Morning all. I'm finding that my weight isn't coming off as quickly as I'd like but I reckon it's the booze. Injection no 3 is tomorrow with third official weigh in on Wednesday but I have only lost 4-5 pounds in 13 days and I reckon it's the weekends as I'm still drinking far too much wine. I'm disappointed that it hasn't affected me wanting to drink as food wise I'm comfortable that I'm doing enough.

We're going on holiday on Friday and our friends are on a no booze mission. I've tentatively raised with DH that we follow suit. He's not overweight but is a big drinker, always buying alcohol and offering a drink and I need to take accountability and just say no, or even get rid of it if he still buys it for me. I would be so pleased if we both stop drinking as much.

Thats great. If you carry on how you are now, that's 10lbs in a month. You could try cutting down on your booze intake and seeing if that accelerates your weight loss a bit.

I have stayed the same this week but generally down 8 pounds overall now . It is odd as I do feel like I’m eating so little and not losing as fast as would usually but going to keep up with what I’m doing . Very hungry today suddenly as I’m day 5.

I think this is it for me too and I’m going to try and cut back . Starting by pouring away the half a bottle I have left from yesterday. I am keeping within planned calories but I think maybe it’s making me hold onto weight still

Give it a bit more time to start feeling the effects. Now I'm on 5mg I can easily avoid alcohol. Hopefully a few more weeks and you will get some stronger effects.

Things are working well for me. I moved from 2.4mg Wegovy to MJ and am on 5mg.

My highest ever weight was 14st 12lbs in Feb 2020. I got down to 8.5stone in Sep 2021 but put most of it back on.

Today I am 10st 9.4lbs. That's a small milestone that I will never see FOUR digits on the scales again if you see what I mean, now that I'm under 10st 10lb.

I look good at 9st. (I'm only 5ft 2)

I work long hours at a desk and my natural setting is "indoors" and "inactive". So I don't fight against it toooo hard.

I vaguely try intermittent fasting/low carb
Typical ideal day for me:

11am: Greek yog, berries
4pm: 2 salmon fillets.
8pm: Nuts, cheese, apple
Snacks: low cal hot choc with milk, maybe a little choc

Soukmyfalafel · 25/03/2024 11:41

It's interesting what people are saying about the 5mg. I am on second 2.5 jab and after a good start this week, I'm feeling really hungry today on day 5. I'm wondering whether to utilise 5th dose and have 5/6 days between jabs instead. It's proper hunger today. I had breakfast 2 hour ago.

ObsidianTree · 25/03/2024 11:52

@Soukmyfalafel I did find myself bringing my injection a day or two forward when I was feeling hungry. You are allowed to take it up to 3 days early I believe. So maybe while on the lower dose go up if you feel you need to.

That's what I'm doing today. I'll have the jab today instead of tomorrow. Bloody starving! (Despite having a nice, filling breakfast)

Soukmyfalafel · 25/03/2024 12:08

It's not just me then! I know it's a small dose at the moment, so I'm not hugely concerned, but I don't want to start gorging on cake like a ravenous animal and then undo the last five days. I think I will see how today goes and might take it this evening.

I still need to work out how to get the 5th one out. Whether to just risk breaking the pen or injecting myself with another needle, which I'm a bit apprehensive about. I'm going to order my next pen this week, so if I fuck it up and i dont get it out, I will have the next month's supply on standby.

Stickthatupyourdojo · 25/03/2024 12:58

Thanks for the advice everyone, really appreciate it and you're right, my loss is still good just because it's not drastic. I think I am going to try and get the "5th dose" out at the same time as doing my 4th next week to bump up to 5mg and see how I go.

It's definitely not just you don't worry.

I've just taken my 2nd jab and the hunger has disappeared almost immediately, big relief! I was starting to think about chocolate again.. 😂

Argh second nature said I wasn't eligible. 😭 I'm going to make a gp appt asap and get it sorted!

Some amazing losses on here. It is so exciting to hear people who are truly seeing success. Well done!

@Stickthatupyourdojo - I have had slow but steady loss - no big weeks for me, but it is working. I am averaging 1.6lbs a week, which adds up. Keep it up!

I am on my 3rd week of 7.5mg (as a reminder, I am in the US) and it has been pretty good. I am now down 18lbs and people are starting to notice.

My husband actually put 14lbs of weightlifting weights on the kitchen table for me when I got home from work - just to show me how much I had lost.

I am still not finding this easy - it remains hard work for me. But the effects of the medication mean I am persisting and not giving up, which is what I would have done in the past.

I cannot find 7.5mgs anywhere in my area, so I think I am going to have to go back to 5.0 for a month until supply issues improve. I am not sure what else to do and my doctor still thinks this is a great help for my diabetes. My next tests are in mid April to really understand whether it is working to bring my blood sugar levels down.

Hey, I used this website to calculate what I should be aiming for to lose weight. Due to me weighing so much it stated I should eat 160g of protein per day to lose weight but I can't fit that in easily so I aim for 120-130g.

TDEE Calculator: Learn Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure

I’m on 120g minimum protein a day (set by a couple of online pts I’ve worked with) I find it doable from food but eat chicken/fish/skyr/greek yogurt.

Thank you. Congratulations on your losses that's really great and kind of you to be so encouraging. I love that your husband did that, I bet that visual reminder really was a stark reminder! I hope you manage to get the 7.5 and that you get great results on your next lot of bloods.

Investinmyself · 25/03/2024 14:23

I’m week 2 and 4lb down. Have been away for a few days. I’m in the still hungry for meals camp, feeling really well. It’s just helping me stick to my cals (1600 a day) and make healthy choices. I’m eating virtually no junk snacks. Walking lots. Lots of protein. I very much want to feel healthy.

What was the issue?

ticktock19 · 25/03/2024 14:55

The general conversation was that I'm due to reorder over Easter but they've been emailing me numerous times to say order this week so you don't run out. The only option is to reorder 5mg which I don't want.
They've said that they've had no communication from the manafacturers and therefore have no dates when any further stock is due. Their doctor will decide if it's worth staying on 5mg or stopping entirely and restarting at 2.5mg when they have far more stock. I'm pretty furious to be honest, after all the Ozempic and WeGovy fiasco, you'd have really hoped they'd have got the supply sorted in time. It's not like everyone starts at 7.5mg so they should have been able to work out on initial sales what stock was going to be needed in 8 weeks time.
I'm so so on 5mg but don't see the point in paying another £150-£180 for the same dose unfortunately. Just really disappointed with it all

ObsidianTree · 25/03/2024 14:58

When does your last dose of 5mg run out? Hopefully we will see some 7.5mg early April?!

KeepingUndercover · 25/03/2024 14:53

What was the issue?

They didn't say - they just said "due to a medical condition, your history or an allergy"

I have tried with Asda. If that doesn't work, I'm going to go to my GP and see if they can help me out with a recommendation!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to update every one of my good news :) last Tuesday was my first week and I lost a pound. (Which is really good as I'm on a mood stabiliser and put on 40kg in two years)

At first I was really disappointed with only a pound until my friend reminded me that a pound is a bag of sugar.

Happy Monday Everyone x
