Well it was EXTREMELY easy to order with Asda. Take note, BOOTS!!! With your stupid bloody online consultation forms that don't work. Maybe upgrade your IT from 1995?! And let people order outside of working hours? Slightly more expensive but the time saved immense!

😂This made me laugh. The boots website is soooo shit. Lots of times I've tried to order from Boots for other things and have given up. I don't know how they are still in business.

To the pp about size of package, it comes wrapped in wool. It's fairly big for what it is. Like a shoe box for walking boots. You oh might wonder where the wool has come from. My OH was at the other end of how your DH is, and a bit too encouraging. He obviously doesn't like looking at my fat arse. He is a bit shocked at how little I'm eating, so that might be difficult to hide. In terms of family finances, we usually put savings in a pot, so this jab is coming out of my own spends/savings pot and I'm continuing to contribute as normal. I'm happy to spend 600 of my own money to lose two stone and I'm hoping I will save on not having buy clothes the next size up - again.

Thanks to the posters who answered my Q about drawing a 5th dose from the pen. Can I buy any of the available syringes with needles on amazon or is there a specific set most of you are using? Sorry for all the questions I'm keen to get everything right with this as it's too expensive to mess up 🙈

I'm on a Facebook group and someone
Said they had to hold the purple part of the pen while they twisted the rest really hard and they were able to use the pen a fifth time.

I'm going to try this next Tuesday on dose day and will report back.

If not I've got 1ml medical grade needles. Some have got theirs from Amazon, I got mine from a medical website.

Thank you!

I'll be interested to see whether that works for you, it's certainly alot less faff than having to use a syringe.

I'll pop an order in for the ones you've linked 😊

Second dose this morning and feeling fine. The appetite supression and lack of food noise isn't as drastic as I expected it to be....it almost took me by surprise that I wasn't fussed about an extra slice of toast etc. It's very subtle - which I think is good.

SW: 15st 7.5lbs
Week1: 15st (2.5mg)
CW: 15st

RagzRebooted · 21/03/2024 07:58

Slept terribly after first dose yesterday. Took until nearly 1am to get to sleep then woke up every few hours needing a wee. Have a really stiff, painful neck on one side, which is unusual for me.

Needle wise, make sure you're getting 1ml not 0.5ml and microfine ones. Ideally short (8mm or less). They will still be bigger than the one it comes with, but will be fine. Amazon isn't necessarily cheapest, there's a few medical supplies places that even with postage work out about the same.

TitsInAbsentia · 21/03/2024 08:08

I twisted and got the last dose out but be careful to depress the plunger slowly as it came out too fast and some overflowed on to my pants.

BigMamma613 · 21/03/2024 08:20

Would I be unreasonable to have half a tablespoon of sugar on my 2 weetabix in the morning? I've tried without and really don't like it.

I've been a snacker (chocolate, biscuits etc) for years but have cut all of that out completely since starting MJ. I've also switched my usual 1-2tbsp of sugar in cups of tea for a 0 calorie plant alternative, Stevia. It's just as sweet as sugar and doesn't set off my migraines like the normal artificial sweeteners. I have about 5 cups of tea per day so it's a big reduction in calories in itself.

I think such a small amount of sugar should be OK shouldn't it? Only half a tsp once a day? I'm making sure I don't go over 1200cals on Mfp.

I'm working my arse off in all other areas including the gym so it's my little 'treat' I suppose.

FlappyFish · 21/03/2024 08:54

@BigMamma613 of course it’s ok! Permission granted from me. ;) If we deprive ourselves of things the restriction and binge urge will be too strong.

I would hazard a guess every single one of us has tried every diet and plan under the sun before this. If you want the sugar, have the sugar. Making good and bad lists will lead to a blow out. (And reading on some forums, that will simply make you vomit and have it come out the other end super fast too).

FlappyFish · 21/03/2024 09:02

Week 5 weigh in.

Height:5’7

SW: 14.1
CW: 12.12

It’s day 33. (I took first jab on a Saturday and have moved the date. I start 5mg next).

I feel like if you're counting calories whatever you eat is fine, and you do what works for you.
My only concern with sugar for me personally is that it triggers cravings for more. But maybe MJ counteracts that.

ObsidianTree · 20/03/2024 18:24

It gives a 2.5mg dose in the end bit

Thank you ! So I could do the two and go up a week early

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 21/03/2024 09:26

Week 3 and I've only lost 2lb. To be fair wine has crept in a fair bit this week along with a takeaway. Didn't eat and drink as much as I usually do but they still featured.

Going to tighten up and weigh myself more often. Hopefully going up a pen will make a difference.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 21/03/2024 09:27

Well 2lb from when I last logged my weight on my app, so my starting weight may have been higher. Aargh who knows. Knuckle down now!

FlappyFish · 21/03/2024 09:29

This turned up on my Facebook memories from 2013 this morning. Made me smile.

Continuing Mounjaro... Part 2
PissedOffNeighbour22 · 21/03/2024 09:37

@Mortigua Yes that's what I did. I took my usual dose last Wednesday and then took the remaining dose (extracted by syringe) last Friday as I had a 14hr day at work and didn't want to risk taking them both on the Wednesday, otherwise I'd have taken them both together.

@FlappyFish well done, that's a good loss.

@BigMamma613 definitely have that sugar, you're working hard for it. I'm still having a treat if I want one as I know there's no point denying myself everything as I'll just fail once I come off Mounjaro. I'm working more on reducing treats rather than having nothing at all.

Mortigua · 21/03/2024 09:58

@PissedOffNeighbour22 ah that’s good to know thanks . How have you found moving up to 5? And anyone else who has done that. I am having suppression and no major side effects so I feel I’ll be ok I’m just hopeful that change will be a bit more fast ! It’s been quite painfully slow so far !

1stTimeMummy2021 · 21/03/2024 09:58

Has anyone else been suffering from insomnia? Mine's really bad at the moment but I don't know if it's the meds or work troubles.

lurkylurk · 21/03/2024 10:07

Has anyone switched suppliers and been able to get a higher dose prescribed than the starting dose?

I got the Voy half-price deal on the first pen but want to switch to another supplier for 5mg one and wondered if anyone here had done that so I'd know which suppliers will do it and what evidence they needed.

As I'm hiding this from my husband (he's a builder and slim and fit and would frown upon using drugs to do this and worry about long term side effects), I ripped up the box from first pen but luckily thought of this in time before finished ripping it and still have the panel that shows what it is, the date prescribed and my name etc.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 21/03/2024 10:21

@Mortigua I haven't noticed much difference to be honest but it's time of the month so that could explain why I'm eating all the sweets I can get my hands on 😄.

I think I'm less bothered about meals but at no point so far have I had that not being able to eat feeling that is talked about a lot on here. I still eat a large meal in the evening without issue. I don't think the 5mg has made any difference to cravings over the 2.5mg but I'd say I feel a little bit more full in general on the 5mg.
I'll have my first proper dose from the 5mg pen tomorrow and see how I'm doing in a couple of weeks.

I still don't really have any side effects yet but haven't decided if I'll go up to the 7.5mg 'on-time'. I have a huge amount of weight to shift to be within healthy range and it would be great to get it off as fast as possible (cost mainly) but I don't want to be on 1000 cals a day to do so as I know I'll fail once I come off Mounjaro if I'm not already eating fairly normally.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 21/03/2024 10:27

Just had this from Asda on an email advising the expected weight loss.

MFP says I've already lost 9% of my body weight in 4 weeks so the asda figures seem very conservative.

ObsidianTree · 21/03/2024 10:39

@BigMamma613 sure you can have sugar. If so do feel like it's making you crave sugar you could try switch to something like canderel sugerly. I use this and I feel like it tastes like sugar!

Mortigua · 21/03/2024 10:39

Sounds very sensible , thanks for that , it’s interesting to hear how others are doing. I’m struggling a bit as I want to see change but I know also it has to be sustainable and I can’t afford to be on it forever .
i feel the weight loss isn’t keeping up with the calorie deficit ! But hopefully it will move soon . I can see a difference I think , in my face and proportions but could be wishful thinking!
9 percent loss is amazing though for you, whatever you’re doing is working .

Mortigua · 21/03/2024 10:41

Totm did that to me too - perhaps not as much as usual but I craved sweet stuff and when the craving was there it was the same desperate urge as ever ! Ended up having low cal hot choc and then sugar free sweets (don’t do this ) 😂

NCfor24 · 21/03/2024 10:42

Honestly reading the Asda stuff would stop me even trying. I'd think I could do that alone! Reality is I can't else I wouldn't be obese, but it seems demoralisingly slow almost.
I want fairly rapid results due to cost more than anything, but I'm 6 days in and don't have a deprived "on a diet" feeling so I think that combined with slow but steady weight loss is worth the money.
I have 3-4 stone to lose (will go on how I look/feel not BMI) and a holiday end of August as my target.

Sounds like a cure for the constipation??!
