I would love to talk to some 2019 brides! I'll be the first to admit I've got stress coming out of my eyeballs! I hate the planning and now wondering if we will even afford it on time Sad
I'm also wondering how to lose weight!! Anybody else?

I got mine for £600 from the Bridal Factory Outlet in Northallerton, for any Northern brides. They’re fantastic, all the dresses are off the peg, so I do need to pay for alterations nearer the time (but how near?!).

They have real designer brands, Mori Lee & Ronald Joyce but at much lower prices. Can highly recommend.

blueskiespls · 08/12/2018 17:16

Mine was £450, but as I said before I got it for a bargain. Price tag was £1000 then 50% off And I offered the £450 as they were moving their shop! Found a lady for alterations. She said max of £100. My shoes were from Clark's online Outlet shop. White leather wedges! Mega comfy and will 100% wear again Grin

@KatyaZamolodchikova I'll have a look thank you Xmas Smile

MaMaMaMySharona · 10/12/2018 15:39

MoHunter I'm paying to have hair & make up for my bridesmaids (5) and my mum and I, it's costing nearly £600. I did shop around but then it's my own fault for having so many bridesmaids!

I'm getting married on 5th October next year and so far have booked:

  • church
  • venue
  • caterers (although not agreed a price yet!)
  • band
  • photographer
  • hair and make up
  • wedding car
  • bought my outfit (it's a skirt handmade on Etsy with a top from ASOS Grin
  • flowers, just bouquets and buttonholes

Still need to sort:

  • bridesmaids outfits (I know where I'm getting them from, just waiting for a sale)
  • all outfits for groom's side
  • decorations for the venue
  • somewhere to stay on our wedding night!
  • night time snacks
  • flower girl dresses
  • ordering all the booze

I don't feel particularly stressed about it but am a little bit concerned about logistics for guests - most of mine will be travelling around 200 miles so will all need accommodation but our venue is a bit...middle of nowhere Confused

Same day as me MaMaMaMySharona !
I got my dress today in a sample sale Shock I just thought I would try some on and have a think Grin luckily they will store it and work with a seamstress who will do my alterations closer to the time!

QforCucumber · 10/12/2018 16:48

February here, 10 weeks to go!

I got my dress for £100 in a huge sale reduced from £1500 as it was a sample dress, it was 2 sizes too big but have had it altered and is perfect, wholly recommend and if any of you are in the North East I can let you know where from too!

MaMaMaMySharona · 11/12/2018 09:34

CurbsideProphet how exciting! For some reason my DM had a fit when I said I wanted to get married in October - still haven't worked out why but she seems to have calmed down now Hmm

What is everyone having for food? We're having quite an early ceremony so eating at around 3.30, mostly so that my evening guests can come earlier as a lot of them will have travelled a long way. This means we need something reasonably substantial later in the evening, but I have no idea what!

northernstars · 11/12/2018 11:00

August for me - the last date the ceremony venue had but it's a Thursday. Only booked that and the humanist so far. Struggling with dresses as I've seen nothing that matches what I have in my head!

CurbsideProphet · 11/12/2018 15:46

MaMaMaMySharona we'll probably have a roast, as the venue is known for a good roast and it saves us having to decide

@northernstars what are you looking for?

QforCucumber · 11/12/2018 16:21

MaMaMaMySharona We are getting married in Vegas with only 2 friends coming too so food will be wherever we end up! We are having a reception a few days after our return and on offer there is either a hog roast or BBQ, we are undecided but have to make the choice next weekend argh!

Motherwell91 · 11/12/2018 16:29

November 2019 here. Very stressed out. Especiallly the money side. Glad to see it seems quite normal

Motherwell91 · 11/12/2018 16:38

Is david's bridal any good ?

Xmasfairy86 · 11/12/2018 20:01

May! And panic is setting in as I’ve put it to one side to stress over Xmas instead 😂😩😂🙈🙈😩

Mummyme87 · 11/12/2018 20:23

motherwell I looked at their stuff at the National wedding show and chose bridesmaids dresses there

CurbsideProphet · 11/12/2018 22:41

I've started getting worried about being on my period on the big day Confused Blush I can't take anything hormonal to delay it (migraines) and I keep stressing myself out by trying to count ahead 9/10 (!!) months to work out if I will or won't be. It sounds ridiculous, but now it's the only thing I'm worried about Angry Sad

northernstars · 13/12/2018 14:09

@CurbsideProphet I've my heart set on a tulle skirt and separate top, but I want the top to be tailored.
Hard to explain. I might get the top on Etsy and try and match it to a shop dress.
Also as I am in bed recovering from a migraine I hear you. The week leading up to the wedding I'm going to have to make really sure I eat and sleep properly and keep hydrated.

JingsMahBucket · 13/12/2018 14:25

@blueskiespls please spill the beans about the comfortable shoes you bought at Clarks!

On Tuesday I finally just accepted that some things will cost what they will cost and just go with it. This is in regards to food and drink catering. I can always make more money to pay for it. Grin

JingsMahBucket · 13/12/2018 14:27

Oh yeah, about wedding websites. Is there a site/wedding site company that can help you create a site where you give your guests an individual/unique invite code or URL that nobody else can use to RSVP? We'd like to keep it more private and not have any Tom, Dick, and Harry RSVPing. I don't think it's very likely but OH wants to ensure that doesn't happen. He's thinking of just coding it himself, but I don't think there's a need to do that.

MaMaMaMySharona · 13/12/2018 14:41

@JingsMahBucket On gettingmarried.co.uk we've got the option to add passwords on to RSVP's (so we have different passwords for our day and evening guests) - would that solve the problem?

QforCucumber · 13/12/2018 14:43

@KatyaZamolodchikova i wonder if you're near me, i got mine in Thornaby at Butterflies in a sample sale! its the Ronald Joyce hayden and I LOVE it!

Jings That all sounds far too technical and complicated for me ahha

MoHunter · 13/12/2018 15:37

northernstars I’ve seen someone’s engagement pictures wearing a lovely tulle skirt off Amazon, not got a link for the specific one but have you looked there?

JingsMahBucket · 13/12/2018 15:44

@MaMaMaMySharona yep I think so. Thanks so much, I'll check that out tomorrow evening when OH have a "wedding meeting". Hah!

MaMaMaMySharona · 13/12/2018 15:48

@northernstars I ordered my tulle skirt from here: Etsy

SilentBob · 13/12/2018 15:58

Never mind all this- WHERE ARE THE DRESS PICTURES?!😂

I've been engaged for just over 4 years- we knew we'd be moving cities so waited until then to start planning. Found perfect venue. Waaaaaaaaay over budget. Still looking for back up.

I scour stillwhite on the daily for dresses but I just can't make up my mind. (I guess I'd be classed as an older bride, so my own head makes me rule out certain styles! Also I like very very plain dresses and very very sequinned dresses sooooo.....🤣)
