@LoquaciousPineapple I have 10mg in the fridge as well. I had nearly 3 weeks off taking the jabs ( 2 missed jabs) and went back on 7.5mg this week. I’ve had virtually no appetite suppression this week. I’m due to inject today and I just don’t know what to do. I’m very close to goal weight but I gained 4lb in the weeks I had off.

Greentrilby · 16/08/2024 10:53

Hi everyone,
I lost one pound this week which takes me from 14.4 to 12 stone. I dipped under 12 at the beginning of the week but then had my birthday which had to involve cake, fizz and Maltesers so I’m taking a pound off as a win!

@colleysmill and @Snipples well done you two! You are both so close to your goals.

@LoquaciousPineapple ive always stuck to the same dose if it’s working and only moved up if I felt the need. If I were you I’d do 7.5 clicks from your 10mg pen - especially as you don’t want to be floored by a bigger dose as you start your new job. you can always up it next week.

I’m thinking of extending the time between doses: I’ve moved from seven days to eight and might try to go for nine days this week as I’m hoping it will force me to use some willpower and lessen my dependence on the jabs to help with tapering off. As my DH is also on Mounjaro I think we can share a pen to get round the 30 day expiry.

I agree with @Snipples that it’s about finding the right weight for you and not be fixated by BMI. ideally I’d like to get down to 11 stone and a size 12/14 so I’ve still got another stone to lose but I don’t think I could maintain a much lower weight on a permanent basis.

Hi, had a bit of a break from jabs and went away with my daughter. Have started to tackle the mammoth task of clearing my mums house, and doing admin and am feeling much more focused

Thankfully I haven't put anything on and am back on 5mg. I know that I'm still on Mountjaro, but got this one from Zava as with Voy my coaching got cancelled, and I didn't feel like the extra cost was worth it.
Being on here and reading messages, even if I don't always post, is great support- thanks everyone.
Anyhow I seem to be getting really sulphurous burps this time! Not very nice when in an enclosed space with someone!!

I'm so impressed with how well people are doing, some amazing losses and NSV's mine is getting into a pair of size 18 jeans, when I've been in 20-22. Might need to do some shopping for work clothes.

Greentrilby · 16/08/2024 11:23

Lovely to hear from you @mostlyhalfbaked im glad you’ve had time away with your daughter, I bet it was lovely. Clearing your mums house must be hard.
Size 18 jeans is a great NSV and such a boost - well done you.

LoquaciousPineapple · 16/08/2024 12:19

Thanks for the input, guys. Like I said, I've been burned before by thinking a dose was really working for me only to find out the next week it wasn't. Expensive mistake! I think I'll stick with 7.5mg this week and see how it goes, especially as I'm taking it two days early this time (switching my injections to Friday night to accommodate new working pattern). Then play it week by week.

LoquaciousPineapple · 16/08/2024 12:21

@Upinthenightagain It's such a hard decision isn't it! Luckily 7.5mg still seems to be working for me, but I'm totally pro moving up if needs be.

@Greentrilby well done on being at 12 stone! It's so frustrating when you see better readings mid-week isn't it! 😂

@mostlyhalfbaked great non-scale victory! I bought a dress in a size smaller than usual and it feels so good, doesn't it!

It’s really hard to know what to do isn’t it. I think you can only do what you think is best for you. I wish the guidance was more flexible as I think everyone reacts differently and, as you say, mistakes are expensive. Good luck with the new job!

Not that I encourage this, but when I have been between two minds, I have gone up, with the idea that I could count clicks to administer a smaller dose if I feel like it, or an in-between dose. It gives you more flexibility, whereas the lower dose, if it stops working for you mid-pen, the most you can do is inject yourself twice to bump it to what you would have wanted, but that means injecting twice, using two needles, and it will finish much quicker.

mhayley1 · 17/08/2024 13:27

Hi, I am having loose (liquid) stools on Mounjaro 10. I had no issues with 2.5. 5.0 or 7.5. Anyone else having this? I am supposed to move to 12.5 next week but I am having second thoughts

LoquaciousPineapple · 20/08/2024 06:41

Forgot to name change again (ClonedSquare)!

Another 2-2.5lb loss again this week so I'm very happy. I'm six weeks away from my holiday and only have 2lbs to lose by then to hit my first "big" goal so I'm very pleased. If I can lose 6lbs in those six weeks, I'm at 3 stone loss total which is exciting.

I decided to stick with the 7.5mg dose this week and it's still very effective. This is my seventh dose at that level, so much more successful than when I tried to stick at 5mg for a second month. New job is going well (although it's mainly just training at the moment) and it's nice to have something stopping me from obsessing over weight loss!

@3wDavid I think that’s the best approach for me. I did end up doing clicks with the 5mg pen to get 7.5mg but like you said it just meant the pen ran out quicker. I think I’ll stick with a 10mg pen but doing 7.5mg doses until I feel the need to move up. Then I get 5 weeks out of the pen without even breaking the 30 day expiry limit.

That’s exactly what happened to me when I moved up to 10mg. I had my 2nd 10mg injection on Saturday and things have improved since then though.

Weird how since I started MJ in May, my only major issue was constipation on all the other dose rates?!?!

Pinkbendyman · 20/08/2024 07:35

I would like to join this thread please btw.

I started my MJ journey on 16th May but have mainly been on the “Continuing Mounjaro” thread.

I’d like to be part of this conversation instead though, with the experience and journey that we’ve already been on ☺️

SilverHeels · 21/08/2024 06:37

Welcome @Pinkbendyman I also started posting here recently as the main thread moves very fast and agree it is loveky to share the journey with people at a similar stage.

I have stayed the same this week which is ok. I had a long weekend away and had 8 days between jabs and enjoyed a bit more food than I have been having recently. I had so many comments and compliments about my 35lb weight loss it was lovely.

I was in the office yesterday in a hybrid meeting and the large screen wide angle image of me was so awful it has spurred me on. I have another 20lb to go to get to a healthy BMI. I can’t let the compliments make me complacent as I am still overweight.

At least with MJ I know I can get there and achieve my goal for the first time as an adult. It’s literally life changing.

I am due to go to 10mg next jab so will have to decide. I am finding 7.5 very effective and no side effects.

Greentrilby · 21/08/2024 09:53

@LoquaciousPineapple well done on your continued weight loss. Looks like you are on target to smash your big goal. Like you, I’m taking a smaller dose from a larger dose pen as it’s more cost effective and it’s easy to up the dose mid pen if you need to.

@Pinkbendyman welcome to the group.

@SilverHeels i know what you mean about getting complacent,I’ve lost a similar amount to you and have about the same left to go. Yesterday we had some photos taken at work and, although I definitely looked better, I still looked overweight. I hadn’t seen some of my colleagues for a while and they all wanted to know my ‘secret’ for weight loss. I mumbled about protein, fewer carbs and more exercise so didn’t lie but couldn’t bring myself to mention MJ.

I just don’t know why I can’t be open about how MJ is changing my life.

SilverHeels · 21/08/2024 16:59

@Greentrilby I have told people I am eating fewer calories and drinking less booze which is true. I don’t want to tell people about MJ as it’s not their business and most people are easily moved on in conversation as they are self obsessed !

LoquaciousPineapple · 22/08/2024 08:22

@Greentrilby Because people in general are really ignorant about these medications and telling them about it is asking for a load of unsolicited rubbish. That's why I'm not telling people!

Just did my mid-week weigh in and I'm below my holiday goal weight by half a pound 😄 I'm aware it might fluctuate by the end of the week and "officially" I won't meet it this time, but very pleased this morning!

Greentrilby · 22/08/2024 09:32

I think you are right, there is such a lot of misinformation and crap about MJ swirling around.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 22/08/2024 11:53

Totally understand @Greentrilby and @LoquaciousPineapple about keeping silent about MJ. I haven’t told anyone in fear of judgement. Don’t want to feel I have to justify why I need the help of medication to be able to get healthy. I can eat less, move more and lose weight but struggle with the food noise and always put weight back on. This time feels so different.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 22/08/2024 11:54

Congratulations @LoquaciousPineapple on getting to your holiday goal weight.

Snipples · 22/08/2024 12:12

Well done @LoquaciousPineapple - hope you have a great holiday.

We're at centerparcs this week and I'm finding the bikes so much easier this year now I've shifted nearly 2 stone. Just shows how much extra weight that is to lug around.

I'm on 1.7mg wegovy now which is the same as 10mg MJ and I can barely eat or finish any meals. It feels way too high on the appetite suppression.

I feel a bit sick at meal times now as it's such a struggle. Will be interested to weigh in when I get back.

LoquaciousPineapple · 22/08/2024 16:43

Thanks all 🙂 Still five and a half weeks until the holiday so maybe I'll lose a little bit more.

@Snipples Enjoy centerparcs! I've noticed how much easier it is to move around and chase after my son having lost a similar amount, it's such a great feeling isn't it! You don't realise how hard it was to carry the excess weight until it starts going.

Snipples · 22/08/2024 16:55

So much easier to move about. I read somewhere that every pound of excess weight is about 3-4lbs of pressure on your knees so even a little drop makes a huge difference.

Really hoping these are changes for life now otherwise this is a very expensive failed experiment 😂

colleysmill · 23/08/2024 08:43

Another 2lbs off this week for me!

SW 12st 7lbs (14/05)
CE 10st 8lbs

I'm pleased in many ways it's been steady 1 or 2lbs per week. I've avoided the "ozempic face" and this week people have started to really comment and notice I've lost weight.

I have an old left knee injury which often plays up and being lighter has absolutely 💯 helped. I've got other arthritis (not weight related) and being lighter has definitely helped how effective the medication for this has been too. For me trying to avoid cardiac issues was a big motivator for me and hopefully ive reduced my risk factors for those too. I just look healthier too which is amazing.

I always remember that famous Kate moss quote about nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels. My version is "nothing tastes as good as the pure joy of putting on clothes from your wardrobe that you don't have to wiggle or squeeeeeeeeeze into".

Just the joy of being able to comfortably do up a pair of shorts I'd bought too small in the first place is fantastic 😂😂😂

colleysmill · 23/08/2024 08:48

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair
I haven't told anyone either - I haven't lied as I have genuinely continued to calorie count, monitor my macros, exercise and do mindfulness alongside the jab - I just haven't mentioned the jab!!

I know I am the type of person that will likely always need to be careful and mindful to keep it off. And I am absolutely determined to keep it off this time.

Blackcat50 · 23/08/2024 11:20

Morning all,

Final weigh in before holiday and I made my mini goal by 2lb!!! Hooray! As amazing as I feel and how considerably smaller I look, some of my holiday clothes from last year are not looking huge so I think this means that I put a lot more weight on over the past year that I thought. Alas, I feel 100% better than I did than last summer and will be flaunting my new bod and not hiding it. Decided to do a reduced jab for hols so it is still in my system but with lower risks of side effects in case I eat something that sets me off.

Starting weight 14 13lb
Wk 1: lost 5lb (14 8lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 2: lost 4lb (14 4lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 3: lost 3lb (14 1lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 4: lost 1.5lb (13 13.5lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 5: lost 3lb (13 10.5lb) - 5mg
Wk 6: lost 2lb (13 8.5lb) - 3.8mg
Wk 7: lost 5lb (13 3.5lb) - 5mg
Wk 8: lost 0.5lb (13 3lb) - 3.8mg
Wk 9: lost 1.5lb (13 1lb) - 5mg
Wk 10: lost 1.5lb (12 12.5lb) - 5mg
Wk11: lost 2.5lb (12 9lb) - 6mg
