I took my third dose yesterday and have lost over a stone in the first two weeks. Bit too much too fast really, but my BMI starts with a 5 so massively overweight. Need to decide what to do next - another 4 weeks on 2.5 or move up to 5? What would you/are you doing?

I've gone up to 5mg, as I think it makes sense to at least try to follow the proscribed scheme. If I find it awful, I'll drop back down to 2.5 I think. I lost 9lbs in the first two weeks, but losses are always higher at the start of any diet so I don't think it will necessarily continue that way on the lowest dose.

ClonedSquare · 25/05/2024 22:59

Just bought some new scales, as my old ones were driving me mad by not deciding to settle on a weight unless I literally stood as still as a statue. Tested them side by side to see any difference and the new scales weigh me as 2lbs heavier than the old ones! 😢

I'm switching my jabs to Sunday evening from this week, so I'll start using my new scales' reading on Monday morning but I'm miffed about it 😂

Greentrilby · 26/05/2024 08:38

Welcome to all our lovely May joiners. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

@ClonedSquare I think you are right about sticking to the suggested schedule, especially if you haven’t had any major side effects. I think I’ll order 5mg for my second order. How annoying about the scales: I find mine weigh differently if I move them about in the bathroom, even though it’s a flat, tiled floor. I’ve discovered I weigh my lightest if I put them just in front of the loo. Moving them to the door, adds 2lbs so it’s certainly not an exact science.

ClonedSquare · 26/05/2024 09:02

@Greentrilby That's so frustrating! I've been tempted to take mine downstairs so at least I know the floors are completely even (tiles on concrete base). Not sure I want to strip off to weigh myself in the kitchen though 😂

Greentrilby · 26/05/2024 09:08

When I was little I remember my mum going to Timothy Whites in town to get weighed. Apparently it was common back then when most people didn’t own scales.

Sassenach85 · 26/05/2024 11:51

First week weigh in, 6 pounds off! Can’t believe it.

had my second round of 2.5 last night and tried in the thigh, hardly felt a thing and no muscle pain this morning.

I’m scared the spell will break or something and it will stop working 😂

I'm really not sure what I'm going to do next. I'm dreading even taking dose 4 as I feel so rubbish the first 4 days each time. It definitely works as eating only quarter portions and no snacking at all but lots of that is choice because I don't want worse side effects from over eating. Not sure I would have the willpower to make choices without the fear though! 😂 I'd love to be sure that I'm going to acclimatise to the side effects.

It's really good to hear how well everyone else is doing on this journey ☺️

Jibberoo · 26/05/2024 12:02

Well done to everyone for sticking with it. I'm a few days in on second jab and definitely feel less full but willpower is helping. I'm on a holiday this week so will be interesting to see if I stick to small portions. At least there is a gym here and I can go every day!

Well done!!!! And after you saying you'd put weight on!!! Brilliant!

Sassenach85 · 26/05/2024 13:20

thank you!
I don’t know if it was water weight or just my body adjusting or something.

I’m scared to get my hopes up that it might actually continue and this might be the answer for me, finally!

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Snipples · 26/05/2024 19:02

So encouraging reading all these losses. Well done everyone. I've had some dodgy gastric side effects in the last few days after my 2nd jab. Makes me a bit nervous of progressing on to 0.5mg but I'm going to trust the process and if I find it too much, drop back a dose.

I've told my mum and auntie now and they're watching with interest.

LilyTheSavage · 26/05/2024 19:57

Well done everybody. Some really good losses.
I'm biting the bullet tomorrow and weighing myself for the first time. Also going up a dose to 0.5mg with my second pen. Bit nervous about both those things, but overall am enjoying feeling much more in control and eating less. I'm also learning that I won't spontaneously combust if I feel hungry.
Some friends came to coffee today and I'd made cake but didn't touch it. Felt V smug.
Have a good week everybody.

LilyTheSavage · 27/05/2024 08:31

Bullet bitten. I am 92.2kg. Writing it down feels horrific and I know I've got a long way to go, but I wish I'd had the courage to weigh myself at the beginning and know how much I've lost now. Fifth injection done.

Here we go!

ClonedSquare · 27/05/2024 09:55

Just did my weigh-in and I've lost 3.5lbs since Thursday (shorter time frame as I'm switching my jab and weigh in day). Very pleased with this, and means I've lost 12.5lbs in 2 and a half weeks!

Did injection 4 last night and going up to 5mg next week. I'm also very nervous about this, as I've had zero side effects on 2.5mg. If I find 5 unbearable I'll definitely drop back down at least temporarily.

This is so life changing for me. I don't think I've ever had a diet where three weeks in, I wasn't absolutely miserable and feeling like I was being tortured (often with very little to show for it as well). On Mounjaro, I actually feel positive and like I can keep going.

Anonymous37 · 27/05/2024 10:00

Amazing repprts from everyone, its so encouraging to see how you all are getting on.
I'm a few days into injection number 3 (2.5mg). Still feeling fuller quicker but, admittedly, the food noise has been trying to creep back. I'm handling it a lot better now than before; I think the motivation is boosting the will power at this point.

Anyone experiencing the same?

And also, after over 2 glorious weeks of no side effects... the constipation has now hit 😩

Anyone having the same problem? Any advice on what might help??

ClonedSquare · 27/05/2024 10:35

@Anonymous37 I found the only thing that helps constipation is drinking SO much more than I did before. I'd say I'm getting through 3L a day of squash plus another litre or so of other drinks. Even then I'm still only going every other day or so. Before I started this, I was maybe drinking a litre and a half of any kind of drinks, so it's been a major step up!

In week one or two I felt I needed some help so I took two dulcolax which had the intended effect x100.

Sassenach85 · 27/05/2024 10:36

Hi everyone

I bought my 2.5 pen from Asda and im
now looking to order my 5.0 pen.

does anyone know if I need to go through the whole process again with photos etc?

Rulay · 27/05/2024 11:10

@Sassenach85 I don't think so. I found an old promo code that should still work on the Asda website AOD24GIFT I'll be using it when I order 5mg if it still works!

Sassenach85 · 27/05/2024 11:21

Thank you! When I go into my Asda account it just takes me to the questionnaire page again.

hopefully it won’t need pics etc again

dandeliondaisy · 27/05/2024 11:27

Hi, please can someone explain how expensive it is? I am maybe being a bit silly but I can't understand how much it will cost if I sign up 🙈

Upinthenightagain · 27/05/2024 11:33

No Asda don’t make you send pics again. It was really simple doing the reorder and I got my 5mg next day after approval.

dandeliondaisy · 27/05/2024 11:35

Also, Mounjaro v semiglutide injections - please can someone help me with the difference? Please point me over to another thread if I'm in the wrong place.

That’s great thanks! Did you just click the re order button and resubmit your height/new weight?

I went with Mounjaro as it has slightly less side effects.

Asda is £180 but if you wanted to shop around there are lots of discounts etc

dandeliondaisy · 27/05/2024 11:39

@Sassenach85 is that £185 per month? And does that include one injection per week? Thank you
