The predicted weight loss from the company themselves and their studies isn't great either and certainly that alone wouldn't have encouraged me to try this, but so many people have had much better results. Studies tend to conservative.

So my journey to work was fun this morning. My concerns yesterday regarding the spicy noodles and stomach issues were not unfounded! I managed to make it work, but the last 15 minutes drive was very uncomfortable with stomach cramps and an urgent need for the bathroom! Thankfully, once I'd been (not pleasant) I've been fine since. Very slight nausea, if I think about it, but nothing distracting.

I was a bit hungry when I woke up, but I don't usually eat breakfast so I didn't. Brought a banana in case I needed it. Now I've been in the kitchen at work and there were chocolates and biscuits and I just don't fancy them.

I'd be worried about ending up with a ton of loose skin if the weight came off too quickly! And it piling back on fast after because my body hadn't adjusted.

Second dose this morning and feeling fine. The appetite supression and lack of food noise isn't as drastic as I expected it to be....it almost took me by surprise that I wasn't fussed about an extra slice of toast etc. It's very subtle - which I think is good.

SW: 15st 7.5lbs
Week1: 15st (2.5mg)
CW: 15st

Good first week 🙂

Sounds like a cure for the constipation??!

Yes it does help with that! But probably not worth it!

I feel like if you're counting calories whatever you eat is fine, and you do what works for you.
My only concern with sugar for me personally is that it triggers cravings for more. But maybe MJ counteracts that.

A bit of sugar is fine I think. The kids bought me chocolate for Mother's Day and I ate it, but it was in a 'This is pleasant' way rather than a 'I can't stop and want more' way. I've also had the odd traybake type thing over the last month, but just had a bite or two rather than wanting the whole tray... I remember my (very skinny and always dieting) mum used to always say she would just have a sliver of something sweet and I seem to currently be that person thanks to MJ!

I have to buy my daughter sweet things to get some calories down her (she has a BMI under 19 thanks to a chronic health condition), but I find them of no interest now. My white wine habit has also dwindled...

MiniCooperLover · 21/03/2024 11:26

Keepthepeace82, I know what you mean. I've never had major food 'noise' as such, just portions being too big and being stuck in peri-menopause all combining together though with Ozempic previously I had very dramatic 'noise cancellation'. I started Mounjaro yesterday and this has been more interesting in a way, this morning I just automatically only did one slice of toast to go with my scrambled eggs and I took about 10 minutes eating it instead of wolfing it down .. and it seemed almost like I was a bit 'meh'.

RagzRebooted · 21/03/2024 11:35

Should we be concerned about the shortages in America/Canada? I know they use a different pen, but it's the same drug.

Yeah, I'm not planning to try it 😂

This is what I'm worried about as I have a huge fat 'apron' and I don't want to be left with loads of skin from that as my stomach is knackered from pregnancies and a CS anyway.
Currently it's the only part of me that weight isn't shifting from anyway 😑

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 21/03/2024 09:26

Week 3 and I've only lost 2lb. To be fair wine has crept in a fair bit this week along with a takeaway. Didn't eat and drink as much as I usually do but they still featured.

Going to tighten up and weigh myself more often. Hopefully going up a pen will make a difference.

How did you find drinking on it? I have my first dose ready to go in the fridge but I have a friends hen do on 6th April so was waiting until after that so I don’t get side effects!

@Thebaldprimadonna

That's an amazing overall loss. 👏

We're similar starting weights, so it's encouraging to see your progress as you're a week ahead of me.

Over a stone in 4 weeks? Yep, I'll pay £185 for that!!

Same as me, I’m starting my first dose in a couple of weeks so hoping I can get something like this too!

Investinmyself · 21/03/2024 12:00

That’s an amazing loss in 5 weeks well done. I’d love to say same in 5 weeks.

Investinmyself · 21/03/2024 12:06

@BigMamma613 it sounds like you’ve already cut lots of sugar so if a little on your breakfast works for you go for it. You may find tastes change as you eat less sugar. I find raspberries or blueberries good with weetabix (I do a layered overnight weetabix with Greek yoghurt)

I have an apron stomach. I lost a lot of weight previously and swam a few times a week and overall didn’t have much loose skin but had my apron. My muscles are wrecked from pregnancy only surgery would sort it. It’s always last place I lose. I wear high Sloggi knickers and it was more manageable when it was just skin not fat apron.

Investinmyself · 21/03/2024 12:21

I’m sleeping better on it. Slept 6 hours straight last night which is unheard of for me in perimenopause.
I’m week 2. Still feeling well. I’m wondering if I’m avoiding some side effects as I’m not having alcohol, no fried food, virtually no sweet stuff. I’m eating pretty repetitively too - protein yoghurt/berries, homemade soup, protein & veg dinner.
The aloe Vera tablets recommended is working nicely to avoid constipation, gentle no cramps.

ChequeredPastel · 21/03/2024 12:28

I’ve entered a new stone zone so treated myself today to some lovely posh shower gel that I can’t really afford.

I feel hungry on the jab (still on 2.5) but I sort of don’t care about it 😂 if that makes sense.

I do find my blood sugars drop significantly and quickly and I feel really whoozy.

this is exactly how I felt when I was low carbing. So it’s manageable.

Im also sleeping really heavily, and feel like I have more energy. Also worried about loose skin but will cross that bridge when I get to it.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 21/03/2024 12:59

I feel ok, not any better or worse than usual when I haven't been on the jab. I definitely feel it's hindered me this week though as I've had few days off at the same time as my partner so falling back into bad habits. For one offs hopefully you'll be fine!

Soukmyfalafel · 21/03/2024 14:31

Not sure how I'm doing today. 2nd day of 2nd dose. Had 2 poached eggs for breakfast and spinach, and a side plate sized serving of ham and salad for lunch. I'm trying to keep carbs and down and eat more protein and nutrient rich foods. I expect calorie wise that's around 500? I probably have that just for breakfast normally. Will no doubt eat more tonight as i tend to feel hungry then. I'm beating myself up a bit when I eat, but a the sametime I don't want to literally starve myself either. I need to decide on number of cals a day I think and stick to that.

Anyone know how soon you can order from Asda after getting your first pen? I'm concerned about shortages and would like 2 months on this at least, so I have lost a decent chunk of weight. I don't know how long they keep in the fridge though, so not sure if ordering early is a good idea?

Namechange25793 · 21/03/2024 14:42

Omg! I saw my eyebrow lady for first time in 6 weeks she said I look like I’ve lost lots of weight! She couldn’t believe the difference since she saw me 6 weeks ago 😂😂

I do think I look less bloat in the face. I’m on my 4th injection

Namechange25793 · 21/03/2024 14:47

@Soukmyfalafel We’re still supposed to enjoy food on this medication, there is no good to come from developing disordered eating habits and seeking to overly restrict calories. You can calculate your TDEE online, then subtract 500 calories to get your daily calorie allowance. That way, you can eat within this range guilt free…

obviously try to pick a range of nutritious foods but with the odd guilt-free treat. It might be quicker to lose weight by starving yourself, but you risk developing deficiencies, hair loss … even an eating disorder. In my opinion, it’s not worth it. Food is to be enjoyed and appreciated!

Someone up thread asked about changing supplier for the next dose.
I have just done this and Bolt asked for evidence so I sent them the email confirmation of my prescription at 2.5mg and they then prescribed me 5mg. The issue will be if you change a lot your weight is going to be less and you may no longer meet the criteria.
You have to have a BMI if 30 but if you lose a stone in a month it will very quickly mean you are under. Luckily I'm just at 30.

Ha. If only losing a stone would put me under 30 😂

This is really worrying. Food is not the enemy! And this medication shouldn't be totally removing the desire to eat, that would be miserable and kill us all very fast. You've eaten nutritious and tasty sounding food, celebrate it! If it helps for you to calculate calories to stop you undereating maybe that's a good idea? Or maybe you need some help with these thoughts if they continue?

I'm not calorie counting because I hate it. I'm just focusing on having three balanced meals a day with all food groups. Paying attention to when I feel full and not beating myself up if I have something a bit more treat like.

Does that mean once we hit a BMI of 30 we'll no longer be able to use it? Mine is 34 but I'll still be fat at 30 😶

Wonkypictureframe · 21/03/2024 17:22

I’m not calorie counting either. I have lost my taste for alcohol, no temptation from greasy or sweet food, so the food I’m eating is pretty much healthy. Today I had lunch in Leon. I love their chicken nuggets but I felt a bit queasy at the idea and actually ended up eating a butternut squash salad thing (left half of it) and a green juice. But that felt like exactly what I wanted, and normally I’d feel wistful that I’d not had the nuggets.
