Hi everyone

I bought my 2.5 pen from Asda and im
now looking to order my 5.0 pen.

does anyone know if I need to go through the whole process again with photos etc?

Justkeeprollingalong · 27/05/2024 13:00

@Sassenach85 not if you stay with the same supplier.
I changed from Lloyd to Medexpress for a better price so had to give all the info again plus starting date and weight and a photo of the previous box.
Worth it to save £35 though!

GreyFinch · 27/05/2024 06:43

@anonymousmom we have the same start weight! Although I’m a bit further forward than you almost at week 6. Good luck on your journey :)

How are you getting on? Have you managed any weight loss?

IceCreamWoes · 27/05/2024 14:12

Second injection this morning. I'm 7 lbs down

SW: 13st2
CW: 12st 9
GW: 10st 7

GreyFinch · 27/05/2024 15:01

@anonymousmom I take my 2nd 5mg dose on Wednesday and I’ve lost 19.7lbs so far which I’m over the moon with! My first major target is 15st and then I will go from there!

Sassenach85 · 27/05/2024 17:58

Lovely to hear everyone’s great results. I know the feeling of joy when the numbers go down. I’ve only done one week but I feel like I’ve found a way to transform my life!

overwhelmathon · 27/05/2024 18:06

Took my last 0.5 Wegovy yesterday, so officially 8 weeks in aaaaand:

SW 14st 10lb
CW 13st 9lb
GW 12st 7lb

When I saw 13st 9lbs on the scale I honest to god danced a jig around my bathroom! 😆 That was on Saturday though and I have since (yesterday and today) gone a bit berserk. Period is imminent again and defo feel like I’m ready to move up to the 1mg next week.

Anyway, going to be back on the straight and narrow tomorrow. Just got to get through half term with two kids at home and husband away for work again… 🫠 Let’s do this!

I’m about 5 weeks in and weight is coming off slowly but surely. But…on about 3/4 occasions I’ve had awful stomach cramps followed by horrific diarrhoea. Lasted about 30/45 mins then felt fine after it.

There doesn’t seem to be any pattern to when it happens eg after I’ve eaten something particularly fatty/carby/large. Anyone found a way of avoiding this?

QueenOfHiraeth · 27/05/2024 20:39

I'm feeling a bit disheartened as I seem to be losing so much slower than everyone else despite being heavier than most. I wonder if it's because I'm ancient and post-menopausal
I have done 3 weeks on MJ 2.5mg and, despite not eating nearly as much as usual, have only lost about 6lb although the plus is that I have had very few side-effects. Will weigh again tomorrow and hope for more
I think I just need to get myself better organised, meal plan, make sure I drink the water and get more protein and fibre
Is anyone using any particular meal plans? I've run out of inspiration...

I'm similar. I've just done my 3rd injection and have lost 6lbs and I'm perimenopausal - it doesn't feel like much but it's better than I've done in a long time! I think I need to drink more water and eat more protein. I've just applied for a 5mg pen.

QueenOfHiraeth · 27/05/2024 22:38

@ViolaPlains Thank you, that makes me feel a bit better
I already have my 5mg pen as I'm going away this weekend and will need it before I get back

IceCreamWoes · 28/05/2024 12:28

Does anyone get a bruise where you inject?

LiveLoveLifeForever · 28/05/2024 12:42

So I’m seriously considering starting. I’ve done a couple of consultations and been approved but not ordered yet. I’m just looking at the long term and thinking am I going to have to use it for life? Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts and have considered what will happen when you stop taking it?

InspectorGidget · 28/05/2024 15:25

Just done what was meant to be dose 4... there's definitely another full dose though so I'm at week 3.

6lbs down which of course is a loss and the age old '2lbs a week' etc etc but I am feeling disappointed it's not more. I can't wait to go up to 5mg and see if I feel any different.

Still just a dry mouth and the odd bit of heartburn (although that's not new!).

I'm looking out for med express codes for my next order - I'll order the 7.5 and if I find the 5 is working I'll get some needles (I need some anyway as I wasted the first one!!).

Ghilliedu · 28/05/2024 21:38

@InspectorGidget someone posted on the other thread that PHARMSTOCK20 works for 20% off

Justkeeprollingalong · 29/05/2024 08:32

@IceCreamWoes yes, always get a bruise whether I inject in thigh or belly. Not sure why as I don't have to use any force.

Justkeeprollingalong · 29/05/2024 08:36

@InspectorGidget if you've just done your 4th dose you're on week 4. What you can see in the pen will be excess medication (the so called 'bonus' or 5th dose). You are supposed to discard this although some people do try to get it out by twisting the dosage knob with pliers or using insulin needles.

Ssmiler · 29/05/2024 09:13

Just done my week 2 jab 2.5mg

I weighed in today with 3 lb off. I probably would have been happy with that other than the fact that I did a sneaky weigh in on day 3 or 4 and saw that I’d lost 4lb at that point - post menopausal so the fluctuation back up is nothing to do with cycle etc

I stuck religiously to 1280 calories with 100g protein per day apart from one day where I had two red wines and a full bag of sensations chilli peanuts! Maybe that’s where the mid week gain came from!

Very few side effects apart from exceptionally cold for the first two days last week - which I almost enjoyed as I am always too warm!

SW 13st 2lb
CW 12st 13lb
TW 10st 7lb

total loss at week one 3lb

Just a little tip below on the importance of protein especially if you are post menopausal.
I am having a long awaited breast reduction in December. I saw my surgeon the other day - didn’t mention Mounjaro (I know I know) but told her I was on 1280 calories a day to lose weight prior to op.

She was concerned that a very low calorie diet in post menopausal women is much more likely to loss of muscle that will be almost impossible to regain at this age. She asked me to increase to 1400 cal per day with more exercise and was relieved that my protein target is 100g per day as that’s key to protect muscle - she said that’s the absolute minimum it should be. So please do monitor your protein, especially if any of you are oldies like me.

I use a daily protein drink at 20g per drink if I’m not hitting protein target - the clear whey peach tea one which is like a lovely refreshing juice drink. Also I have a lindhals lemon cheesecake yoghurt each day which adds another 18g. Then lots of lean chicken etc with lunch and dinner - eggs also useful

Justkeeprollingalong · 29/05/2024 10:05

Anyone else having problems with the medexpress needles? They don't have an inner needle cap, so I find them really hard to get off. If you put the outer needle cap on, you can't get a grip on the needle and if you don't put it on you run the risk of stabbing itself, which I've done a couple of times!

The needle situation seems to be all or nothing. Some companies send just a few and charge for extras whereas others send a box of 100 and a sharps bin each time!

tinpeach · 29/05/2024 14:01

Just used my 2nd shot of 0.5. One stone down so far.
I think I've been really lucky - minimal side effects, just a bit of background nausea that's easy to ignore. I hope it continues this way.

freshstart9 · 29/05/2024 18:57

I haven’t received any alachol wipes/swabs with my order - do I need to use them or will I be ok without?

imnottoofussed · 29/05/2024 19:45

Where did you order from? I know MedExpress they are inside the needles box. I just used a baby wipe one day as didn't have enough for the 5 doses

I've been approved for Mounjaro and it should be arriving between tomorrow and Friday. I wondered if anyone had any advice on when is best to take it. I have a full day out on Saturday and Sunday, so I'm not sure whether to wait until I get back on Sunday night or take it as soon as it arrives? Am I likely to have side effects which impact my ability to work or go out?
It was from Superdrug
