weaning down. So I'm thinking I might get to 11stone 10 and I'm stopping there.

A couple of months ago I bought a skirt and when I tried it on it was way too small and wouldn't zip and it now fits which is proof of how many inches are now gone. I'm starting a new job in October and I feel great knowing my clothes all look good. Having a good clear out now of my fat clothes.

ChangeEmailAddress · 26/08/2024 14:11

My son is selling my clothes on vinted as fast as I am buying new ones on there! I've lost 40lb so far, and many, many more to go.

Greentrilby · 26/08/2024 17:29

@Snipples i rather fancy a blunt cut, off my shoulders, so that I can add a wave with my straighteners if you get what I mean

ChangeEmailAddress · 26/08/2024 17:53

Does the edit button only work for a limited amount of time? I've realised that I messed up my numbers of pens. I used only 1 5mg pen before increasing the dose with the pen I am currently using. It's because I take the 'extra' 5th dose from each pen - it messed up my counting! Which also means that I've lost weight faster than I realised, and it hasn't cost as much as I thought! Winner winner chicken dinner ...... although not feeling hungry at the moment.

SilverHeels · 27/08/2024 07:17

@ChangeEmailAddress I have just started a 10mg pen but did just over 7.5 as don’t like to jump up doses and 7.5 working well for me.

I am away and it’s my birthday and week off etc so am drinking some alcohol but it’s amazing to just not be worried about food. These types of weeks would have seen me gain 3+ lb in the past as I would have thought ‘fuck it’ and ‘treated myself ‘ to a week of over eating. Now I feel I am treating myself by not overeating. I may gain a lb or 2 but it will go very quickly and I won’t have that feeling of shame and bloated stomach.

SilverHeels · 27/08/2024 07:19

I did my last dose after 8 days as I was out for a few meals but the supression didn’t drop that much. I enjoyed my meals out but ate far far less than I would pre MJ.

LoquaciousPineapple · 27/08/2024 19:15

Congrats @Greentrilby and @Snipples! Amazing to be at your goal, I can't imagine doing so well!

I'm still taking 7.5mg doses (but from a 10mg pen). The suppression is still strong for me after my 8th dose at this level and I'm having good losses, so will stick with this until I feel the effects aren't as good. I'm going to wait one more week to see if things change, but if not my next pen will also be a 10mg one, and I have the opportunity to move up if I need to mid-month.

DragonflyRuby · 28/08/2024 17:29

Hello, I’ve just found this thread so hope it’s ok to join in! I started on 8th May but have mainly been on the Continuing MJ threads.

I’m struggling a lot as I’ve been playing with the same 2/3lb for the last month+ and feel like the 7.5mg pen has done nothing for me but I stupidly reordered the same as I ordered early.

I’ve been doing 10mg from a 7.5mg pen for the last couple of weeks, knowing it means I’ll get less out of the pen but it’s still not doing that much and I’m worried it’s stopped working for me!

I lost 2st in 9 weeks and then have just gone up and down the same few pounds for the last 5 weeks and am losing heart. No negative side effects either so that’s a plus but I’d take a few to feel a bit of suppression again.

I’ve always injected into my stomach so think I’ll do another 10mg but in my arm when next jab is due and see if that impacts anything. Has anyone else had a really long stall and come through it?

ClonedSquare · 31/08/2024 06:31

@DragonflyRuby From reading threads on Reddit where Americans have had access to Mounjaro for a lot longer, stalls seem to be quite common. I haven't experienced it myself yet, but expect to. Usually they seem to resolve themselves but it would be worth reading over there to see if anything in particular helped!

I hit my holiday stretch goal today- three stone loss in total! I'm in shock that I've done it so far in advance of my target date (30 September), Mounjaro is magic. Four weeks to go to holiday and 8lbs until I'm at a 50lb total loss so I'm cautiously setting that as a second stretch goal, but fully aware I'm pushing my luck now and would just be happy with anything I lose now.

chrispenrallt1 · 31/08/2024 07:33

Haven’t posted for a while. Today I weigh 10 stone 12 from a start weight of 13 stone 10 lb on 23rd May. I can fit into some size 12 jeans and most of my dresses are too big now. I was very nervous of the needle but it’s so small that it’s painless. I have used 1 x 2.5 and 2 x 5 pens in my journey. Im stepping up to 7.5 next week as I have 2 pens in the fridge, but I think after they are used I will be going down to 5g then 2.5 as I have had no problems or side effects at all. I would like to see another stone off and hope that I will reach my goal by Christmas. The weight is slow coming off now, well it seems that way as I weigh daily, but a loss is a loss.. I have used Bolt and Oushk and had no problems with either supplier

Greentrilby · 01/09/2024 12:14

@ClonedSquare three stone loss! You go girl! Well done and I’m over the moon for you. I am imagining you packing your case, thinking of how you will look and feel in your holiday clothes.

@chrispenrallt1 and you are almost at a three stone loss too. Well done! Size 12 jeans is a great milestone. I’m interested in how you are going to scale down your dose and think I’ll try and do the same once I’ve caught you both up!

are either of you thinking of a maintenance dose on a permanent basis?

ClonedSquare · 01/09/2024 12:33

@Greentrilby Thanks! Definitely much happier about the prospect of summer clothes and hot weather being that much lighter!

I started from a very high weight (hence why I don't share exact numbers!) so I'm nowhere near considering maintenance yet. I think it will be another year before I'm there and I plan to try managing my weight on my own. But go back on low dose Mounjaro if I needed to. I do think I've learned a lot about how to eat better now, and I think because of how much I'll hopefully have lost, gaining a few pounds after I stop wouldn't be as devastating as if I had had less to lose in the first place, if that makes sense?

mostlyhalfbaked · 02/09/2024 19:02

Hi @DragonflyRuby I had a stall too, but then it just started coming off again. So hopefully it's just a blip. Can you inject into your arm? I thought it was tummy or thigh?

@ClonedSquare well done that's such amazing progress. I have far to go too, and although I've posted my weight it's always in KG because I'm less familiar with that, and don't want to know how many stones I actually weigh.

@chrispenrallt1 well done those NSW are so motivating! Good you haven't had any side effects.

I'm really hoping that I can keep the changes I've made long term. It's so much easier not thinking about food all the time. The meals I've been getting have stopped me going to the shops as much, and when I do I just don't get the urge like I did before to chuck in a chocolate bar or 4!!

Pinkbendyman · 03/09/2024 13:46

I’m another May starter who has just reached a 3 stone weight loss today! I’ve not been this weight since pre-pregnancy. So proud of myself!

Only 10lbs left to lose to reach a healthy BMI.

Congratulations to all of us May MJers! 🎉🥳👏

SilverHeels · 03/09/2024 13:52

Well done on the losses.

I am away and have not weighed for over a week and have no idea if I have gained with the holiday or not. Will weigh on Thursday.

I took my first full 10mg dose yesterday after counting clicks and staying on 7.5 due to holiday, I feel icky today and hungry but food is making me feel ill. It’s not bad but clearly my body noticing the increase.

I have another stone to go and had a stall so hoping the 10mg will restart my loss.

Pinkbendyman · 03/09/2024 16:26

@SilverHeels I’ve had slight nausea for the first 24 hours after each 10mg injection. Luckily that’s the only side effect I’ve had.

I’m thinking that my last stone is going to be the most challenging to lose too. In it together!

ClonedSquare · 03/09/2024 18:58

Well done @Pinkbendyman ! It's a great milestone to reach!

@SilverHeels Thanks for updating about 10mg. I've just done my 9th 7.5mg jab and I'm finding the effects are definitely not as strong as they were even last week. It's only Day 2 post-jab and already my appetite is definitely back and I definitely could snack a fair bit even if not as much as the old days! Considering going up to 10mg next week.

Greentrilby · 04/09/2024 09:43

@Pinkbendyman well done on your journey and entering the ‘three stone loss’ group. I’ve got some way to go yet to join you - around 2.5 stone loss so far, and have stalled this week so I’m a bit fed up but know it’s only a temporary blip. Onwards and upwards.

Pinkbendyman · 04/09/2024 16:38

@Greentrilby yes, I’m sure it’ll be temporary but it’s frustrating, isn’t it? It took me over 2 weeks to lose the final pound of that 3rd stone off!
I’ve noticed that the weight loss has really slowed down the nearer I get to my goal weight. This is no bad thing though, I’m telling myself, it’ll get me used to maintaining. I’m really trying to only weigh myself once or twice a week though, otherwise I get fed up and frustrated.

CrystalSea · 04/09/2024 23:28

Is anyone else struggling with meal planning? Normally when I’m trying to eat more healthily/lose weight, I spend ages planning and cooking my food so it tastes great but is low cal/carb/whatever.

And now I can’t be bothered. I’m so not interested that I can’t be bothered to make myself massive salads or whatever but just have a cracker and a slice of cheese.

Maybe I’m worrying about nothing.

SilverHeels · 05/09/2024 07:15

Well done on the losses it’s amazing. I am almost on the 3 stone loss and hoping to get there soon.

@CrystalSea I am the same re meal planning and also food shopping. My family are complaining that the fridge is not fully stocked and the lack of snack situation in the house !

I weighed today for the first time in 2 weeks. I have been away and had an extra day between doses to allow me to enjoy more food than usual. I am 1.6lb down and delighted. I have not felt deprived at all but ate to my appetite which was clearly still reduced a bit. Previous to MJ I would have seen a gain of a few lb.

SW pre MJ 203lb
SW on MJ 197 lb. BMI 36
CW 160lb. BMI 28
GW healthy BMI

I am short and still have a way to go to get to a healthy BMI but feel it is achievable with this drug it’s life changing.
