@Justkeeprollingalong o have just ordered my 7.5mg pen. How are you finding it so far? Are you planning to go all the way to 15?

@schoolie258
I just had the first 7.5 today so too soon for any ill effects I think. I've been fine with the other 2 doses. I've had a bit of vertigo over the last few days but I don't know if it's related.

I had 2 stone to lose - I was classified as obese as I'm short.
I've lost 1st 4 so technically I only have 8lb to lose although I'd like to lost a further 3.
I hope I won't need to go higher than my current dose or maybe the 10 ml.
I'm more concerned with how to stop when I need to. I'd be surprised if it's just cold turkey!
How are you getting on?

wiggleweggle · 19/06/2024 17:15

So I have my fist Wegovy pen. I have 35 kilos to lose.

Am so nervous!!!

Humptydumpty85 · 19/06/2024 18:33

I'll be taking my first 7.5 tonight. I've lost 25lbs over the 8 weeks so far - really happy with how it's worked! Aiming to lose between another 7-14lbs, will see how i look and feel as i go. Definitely some concerns about how I'll come off it and whether I'll be able to sustain the loss though.

Justkeeprollingalong · 19/06/2024 21:44

Hi @Humptydumpty85 we seem to be on a similar route. I've been trying to find out the protocol for coming off without success.

No, there doesn't seem to be any guidance really. I'm thinking of lowering my dose and then maybe extending time between doses once I get to 2.5 with the aim of stopping altogether. I'm not sure if there's any bennegit to this though, or if I'll just be wasting money!

SwiftPeak · 20/06/2024 17:51

I started on mounjaro 2.5mg on Sunday, and have lost 6lb! I'm so chuffed. Will weigh myself again on Sunday to confirm. I've not felt hungry once, and completely forget about food - the chatter has gone! I'm really hoping that this can help me into a new healthier habit

Little update from my side. I’m 8 weeks on Ozempic now, and 15lb gone. It was 16lb, but somehow I put on a 1lb last week. Actually I know how it happened. I’ve been titrating more slowly up through the doses to avoid getting sick. However, that meant I wasn’t getting much appetite suppression and was eating the wrong foods or too much of the right ones. Which led to me eating too many calories and getting sick from the high fat foods anyway.

So, I’m up to 0.5mg now and I’m going back to basics. Lots of water, taking my electrolytes, taking psyllium husk and tracking my protein and fibre. I’ve also bought some travel sickness patches to see if that helps with the nausea. I’m down the pound I put up and am hoping for a good weight loss next week.

Hi - do online shops like Asda contact your GP first, or prescribe on the information you give them?

They all contact your go to record that you're taking a new medication, they have to.

Hi guys 👋🏻 haven’t posted for a while, so thought I’d check in!

SW: 14st 10lb
CW: 13st 6lb
GW: 12st 7lb

I’m 11 weeks in to Wegovy, about to finish my 1mg pen tomorrow. I’ve found the side effects a bit more on 1mg and, crucially, I can’t afford to move up to 1.7 so I’ve got another 1mg to carry on with. Suspect the appetite suppression will wear off a bit next month but figured something was better than nothing. I’m still using LoseIt to log everything I eat and trying to stay around 1500 calories a day but have had a few blowouts of late at family celebrations etc (I just can’t say no to a prosecco top up!).

DH, bless him, says he doesn’t think I need to lose any more as apparently I’m looking great in his eyes. Lovely to hear but do want to lose a bit more, just so I can then maintain a comfortable window of weight post-Wegovy - i.e. be able to allow my weight to fluctuate naturally without feeling rubbish.

Good luck to all the new starters! I highly recommend tracking in an app, it’s been a real eye opener to me to realise how many calories are in things I wouldn’t think twice about (hello olive oil, I’m looking at you 👀).

Upinthenightagain · 22/06/2024 14:26

I’m really struggling today. I caught Covid last week and I can’t work out if it’s still Covid or the medication but I am exhausted, and have a constant headache. I’m struggling to eat anything at all but I want to feel better. Yesterday all I managed a dairy Lea lunchable I’ve lost 17lb in 5.5 weeks as of today which is great but I feel terrible.

If you’re concerned about this - VOY don’t contact your gp, they just advise that you should inform them.

On my 3rd 5mg and still no side effects of note :) the dry mouth seems to have gone!

Just passed through my first stone with a total loss of 15lbs.

Sw 236lbs 7th May
Cw 221lbs 24th June
Gw 154lbs

Eating is chore for me and I'm having to really force myself to think about food.
I've done some batch cooking for the family but I just don't fancy it. Even tasting what I'm cooking feels weird!

I've got my 7.5mg pen already but need to decide whether to just reorder a 5mg again while I'm in this zone.

I've pretty much lost 2lb a week and whilst like everyone who wishes it was more, I'm in this for the long haul now and a final 'this is it' to reset myself and get healthy again.

We're going to Italy in August so while it would have been nice to have ramped up and lost more weight, as it gets closer it seems a bit silly to got up too fast and not enjoy it while I'm there. Two more 5mg pens sees me through to when I get back and then I could go up - just musing really but hopefully makes sense.

As for NSV's.... my size 20 jeans are now feeling loose and as they are worn out at the thighs anyway they are about to become denim shorts which should see me through this 'heatwave!' Then I can buy a couple of new things for holiday.

IceCreamWoes · 24/06/2024 11:29

Well done @InspectorGidget

When is everyone ordering their next pens? I've taken my 2nd 0.5 wegovy today. Think I'll stick with 0.5. No side effects so far, my weightloss is also slow but steady.

SW: 83.5kg
CW: 77kg
GW: 70kg

Has anyone skipped a week?

It's injection day tomorrow as well as Glastonbury day. I'm thinking of skipping a few days and taking my 1ml dose on Monday - i'm guessing it will be rough with it being nearly a week late.
Thanks.

lastapache · 25/06/2024 21:50

How about taking a half dose tomorrow, and the second half next Monday, and then push out you next injection to Thursday?

Carelesswispalover · 26/06/2024 13:14

Are discount codes not working on medexpress for mounjaro anymore, does anyone know of one that works?

ShrinkingDaffodil · 26/06/2024 13:27

@Carelesswispalover I don’t know about medexpress but I have one for VOY if you haven’t used them before?

Anyone had this? I did my 4th injection of Mounjaro this morning in my stomach which is the usual place but it really hurt! As soon as I took the needle out I had a big bump come up and it started bleeding. Bleeding has now stopped and the lump has gone down significantly so I'm not worried just curious and it also really bloody hurt!!

On the plus side I've lost 11lb in my first 3 weeks!

InspectorGidget · 01/07/2024 11:04

Gah. 4th 5mg injection today and I've stayed the same this week.
I did however go to classic Ibiza picnic concert on Saturday and a christening yesterday. Whilst I didn't overdo the food, I was a bit squiffy so I'll accept the scales not moving as I've lost 2/3 lbs over the last few weeks!
I'm on the bonus dose next week then need to decide whether to stick to 5mg or go up.
I'm currently thinking I'll be sticking to 5mg until after the summer holidays and then push through to Christmas (sorry to mention in July!). Decisions decisions!

I've had this before. I now use sanatizer spray to spray all around the site, and I take an antihistimine which seems to stop the reaction. I'm not sure if it was just site irritation from multiple injections. But agree it was painful!

frecklejuice · 01/07/2024 15:02

Thanks @BlueBumblingBee it was so weird as I haven’t found the others painful at all!

I’ll try the spray and a portion next time and hopefully it will be ok.
