Starting this thread for all the newbies who are just starting out.

I'm going to be taking mounjaro.
Expecting my first pen hopefully tomorrow.

Anyone else just starting out?

Just had to post because I’m so chuffed. Weigh in day today and my stats are as follows:

SW: 14st 10lbs - I started Wegovy at the beginning of April
GW: 12st 7lbs
CW: 13st 2lbs!!!!

So unbelievably chuffed. I’ve been feeling a bit wrung out with everything lately, felt like I was slipping despite still tracking my food and even going on the peloton a couple of times. Just got in a funk, I think. But this weigh in has reassured me that I’m still on the right path!

This is my second month on 1mg - I can’t afford to move up to 1.7 tbh. I have another pen after this one and then I’m coming off. Basically got myself enough to give me the willpower to make it through the summer holidays 😂

I’m very nervous about post-Wegovy life and cravings etc coming back but I’m so used to tracking now and I’m way more aware of the calories in things and serving sizes than previously. Fully expect to gain a little when I stop though, but if I reach my goal weight then that’ll give me some wiggle room to fluctuate.

Hope the rest of you are getting on okay ❤️

Here's a code for Zava if anyone needs it! It gives us both 15% off. Much appreciated for a gal on maternity leave lol.

Thank you for your email.

It is safe to stop Mounjaro at any time once you have reached your target weight. There is no need to "wean" yourself off the medication.

We will stop prescribing Mounjaro once you reach a BMI of between 23-25.

I have filled in a form today, got on the scales, taken the dreaded photo and am waiting to see if I’m accepted.

After having a terrible 6 months I've shot up to over 12 stone. I'm going to start on Monjaro but wheres the best place to buy? It looks like Zava is the best price wise?

It depends on your priority. I went with Asda as I find their pricing is consistent and doesn’t jump up. I’m very happy with the service and swapping about would just give me anxiety which to me isn’t worth the £30 saving.

lots of competitive prices around but I felt safe with Asda being a large company and their aftercare is great.

Price is priority at the moment. I had a look at Asda but can't really afford them at the moment.

Totally understand! I have a 10% off code if you want it.

I found other providers started off cheap and jumped up really high for the bigger doses.

Another question if I may.
How long do side effects take, if any? Should I start it on a Friday night so I've got the weekend to get used to them? And I have my driving test coming up so best not to start until after that just in case I get the bad tum ?🙈

I think everyone is different. But for your first dose I would be more cautious. I think I did what you’re suggesting, a Friday night. Meant I had the weekend to recover if needed and I might sleep off any instant effects if I did it at night.

I still do it at night but that’s just habit.

TheSproutOfWrath · 10/07/2024 12:46

Thank you!
I'll start after my driving test then, luckily it's on a Friday.

Hi everyone! Have been lurking here for a while, have finally bitten the bullet and ordered my first pen - it's being delivered tomorrow! I have about 20kg to lose. Am excited but also slightly terrified!

Is there a best time of day to take it? I see night time being recommended by previous PPs. Is there a best day of the week? Am assuming the effects wear off as the week goes on? All advice welcome!xx

Beyondbeliefsometimes · 15/07/2024 23:48

Hi everyone, I haven't checked in in a while as I've been so busy with life, big birthdays and weddings. I haven't lost anything this past 2 weeks which I think may be due to the mentioned celebrations above. I've also just moved up to 7.5mg which I struggled with the first week. I just felt absolutely on it. I down dosed to about 6mg last week but went back up to 7.5mg this week again.

Overall I'm 22lb down, so I am happy with that but would like to keep continuing. I was with voy originally, moved to med express and then back to voy. If anyone is starting to use voy I would be grateful if you could use my link as it helps discount do us both. And who couldn't do with a little bit of savings!

Did anyone else atuggle with 7.5mg and the not even lose weight 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm hoping that with focus again this week, I will be back on track

I take it (Wegovy) on a Sunday morning but, tbf, I’ve been quite fortunate and don’t have any severe side effects. I imagine if you suffer from sickness etc then maybe a time of the week that’s less busy would be best. ALSO I have found that come Friday/Saturday I defo get some of the “noise” back so saying no to takeaways etc is harder, so I guess that it does maybe start to wear off as you approach your next dose. Best of luck with starting! It really does work if you see it as a helping hand to get the weight shifting - that’s my experience anyway!

Little update from me while I’m here (and inwardly rejoicing!):
SW 14st 10lb
GW 12st 7lb
CW 12st 13lb!!!

I am ecstatic! I haven’t weighed this much since before my kids were born! Maybe even since I got engaged! I can only talk in exclamation marks now!!! 😂

Question for those who have lost weight: How do you handle the comments on your weight loss? I’m getting a lot and almost feel bad not admitting I’ve had the help of the jabs. I’m really trying to play it down. Also I haaaaate when people comment about it in front of my kids. 😖

penfold81 · 18/07/2024 13:16

Another code if it’s helpful to anyone (and it gives me 15% off my next pen too 😊)

my pen worked out around £122 using one of these codes think that’s the cheapest I found.

There’s no better gift than the gift of good health. So, we’re making it even easier to share it. Refer someone to ZAVA with your personal code, and we’ll give them 15% offtheir first order.

I had my a baby in March and due to a traumatic birth and forceps / episiotomy I suffered from pelvic floor / nerve damage, grade 2 prolapse of the bladder and anterior vagina wall so can’t exercise until I strengthen my pelvic floor otherwise I risk everything worsening.
Pre pregnancy I was in great shape, I was going to hit classes and running, weight training 3-4 times a week.
I gained 3 stone in pregnancy and couldn’t wait to get back into exercising to lose the baby weight but unfortunately I may not be able to exercise like I used to ever again
Did my first shot tonight and absolutely terrified of the side effects. Especially reading about the serious ones ! Kind of regretting doing the shot
so far feel okay. But nervous and anxious

Looking for reassurance, has anyone had any serious side effects in the UK?

Has anyone done it so soon after childbirth??

GW 10st 7lbs
