I would love to talk to some 2019 brides! I'll be the first to admit I've got stress coming out of my eyeballs! I hate the planning and now wondering if we will even afford it on time
I'm also wondering how to lose weight!! Anybody else?

I don't think we're doing favours for adults, though will give each child an age appropriate puzzle book or something to help keep them occupied and happy.

Hello - can I join? Just decided to tie the knot before Christmas - picked a venue/date - visited - booked and have booked registrar to come already. Its in July, close family and just a few friends - very small. No fuss!! No cake and no speeches!!! Any ideas for a dress? I would like a hippy/flowery number if possible.... not white!!! not much to worry about except who doesn't get invited....! How is it all going for you??

My invitations came today - took less than a week even though I selected the cheapest, slowest, delivery. Very happy with them. Thanks to everyone who suggested vistaprint!

Thanks for the tips - found a gorgeous number from Monsoon in the sale - ordered it and 2 days later they have cancelled my order - no dresses in my size now!! Argh! I need to lose a bit of weight anyway so I am not too worried. So now I have to exercise and diet and wait for the new collections to arrive! yay!

Finally ordered our invitations, RSVPs and matching place cards today - 40% off on Zazzle (I missed the earlier 50% sale ). I can’t wait to get them out and get that off my list!!!

Is everyone quite organised? I only ask as our is very last minute - so we have booked the place and paid deposit and I've booked registrar and paid deposit....I've asked a couple of people...but that's all....ours will be very simple so less to worry about, but I haven't really done much yet. Was going to do it all over the Easter holidays when I'm off. Is that bad??

I wouldn’t worry too much ironman were the same, got engaged in November and marrying in July. We’ve got the church, florist and caterer booked, and my dress on order and that’s it. We’re having a marquee reception but haven’t decided whether to hire or to buy one yet. We have acres of time it’s going to be a relatively big wedding too, around 90 for the day and a further 150+ for the evening.
Invitations are next on my list, my sister is painting them for me and will hopefully have the design to the printers in the next few weeks.

Also, I don’t think it is that last minute, it just seems the current trend (so to speak) in weddings to have a year plus engaged and planning.

A friend of mine managed it all in 6 weeks, so I am sure I have enough time!! We aren't having a very traditional do, so less to worry about. Just ceremony, food/drinks then home I think. Are you all having 'proper' dresses? I can't decide....

Yea, I’m going for a ‘proper’ dress, but we are doing the traditional day, and I do like a chance to dress up so it suits me you shouldn’t feel like you have to or ought to if you don’t fancy it really!

I think I may be behind on my stuff. :) I just finally booked a wedding ring consultation at a local place and our wedding is in April. Hah!

For those of you who have bought your rings already, how long did it take to find the right one? As far as I can tell, I have simple tastes and would like to get the ring buying over with.

Having what seems to be the usual issues of a DW, the rapidly shrinking guest list!

We just ordered our wedding rings a couple of weeks ago, same place we got the engagement ring. Chose quickly as I’d seen a look I liked.

We are having a small wedding and so far I have 5 non takers - I've only invited 13 so far. I am feeling a bit sad, but I am going to invite all my school friends instead and make it a bigger wedding!! Still only 50 though!! we shall see. Still looking at dresses though - I want a coloured dress - any ideas anyone??

We’re both 50, first time marriage for both. Two youngish kids.

I haven’t sorted anything yet other than written down who to invite, venue deposit and booked registry ceremony

everything will probably fall into place, and if it doesn’t, well we have the venue and marriage bit, people will turn up and party, and they’re the most important things.

Not worrying if the table log slices match the napkins.
