Only 9 days - I had my second injection of 0.25 on Friday. The results have been excellent so far : I lost 3kg in the first week, have had minimal side effects, just mild nausea on the first day after the injection, and both my appetite and 'food noise' reduced dramatically within about an hour of the first injection. I couldn't quite believe it.
I did a lot of research on how people get on with it before I started, as I imagine most people on here do, and it came across very strongly that to avoid the unpleasant gastro-intestinal side effects, you have to 1) start with a very low dose and increase dosage gradually 2) drink LOADS of water 3) eat mainly fruit and vegetables and plenty of lean protein. This hasn't been too much of a stretch, as it was what I was trying to do, but frequently failing at, before I started on the Wegovy. One thing I've really noticed is how much sweeter fruit tastes since I've stopped eating anything with sugar in. Raspberries and blueberries, always good, are sensational!
Like many others on here, I have been both startled and delighted by how Wegovy has just stopped me thinking about food all the time, and enabled me to regard high fat, salty/sugary foods with complete indifference. In as much as I want to eat at the moment, which isn't very much, I want to eat healthily. It's miraculous, and seems too good to be true. Fingers crossed, but am much encouraged by all the accounts I have read here and elsewhere of people who have steadily lost a great deal of weight using Wegovy.
My starting weight was 93.3 kg - the shame of writing it in stones and pounds is more than I can face! I wasn't even intending to write my starting weight down on here, but since you've asked me it seems churlish not to. And other people do, so I should join in. I think my denial is still at the level where I can't actually believe that I allowed myself to put on so much weight. Writing it down in public makes it all too real.
My weight as of this morning, 9 days in, is 89.8 kg. I know I shouldn't be weighing myself every day, and that a lot of this will be water weight, but it's strangely compelling to weigh myself every morning and write it down, and then watch the column of figures go down the page, reducing a little every day. Most days the loss has been about 0.4 kg.
I'm continuing to be very active, walking at least a couple of miles a day, and doing resistance training at the gym 3 or 4 times a week, which i've been doing for several years and has made me very strong but not really helped with my propensity to overeat. The Wegovy has not affected either my desire or ability to exercise.
My target weight? I'm not sure I want to make a hostage to fortune by putting a number on it, but if I could lose 20 kilos I would be a very happy woman.
