@colleysmill I've had the odd week with no loss, it's frustrating but I have always moved past it. I find there's not always logic on whether I lose or not based on my eating over a week!

@Greentrilby I'm doing well, thanks for asking! The 7.5mg is now having the same effect the 5mg did in my first month on it. No negative side effects, but fuller for longer and less prone to cravings 🙂

I only lost 1lb over the whole of last week and the scales didn't shift until the last minute, but now they're back on track showing a small loss each day.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 10/07/2024 12:30

Thank you @Greentrilby. How was 4mg ? I’ve done 3.5mg for a few weeks but fearful of doing 5mg as have a hectic work week ahead so going to do 4mg and see how that goes. Im getting hungrier so need to move up a little I think. It’s such an individual thing working out what works for us all.
Bolt get good reviews. Was thinking of trying e-surgery - does anyone know what they are like? Seem cheaper and this is an expensive journey.

ChangeEmailAddress · 10/07/2024 16:20

What is this magic wizardry? Just called at Sainsbury's for a very late lunch, got sandwich and drink and didn't get £1 off by choosing chocolate or crisps when the cashier asked. It's fucking brilliant!!

4mg suited me and I lost 2lbs a week which suits me just fine. I’m sticking with a 5mg pen this month but going up to the full 5mg dose. Bolt approved my order and it’s on its way to me.

Finding it hard to meal plan for the week when I just don't really fancy anything. Also wondering if I should start dishing up smaller portions so my son doesn't see me leave loads on my plate!

It's giving me flashbacks to being pregnant and fed up every time I had to face a meal 😂

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 10/07/2024 19:59

Thanks @Greentrilby
I hope you get on well on 5mg. If you have been ok and losing well on 5mg the jump is very subtle I would think so hope side effects ok. I have done the flab jab tonight and tried 4mg. See how it goes for a few weeks. Good luck 🤞

Smaller portions might be the way to go. It’s so hard when you just don’t fancy eating anything. There’s only me and DH at home permanently now and we are both on Mounjaro so it’s easier and we are experimenting with smaller but more frequent meals. Eg a quick snack after work then a small dinner later. Eating with others is much more difficult though.

Greentrilby · 11/07/2024 08:30

Weigh in day for me and a 3lbs loss, giving a cumulative loss of 25lbs over nine weeks which I’m happy with.
SW 14st 4lbs
CW 12st 7lbs
would really like to break the two stone barrier by the end of the month.

Snipples · 11/07/2024 09:28

Morning!

Well done @Greentrilby that's amazing progress. Some fabulous losses - well done everyone.

I am 16lbs down since 16 May (exactly 8 weeks ago today). Going on hols on sat so I'm super pleased to have gotten this far.

SW: 13.10
CW: 12.8
GW: 12.0

My BMI is 28.4 and started at 31.5 so that's a really good shift. My GW is still going to be in the overweight category so I'll see how I feel when I get there but think anything less than about 11.12 will be unsustainable for me and too much.

Upinthenightagain · 11/07/2024 09:32

Anyone struggling with injection site bruising? I bruise every time I do it in my thigh ( can’t do stomach) and they’re taking weeks to fade so I’m just collecting a new bruise every week . Going on holiday in a few weeks and my legs look terrible

ClonedSquare · 11/07/2024 12:16

Congrats @Snipples and @Greentrilby great losses! I'm also a few pounds from the 2stone total mark so hoping to hit that in the next week or two 🤞🏻

@Greentrilby it's really tricky! Sometimes I think I've nailed my portion size and still can't manage it. Or I'm still finding that having a drink too close to a meal really messes me up. So bizarre, when I think how much I could shovel down before and just feel a bit full rather than now where I feel full to sickness on very little!

@Upinthenightagain I've had some bruising occasionally on my stomach. Usually it happens if I try and gently push the needle into my skin, rather than stabbing it. I had blood thinner jabs after my c section and found the same thing- trying to be gentle made everything worse!

Blackcat50 · 12/07/2024 21:22

Weigh in for me today

Starting weight 14 13lb
Wk 1: lost 5lb (14 8lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 2: lost 4lb (14 4lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 3: lost 3lb (14 1lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 4: lost 1.5lb (13 13.5lb) - 2.5mg
Wk 5: lost 3lb (13 10.5lb) - 5mg
Wk 6: this week have lost 2lb (13 8.5lb) - 3.8mg
GW: 11 11 takes me to 30 BMI

So last week I did about 3.8mg given I was unwell with 5mg the week before. Lots of food noise this week so have gone back to 5mg today and hoping for the best. Although just realised it’s my hormonal week and I had this with 4wks ago so it might not have been the lack of MJ that is giving me the munchies.

Seeing all the loses on this group is great - gives me lots of confidence that continued losses are on the way. I have 6wks left before I go on holiday. I would have loved to be 12 11 (1 stone away from the goal), it’s 11.5lb away so 2lb a week would do it. Here’s to hoping!!!!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 13/07/2024 05:39

@Blackcat50 well done on your fab losses. Really consistent so looks good for you reaching your holiday goal. Glad you feeling a bit better.
I did a 4mg dose this week after a few weeks on 3.5mg. Trying to go up slowly too as had a terrible bout of constipation about week 4.
Want to stay as low as I can without food noise. I have started having a few cravings but hopefully they just hormonal like you. You are doing so well.

Yes - tend to last 7-10days. Thankfully have been doing the stomach though. Hadn’t even thought about that though if I did thigh so thanks for that

ChangeEmailAddress · 13/07/2024 16:04

Could you try injecting more slowly? Both the needle going in and liquid going in?

ClonedSquare · 15/07/2024 09:11

Weigh in day today and I'm down 1.5lbs. Better than nothing, but disappointing when I've really felt like this was a good week in terms of my food choices. It does highlight to me how important the MJ is though, as I'd never be keeping my calories this low without it so wouldn't be losing at all.

I think mentally this stage is hard, since I'm still comparing myself to of the highs of 4lbs+ losses in the earlier weeks. So now 1-2lbs feels disappointing even though I know it's a perfectly healthy rate (and healthier than 4lbs every week!).

Total loss so far is 25.5lbs, so an average of about 2.5lbs a week which is still good 🙂

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 15/07/2024 09:40

well done @ClonedSquare great losses. My losses have slowed a bit but it’s what’s expected and your losses are good and consistent.
Weighed in yesterday and I’m 35 lbs down after 10 weeks so am really happy on MJ. I doubt this will keep up but happy to keep chipping away. Just makes it pretty easy not to overeat.

Hakunatomato · 15/07/2024 12:13

I have been on Mounjaro for around 12 weeks and in that time I have been eating extremely healthily. My taste sensitivity has really changed. For the first time in months, yesterday I had a kfc meal. After ordering, all I ate was half a chicken burger, half a portion of small chips a piece of chicken and a corn cob. It tasted so greasy and salty. I had a very uncomfortable night, my body did not like this fatty salty food! I now feel very bunged up, and will not be having it again! I swear it is still in my stomach, as I am burping every 5 minutes.

ClonedSquare · 15/07/2024 13:23

Thanks @CrystaltipsnoAlistair ! Someone on another thread pointed out that 1.5lbs a week is still 80lbs in a year so slow and steady is still great. Congrats on your loss 😄

@Hakunatomato ugh, KFC was always one of my weaknesses but you’re right that it’s just not worth it anymore. I don’t get the gastric symptoms when I eat badly but I just don’t have the same interest/enjoyment from it.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 15/07/2024 16:33

Yes @ClonedSquare I would be happy with 80lb loss a year. The main thing for me is keeping the weight off. I have been the ultimate diet yo yo so am hoping I can use MJ to stabilise my weight at quite a few stone less than I am now. I’m hoping to stick with a pharmacy which will help me maintain for a while although that’s a long way off. MJ has given me hope which I haven’t had in a long time to get and stay at a healthy weight.

@Hakunatomato I totally get the fast food thing. Even looking at a Big Mac actually makes me nauseous and they were my go to burger 🍔. It is so novel to me.

ClonedSquare · 16/07/2024 09:22

Mixed NSV- my wedding ring is now loose enough that it rubbed and gave me a blister. Which then made my finger swell up and look fatter than ever 😂

Time for new jewellery? BTW I think an average weight loss of 2.5lbs a week is great.

ClonedSquare · 17/07/2024 08:09

@Greentrilby Very tempting! My total weight loss goal is 100lbs+ so I definitely think a new ring might be on the cards then! And thank you, I really needed to give my head a wobble and realise that even 1lb a week long term would be more than I managed alone!

This is a mid-week weigh in so I don't normally mention or record them, but this morning I'm at 2 stone loss total 😄 Now just need 10lbs more in the next 10 weeks to hit my mini-goal for my holiday. Feels very doable!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 17/07/2024 08:51

Well done @ClonedSquare . 2 stone off is fabulous and am sure you feeling the benefits.
Im down 37lbs after 10 weeks so this stuff really does the trick. I’ve hardly been hungry and actually forgot my breakfast yesterday and I am never one to forget eating. My inner voice has changed and not shouting out to head to the fridge these days.

Greentrilby · 17/07/2024 08:56

TWO STONE 🎉 huge congratulations! Well done you. I’m so pleased for you and hope to join you in this milestone in a couple of weeks and am definitely going to treat myself to something special as a reward. I know the weight loss itself is a reward but have my eye on a Lulu Guinness handbag in the sale 😃
