Starting Mounjaro May 2024!

I’ve just been approved for 2.5mg, I went with Voy.
hoping to start by the end of the week!

Anyone else starting this month? ❤️

I used to be on Wegovy (and lost 2stone in two months) but had three weeks off and started Mounjaro today BUT just noticed the expiry date is 05/24, Med Express prescribed it to me this month?! Is that a bit dodgy?

@Rulay and @chrispenrallt1 congrats on taking your first dose, it’s a scary one but you’ll feel it soon. Also a boredom snacker and ex plate licker 😂it just goes..

@MsClittirati your journey to the wedding will be so much less stress with this I’m sure - I got married last year and shed only half a stone after months in the gym and eating like a rabbit, I was miserable! I only wish I had this option then! Hopefully it’s one thing to worry about 👰🏼‍♀️

I think there was a letter in mine saying it was ok expiry wise.

Honestly the self control this medication gives me is amazing. Office at work was full of cakes and biscuits today and normally I'd be straight in there. Had one chocolate finger and I thought blimey that's very sweet and went on to ignore everything else.

Also re needles, I think I’m too scared to extract it, so going to attempt the hard twist when I get to it for week 5, but have the 5mg ready just in case. Only on week 3 but thinking ahead 😂

@Habbyhadno mine also said 5/24 but there was a letter explaining they had an extended expiry - if that wasn’t included then you’re right to challenge if you don’t have a month.

Thanks guys, that's put my mind at rest a bit. I didn't have a letter, but I've emailed Med Express, so I'll see what they say.

Had my first injection this evening. Much easier than I expected it to be, which is great. I won’t be scared of it next week. Not sure what to expect but I’m excited!

Oh I am feeling quite nauseous now, think I'll go to bed and hopefully sleep it off

I haven’t felt anything in the way of nausea but I did find it difficult to go to sleep . Woke up at 3 am made a coffee and did not have a biscuit . Have just declined a slice of toast brought by husband with my coffee .

I've just taken my last 2.5mg dose. That came around quickly!

I'm on day 9 now, and had my second injection yesterday and I'm down 5lbs so I am really pleased with wegovy. I haven't had much in the way of side effects other than heartburn but it seems the majority kick in when you move up to next dose. This stuff is magic!

People have lost in their first week. I have just weighed in and just under 4lb in my first week.
My husband has just weighed in and lost 9 fucking pounds!

I am due to take my second dose today and beginning to feel hungry. It has definitely wore off as the week has gone on.

Not sure if it’s placebo at this stage but I’ve woken up feeling a little nauseous and the thought of going near food right now is repulsive. I have been a bit under the weather this week so that may have something to do with it. Either way, it’s interesting to note. Any food adverts that are popping up on YouTube are grossing me out. I’ll see how it goes today!

I went to m and s today for breakfast with husband. I could not eat all of my crunchy yogurt bowl, unheard of! Also back home now and not hungry so will eat dinner tonight which will be smoked haddock and a big salad . No fish and chips for me tonight but that’s the way forward troops !

24 hours since my last dose and something is definitely happening. All I've had today is half a slice of toast for breakfast and yoghurt and some fruit for lunch. Still thinking of food but it makes me feel quite sick after I eat it.

I'm also exhausted for some reason. All my get up and go has got up and went, thankfully I've been on annual leave today...I've spent the whole day lying on the sofa!

Day 3 after jab 3 and I'm definitely feeling the effects more than in other weeks. Still no bad side effects enough to bother me, but I'm definitely feeling fuller much quicker. I had half a tin of soup and a few slices of gammon for lunch and now I'm lying on the sofa feeling like I massive overate!

I have had a bit of yogurt and fruit and a coffee. I feel tired as couldn’t sleep last night but I can’t say I feel sick at all

Hello! Happy to find this thread. I started Mounjaro at the beginning of May, fourth injection on Monday. So far it's been pretty good, no real side effects and have managed to lose 12 pounds. My diet prior, was probably not that bad, as nothing much has changed, I'm just drinking much more water. Hoping to get back to proper exercise soon, as I've had an achilles tendon problem, so think that should help further.
I suppose I'm a bit anxious about increasing the dose, as so far I've done pretty well, without any problems, this makes me wonder if maybe i should just stay on the 2.5 mg dose? Any thoughts?

can I ask you about the extra dose as I’m confused! I thought in order to get the 5th dose out of the pen you had to do the hard twist, plus have a needle. Have you bought any needles yet? And are you definitely going straight on to 5mg or going to wait and see? I don’t know what to order next.

Can I join? I've just filled in the consultation so hopefully I'll be starting in the next few days. I'm nervous about the side effects but very hopeful that it will work for me.

@chrispenrallt1 we are having opposite experiences! I'm still thinking about food but no desire to eat it as I'm as feeling as sick as a dog 😅 I'm about to attempt a my protein ready meal from Iceland and if someone had told me a few days ago that a few short hours after a little injection I'd have trouble eating it i would have laughed in their face.

hope you feel less nauseous tomorrow . I had dinner tonight but did not eat it all no biscuits with coffee tonight either . No grog either which is unheard of in this house on a Friday night . Feeling quietly optimistic .

Day one was a bit nothingy for me. Not much to report at all, no side effects and still have food noise whereas I had none at all on the min dose of Wegovy. Hoping something kicks in over the weekend otherwise I'll still be eating as normal at this rate.

Hi everyone - can I join?

I’ve been approved today but don’t expect to get my delivery until Tuesday because of the long weekend.

I’m nervous but also optimistic that this may be what I need to help me reset bad habits and return to a healthy weight.

End of day one for me and I’ve eaten very little. It’s such a strange feeling to have no interest in food. I have loose stools and I’m feeling a little nauseous again but other than that I generally feel okay.

I took my third dose yesterday and have lost over a stone in the first two weeks. Bit too much too fast really, but my BMI starts with a 5 so massively overweight. Need to decide what to do next - another 4 weeks on 2.5 or move up to 5? What would you/are you doing?
