Thank you, both! We're all doing so well and it's so motivating to see everyone's losses. A handbag sounds like a great treat, maybe I'll copy that when I've lost a bit more. Surely all the money we're saving on food will pay for it!

We weighed our toddler a few weeks ago and he was just over 2 stone. Crazy to think I was carrying the equivalent of him around all the time before!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 18/07/2024 06:45

@ClonedSquare love the example of losing your toddler’s weight. I figure I was carrying round 3 of my 4 cats 🐈 🤣. Have a lot more cats to lose but feel like this is so doable when I’m not dealing with food noise any more.
I finally took the plunge and took 5mg dose last night. Hopefully all works well after doing 3.5, 4 and now 5mg. Praying no major side effects.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 18/07/2024 06:49

@Greentrilby Lulu Guiness bag sounds great.
I think treating yourself and having goals help you on the journey. If I thought of all the weight I have to lose I would head straight for chocolate but doing it focused on a stone at a time seems easier.

Greentrilby · 18/07/2024 10:26

So weigh in day for me today and I’ve lost 2lbs which is pretty consistent. I’ve got a 5mg and a 7.5mg pen so think I’m going to stay on 5mg and see how it goes. Almost at a two stone loss which is my goal for the end of the month.

SW 14.4
CW 12.5
My M&S size 16 shorts bought in June are now feeling better and I can wear a normal t shirt with them rather than a flowy one! Little wins like this really boost my self esteem and, although I know I’ve got a long way to go, I’m so happy with my journey so far.

ClonedSquare · 18/07/2024 11:34

Well done @Greentrilby ! Being able to wear more fitted clothes is something I'm really looking forward to!

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair I think I'll start referring to weight loss as "many more cats to lose" 😹 Or "I have 3-4 more toddlers to lose" sounds less daunting than double digit pounds!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 18/07/2024 15:16

Totally @Greentrilby nicer clothes are such a goal. No more elastic waists and baggy stuff. I have some lovely smaller clothes in the back of the wardrobe can’t wait to wear again hopefully. I say hopefully but I’m pretty sure it will happen as the Mj makes this so much easier than all the other diets in last 30 years.

Great idea @ClonedSquare a cat or a toddler at a time. It is such a long journey ahead. So lovely to have friends on here going through this journey together. I haven’t told anyone for fear of judgement that I’m on the flab jabs. It would be tough without you guys 😊

ClonedSquare · 18/07/2024 16:53

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair Having the support is so important! My husband knows I'm on the jabs but I don't feel like telling anyone else so this is my main support too!

This just feels like such a different experience to dieting in the past. However slow it goes, or if I "only" lose a pound or two a week, I can actually see myself sticking to this. I've made mini-goals in my diary running all the way up to the birthday after next. I'd never have been so optimistic on a normal diet!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 18/07/2024 17:01

I totally understand what you mean @ClonedSquare . This feels so different. I only hope keeping the weight off will be easier. That’s my main problem as is a lot of people’s here. I can lose weight (but never as easily as this as usually fighting cravings) and gain but maintaining a loss has never worked long term. I’m hopeful that I can maybe do a maintenance dose after as have heard some providers will do this. Yes I too feel optimistic that this is not a “cheat” as the critics say but a tool which makes things easier for us fighting food noise.

Blackcat50 · 19/07/2024 07:30

Weigh in for me today

Starting weight 14 13lb
Wk 1: lost 5lb (14 8lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 2: lost 4lb (14 4lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 3: lost 3lb (14 1lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 4: lost 1.5lb (13 13.5lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 5: lost 3lb (13 10.5lb) - 5mg
Wk 6: lost 2lb (13 8.5lb) - 3.8mg
Wk 7: this week lost 5lb (13 3.5lb) - 5mg
GW: 11 11 takes me to 30 BMI

Well, 5lb! What a turn of events. Went back up to 5mg this week. Not sure if it was the jab or what I ate on day 2 (spicy foods) but I was unwell again at the start of the week for 24hrs. Felt exhausted the day after. Also has been week of my period so some water retention loss.

I’m going to do 4mg this week as I don’t want to ill again but I will also pay more attention to eating the right foods. I need to reorder too - thinking of changing from Asda to ZAVA, £40 less and the Asda service is run by ZAVA. Anyone has a referral code at all?

Like others on here, aside from the husband, no one else knows what I’ve been doing. I am really chuffed with my 8wk loss of 1 stone 9.5lb - it’s really noticeable to how I see my body and others are noticing a loss too which is nice. 5wks left until holiday and I’m excited to buy some new holiday clothes and colourful costumes, not just my usual shy-away black :)

Great work this week team - have a lovely weekend!

colleysmill · 19/07/2024 07:52

Bit late checking in this week BUT! I had a little whoosh after my no loss week last week and today weighed at my mini goal of 10st 13!!

Genuinely I have not weighed 10 stone something since I was a student I actually can't believe it.

SW (14/05) 12st 7
CW (18/07) 10 St 13

I went up to the 7.5mg pen this week but just did 6mg as I had bad side effects on the 1st 5mg dose and I'm glad I did as I felt quite nauseous for 2 days.

Lovely to read everyone's progress! Well done !

Greentrilby · 19/07/2024 21:31

@Blackcat50 @colleysmill wow, well done, super losses both of you. I’m so pleased for you.

i wouldn’t touch Zava with a barge pole and have submitted a formal complaint to them about their delays in posting, not answering messages and fobbing me off on the phone. In my view they are swamped with orders and are failing to keep up with their promises. But that’s only my experience, others may have a different view.

colleysmill · 21/07/2024 10:17

I had 3 items of clothing I've bought over the years that I've never been able to fit in to ..... tried all of them on yesterday and 1st time ever they fitted!! That feeling of them sliding on and not jiggling round trying to squeeze them on was amazing!!

My biggest problem is now inside my head. I still look in the mirror and see a larger person than actually I (probably) am

ClonedSquare · 21/07/2024 10:45

Well done @colleysmill and @Blackcat50 !

I bought a T-shirt the other day without trying it on. It was surprisingly tight when I tried it but not insanely so. I debated keeping it as an incentive top. When I took it off and saw the label, it was a 14! I'm usually between a 20 and a 22.

It was meant to be a relaxed fit top so I'm not under any illusions I'm actually close to a 14 yet, but it was a pleasant surprise to think that it isn't completely implausible to get there one day! I wouldn't have expected I could physically get into a 14, I'm sure I couldn't have before Mounjaro! 😂

Snipples · 21/07/2024 14:55

Checking in. Missed a few posts this week as we've been in lovely Tenerife. Got back late last night. Weighed in this morning and lost 2lbs while we were away bringing me to 18lbs down.

SW 13.10
CW 12.6
GW 12

I'm within touching distance of my goal now and considering adjusting it to 11.7

My bmi says 11stone is the right weight for me to be at the top of the healthy range but I've not been that skinny since I was about 18 so it feels like too much of a loss to maintain.

Are you guys setting goals for healthy weight or just into over?

Silvesterthecat · 21/07/2024 15:54

I’m down 1 and 1/2 stone and I was aiming to loose 2 stone in total. I’ve just started my 7.5mg pen so I was planning on a 10mg pen too (as I have a discount on tap as someone has used my code!) so I think in another 7 weeks time I’ll have smashed my goal weight and will be able to taper off the last pen. But I’m also thinking it will be lovely to loose a little bit extra!
Ive noticed my muffin top and love handles are really going so I’d love a flat ish stomache!!!

colleysmill · 21/07/2024 21:33

My internal goal was 10st 13 because I'd never thought I'd ever get there tbh

Now I'm thinking maybe I can make 10st which takes me into "normal" for the first time ever

Upinthenightagain · 21/07/2024 21:52

Anyone else getting a plateau? I’ve lost 24lbs so far but not had any loss in the past two weeks. Despite eating between 800 and 1200 calories a day and tracking everything

ClonedSquare · 22/07/2024 02:22

Took my first dose from my 7.5mg one and it has hit me hard! Not awful but I'm currently awake because my stomach is uncomfortably full from drinking a glass of water and I'm very constipated. Haven't had these effects since I started back on 2.5mg.

Very strange, as I took 7.5mg the past two weeks (using my 5mg pen, so taking 1.5 doses a week). Weird that the "genuine" 7.5mg is hitting me in a way my mocked up version didn't!

Snozzlemaid · 22/07/2024 04:02

Yes me too. At exactly the same loss too!
Lost 24lb mostly at a regular 3lb a week.
This week, nothing so far. My calorie intake is similar to yours too.
I'm trying to stay positive and know the losses will come again.
I keep telling myself to stick with it, as time is still going to pass and if I don't keep on I'll be heavier in the future instead of this weight or hopefully lighter.

ClonedSquare · 22/07/2024 08:53

Officially lost 2.5lbs this week which I'm really happy with, although it was 3.5lbs yesterday! Just need a pound a week now to meet my mini goal at the end of September 😄

I haven't had any plateaus yet, but my weight loss definitely did slow down to 1lbs a week (compared to 3-4lbs) around the same point you're talking about. This week has been a bit of a whoosh, which I think seems to be normal on Mounjaro from reading other people's experiences.

chrispenrallt1 · 24/07/2024 07:56

Hello everyone. I was just looking at my early posts on this thread. I was so scared to do the injection, I really was . Now it’s just one of those things I do on a Thursday morning. I will be taking my bonus dose tomorrow from my first 5mg pen. I’m staying on the 5mg as I have had good results from it and I’m happy to say that from a start weight of 13 stone 10 lb this morning I weigh 11 stone 9 lb.
Some days it’s a struggle to eat all my calories. I have ordered a 7.5 mg pen which will be going in the fridge on arrival, but for now I’ll be staying on the 5mg. I have used Bolt and found them very good.

Whereisthewine · 25/07/2024 08:00

Hey everyone been lurking for forever but taking the plunge next week once American relatives have gone home lol! Best places to order from please?

Greentrilby · 25/07/2024 09:44

@chrispenrallt1 im the same as you, am sticking on as low a dose as possible whilst having good suppression and consistent weight loss.

ive hit my two stone weight loss today so am very happy:
SW 14.4
CW 12.3

@Snipples im not sure about a target weight, I think I’ll try and get my BMI into the normal slot which for me means around 11.1. I want to be able to maintain as that’s always the hardest bit but in the mean time am just happy bumbling along on my downward journey.

@Whereisthewine id read the Continuing Mounjaro threads for info. The pinned posts at the top are really helpful for comparisons etc.

mostlyhalfbaked · 25/07/2024 10:15

Upinthenightagain and snozzlemaid I've plateaued too. Although I think in part it's because my eating has been all over the place in the past few weeks. I'd been looking after my Mum, who has now passed away. So appetite suppression of the jab, plus stress/ grief has made my eating really disordered.

I've been stuck at 105kg for 2-3 weeks, I've lost 10kg since the end of May, which is good.
I've just ordered my next pen from Zava and stuck to 5mg, mainly because I reduced my last pen to 3.5-4mg as the first dose of 5 mg made me feel awful. Now I'm worried that the order won't turn up tomorrow and I'll struggle over the weekend.

I'm hoping I can get back on track eating wise. I'm even considering buying in non UPF ready meals, as I'm struggling to get the motivation to cook for myself.
At least it would be something healthy and I'm more likely to be eating properly.

Currently I either don't feel like eating- so I don't of have cereal/toast etc which isn't helping form good habits. I know I need to be kind to myself, I partly feel I'm letting my Mum down as she was so pleased I'd finally found something which actually worked.

Has anyone tried any of the healthy ready meals?

ClonedSquare · 25/07/2024 10:44

@Greentrilby Congrats on two stone!

@mostlyhalfbaked I'm so sorry for your loss. Please do be gentle with yourself, I don't think I could focus on weight loss in your situation so you're definitely not failing or letting anyone down! I don't really know anything about healthy ready meals, I hope you find some!
