Some great losses to read about today. Well done everyone! I just love this supportive thread.

Snipples · 05/08/2024 23:27

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair that's an incredible loss. Well done!

I've held steady over the past two weeks. Couldn't take my jab as staying with the in-laws and they're very nosy and I'd never have gotten away with hiding it in the fridge. I've felt a bit sick since taking my jab since, even though only missed one injection technically. Hopefully it will be easier to wean off it when you dose down first.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 06/08/2024 06:04

Thanks @Snipples . You’ve done well not to gain while you have been away. What dose are you on ? I get nausea every morning that eases off after an hour or two. It isn’t nice but very small price to pay for my pyjamas near falling off this morning they are so big on me now. Need to get some new ones.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 06/08/2024 06:07

Totally agree @Greentrilby . Really helps to have people who understand. I’m not telling anyone about MJ as people can be so judgemental and opinionated when they don’t understand how hard this is. Wasn’t an easy decision for most of us to take injections but I had little choice. So glad I did.

Greentrilby · 09/08/2024 08:29

Morning everyone, just checking in to see how you are all doing?

so after my stall last week, I’ve got back to my normal pattern and have lost 2lbs this week. I’m 13 weeks into this journey and, apart from being constipated, I’ve been fortunate not to have any side effects.

starting weight 14st 4lbs
current weight 12st 1lb
I will be thrilled when the scales go under 12st.
My DH is also taking Mounjaro and is doing well too. He’s lighter than me and is much fitter but I’m catching him up! Makes meal times and eating out so much easier with both of us reducing our food intake. The rest of the family haven’t commented on our new eating habits - tbh they are wrapped up in their own lives and they don’t take anywhere near as much notice of us as I thought they did.

@Upinthenightagain sending you positive thoughts re your test results.

@ClonedSquare getting closer to that holiday now, I’m imagining you looking at your wardrobe and thinking that your holiday clothes are too big! And have you started the new job yet?

@3wDavid how is the dosing going? I didn’t stick to the exact movement up doses as I felt going from 2.5 to 5 was too big a jump. I’m on 5 now though.

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair did you get new pyjamas? I’ve bought some new bras and have gone down two cup sizes which I’m thrilled about. I’m also going shopping this weekend for some new jeans. I usually buy straight leg ones as I always looked like a parsnip in skinnies. Now there is too much choice and I have no idea which to buy. Anyone got any ideas?

and dear @mostlyhalfbaked how are you? Life is hard when you lose a parent and I’ve been thinking about you lots.

3wDavid · 09/08/2024 08:45

@Greentrilby hey, thanks for checking in!

So I’m on 5 mg as of Monday. No side effects. Suppression is sorta same-y as before - I can eat, but can’t eat a lot and often can’t finish my plate at dinner. So, yeah, all good!

I was also afraid of the jump from 2.5 to 5 so did 4-5 weeks on 3.75!

Ah glad you are doing ok. I’m usually a clean plate girl and still find it odd when I leave stuff. I think this is how thin people eat.

It's been only 10 days. I guess it also depends on how much you have to lose, but you need to give it time. Some people lose a lot initially, others don't until they move up a dose. 2.5 mg is super efficient for some, and doesn't at all make a difference for others (it's not even considered a therapeutic dose tbh). Give it time! :) It would probably take a couple of weeks for you to notice a difference, in the absence of scales.
Make sure you drink at least 2-3 l water per day; focus on eating a decent amount of protein (at least 1 g per kg of body weight); and take extra fibre for the constipation.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 09/08/2024 15:50

Well done @Greentrilby great loss this week. Soon be in the 11 stone category…I’m so envious but hopefully will be there or near there at some point in the future. Mounjaro gives me hope I will be as not overeaten or gained in 13 weeks so all good. 46 lbs down so delighted. No chance to shop for new pjs yet but will have to soon. Or get out the safety pins !

Glad you doing well on 5mg @3wDavid . I also titrated up doing 3.5mg for few weeks then 4mg then 5mg and all went well. No side effects bar morning nausea…a bit like morning sickness but goes away after an hour or two.

Just want to thank everyone on this thread for all the great advice and camaraderie here. It is a great help to all of us who don’t share the MJ secret with family and friends. Don’t need the judgement but there is none of that here. 😃

It's been 10 days, be kind to yourself! I've lost 35lbs (in 14 weeks, to be clear!) and I don't think I can really see much difference in the mirror. I definitely wouldn't expect to see it after 10 days!

LoquaciousPineapple · 09/08/2024 18:00

posted too soon!

LoquaciousPineapple · 09/08/2024 18:06

Well done @Greentrilby, glad you're feeling back on track! It must be great having your husband on the same journey. I find it quite stressful eating dinner as a family at the moment. If I were single, I'd probably skip dinner entirely some days but have to force myself to be a good example to the toddler.

I've not noticed my clothes getting much bigger, which is a bit disappointing. But really shows how tight I must have been wearing them before! Looking forward to some new clothes though! Thanks for asking about the job, I start the week after next. Looking forward to having something to occupy myself!

Blackcat50 · 09/08/2024 18:15

Hi everyone.

Great as ever to hear how people have been doing. Everyone responds so different to it and side effects are varied - this thread is really helpful in understanding the drug more.

Ive had an interesting week in that I was on my bonus dose which was short of the full dose because I’d microdosed a bit to find the right level to null the sickness and upset stomach. As a result, the food noise was there and I’ve been snacking on the wrong things but I think that going over on the calories has done something because I’ve still managed to loose 3 this week. Wondering how on earth that works but here I am in a new stone bracket at 1.5lb away with 2wks to go until my mini goal. This drug is the best investment I could have ever made in myself

Starting weight 14 13lb
Wk 1: lost 5lb (14 8lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 2: lost 4lb (14 4lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 3: lost 3lb (14 1lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 4: lost 1.5lb (13 13.5lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 5: lost 3lb (13 10.5lb) - 5mg
Wk 6: lost 2lb (13 8.5lb) - 3.8mg
Wk 7: lost 5lb (13 3.5lb) - 5mg
Wk 8: lost 0.5lb (13 3lb) - 3.8mg
Wk 9: lost 1.5lb (13 1.5lb) - 5mg
Wk 10: lost 3lb (12 12.5lb) - 4/5mg
GW: 11 11 takes me to 30 BMI

Greentrilby · 09/08/2024 18:30

@Blackcat50 well done. A new stone bracket is such a boost!

LoquaciousPineapple · 09/08/2024 18:35

Well done @Blackcat50 ! I find there's not always a correlation between what I eat and how much I lose! I've had some genuinely bad weeks where I lost more than my healthiest ones.

Snipples · 09/08/2024 23:18

Love reading everyone's progress. Some amazing losses and such a great feeling to get into a new stone bracket. Well done @Blackcat50

It's my birthday today and I woke up to another pound off so officially 20lbs down. I'm 4lbs away from my goal of 12stone now - which feels entirely doable. Probably only planning another month of full dosing and then I'm going to scale back.

My clothes are all reassuringly loose, or fitting really well (ie the ones that were way too tight before). It makes getting dressed in the morning so easy now as I can pretty much wear what I want, compared to before I started jabs when I looked like a marshmallow in everything. So glad I tried these. My auntie wants to start them now too as she's been very impressed with my results. So hoping to support her through that too.

Just realised I posted below on a different username (LoquaciousPineapple) 😂 @Greentrilby I wasn't just a random person replying to you about my job and holiday!

Fluctuating between a 2-3lb loss this week. I’m constantly at 3lbs down mid-week but only 2 by the end. Maybe I need to change my weighing day!

Greentrilby · 11/08/2024 14:32

Ha ha yes I thought you’d name changed!

colleysmill · 13/08/2024 08:12

Just checking in after a few weeks away.

Sw 12st 7lb (14th may)
Today's weight 10st 11lb bmi 26.6

Still my very steady 1 ti 2lbs off - I did put 1.5lbs on whilst on holiday (all those cocktails round the pool!!).

I've decided to do one more pen and see if i can get down to 10st which puts me in the healthy bracket for the 1st time since I was probably aged 10 haha.

I'm on the 7.5mg and I'm going to stay with that dose as I still get side effects for about 4 days after taking it.

SilverHeels · 14/08/2024 20:28

Checking in as I am a May starter. Started 21st May but lost 7 lb since the start of May.

I had a lovely NSV this evening . I had a bath for the first time for months and the bath felt huge with loads of room. I am 35lb down and am realising what a difference it has made. Have another 20lb to go so not near target yet.

lying in the bath virtually up to my neck in bubbles instead of my tummy being all above the water felt really good.

Snipples · 15/08/2024 15:14

That sounds like a good plan @colleysmill and very doable.

Amazing NSV @SilverHeels

I am 2lbs off my goal weight now. My new pen just arrived and I am planning for this to be the last one at full dose and then start weaning off from next month. I think I might jab every ten days when I start tapering down.

My BMI is 27.2 and I started at 31.5 on 16 May so I'm thrilled with that. I'm pretty much back to being a size 12 now so even though I'm still "overweight" I think another stone off would be too much to maintain, so I'm not going by a perfect BMI per the charts.

I had a bit of a hiccup reordering my latest pen as I'd taken a break while staying at the in-laws so they were asking questions but managed to sort in the end.

Lost - 22lbs

LoquaciousPineapple · 16/08/2024 07:53

Edit: forgot to name change again!

I'm torn over what to do with my next pen.

When I was on 5mg, I ordered a second pen in that dose as it was working well. But after the first week, 5mg just wasn’t working so in total I ended up doing one 5mg and two 7.5mg from that pen.

I ordered a 7.5mg as my next pen and used that with no problems. So now I've done 6 weeks on 7.5mg and the effects are still very good.

The pen sitting in my fridge is a 10mg one. I'm really dithering over whether to move up to 10mg or count clicks and stick on 7.5mg for a while longer.

I start my new job on Monday and would be injecting today, so might just do 7.5mg today and consider moving up next week once the first days of work are done with.
