I would love to talk to some 2019 brides! I'll be the first to admit I've got stress coming out of my eyeballs! I hate the planning and now wondering if we will even afford it on time Sad
I'm also wondering how to lose weight!! Anybody else?

@MoHunter I'm still ploughing through hundreds of dresses on Etsy!
@MaMaMaMySharona that's exactly the kind of clothes I had in mind - thanks so much. I presume you were happy with them?

MaMaMaMySharona · 13/12/2018 16:20

@northernstars I've had the skirt delivered and it's absolutely stunning. Just had it altered (as I ordered it much longer than necessary just in case) and cannot wait to wear it!

The lady I dealt with responded really quickly and their work is of the highest standard, cannot recommend enough.

@gizmosslave Fabulous frock!

gizmosslave · 13/12/2018 16:55

@SilentBob thanks! I just need to decide how to have my hair!

CurbsideProphet · 13/12/2018 17:46

Beautiful dresses Smile

QforCucumber · 13/12/2018 18:43

Oh gizmo your dress is beautiful!

I will not be wearing a bkack bra on the day, and have gone back to my natural hair colour which looks so much better. Also need to decide on hairstyle

SargeantAngua · 13/12/2018 19:25

Lovely dresses! Mine is very simple for ease of movement, but adding accessories like the belt to make it more pretty.

Oh well, if we’re sharing dress pictures... Grin
Here’s my Wed2B dress which I absolutely love, I still want to get some kind of a lace bolero and lose at least a stone ...

QforCucumber · 14/12/2018 09:22

Oh I love them all! I keep thinking I want something more floaty and 'big' and seeing yours makes me want to swap!

gizmosslave · 14/12/2018 15:07

@MoHunter are you in Wiltshire? I think that’s the same shop I got mine in!

MoHunter · 14/12/2018 15:11

mrsseashell Thanks but I really do, excercise regime will commence after Christmas. Grin Your dress is gorgeous, is it blush?

gizmosslave No this was from the Wed2B store near Solihull but they have a number of branches.

gizmosslave · 14/12/2018 16:54

@MoHunter the shops are identical!

Can I join you we are both second time around him a widower me a divorcee. We are marrying next December (2019).
For a variety of reasons finding a venue that meet or requirements was quite tricky, but we have achieved that.
Some of you mentioned the websites, how do these companies make their money the website is free and they guarantee no ads. We won't be having a gift list so how is the money made. I can't use anywhere that potentially might spam guests, but lots of our guests are coming from abroad so using a website for replies will be easier. We are using einvites for this reason too. I would happily pay for a private secure website if anyone has any suggestions that don't require me to build from scratch. The einvites guarantee privacy so that is great and well priced too just a bit labour intensive.

Aaaah you all look so beautiful 😍 amazing dresses!

MoHunter · 19/12/2018 23:34

What are you all doing for evening entertainment? We’re not hiring a DJ because find them a bit tacky (no offense) and will just put together a playlist ourselves. There’ll be food including a vintage cart with savoury and sweet treats and a bar (we’ll probably put a bit of money behind the bar / give drink vouchers or something but not a completely open bar). It’s only gonna be 30-35 guests at our wedding, just hoping they won’t get bored in the evening?? Not sure what else we could do that won’t break the bank or be cheesy...

JingsMahBucket · 21/12/2018 23:25

Alright! I just finally sent out the basic person to person email telling folks that we're getting married and then followed it up with the digital invites! Kind of shitting bricks at the nervousness, but oh well. It's done now and that was my goal. So, it may be the last email people read before flitting off for the holidays. :)

@MoHunter we're going with a Spotify playlist for most of the night and then we're planning to have a dj for a couple of hours for dancing and during the cake cutting. One of our friends is an amateur dj and we're planning to ask him and throw about $500 his way along with inviting him, his wife and his 2 sons. Fingers crossed they go for it.

JingsMahBucket · 21/12/2018 23:39

Can we talk rings for a bit please?

How much are (ethical) rings supposed to cost? Neither OH nor I have a clue. Would €500/£500/$500 each be a suitable amount or a bit higher? I'm using that amount as a framework based on this site: www.ingleandrhode.co.uk/collection/wedding-rings/. Both of us don't mind having simple bands. I don't want stones really and if so, I'd prefer a lab gem vs a mined one.

We're going to get our fingers measured while on vacation during the holidays so we can get measurements for US/UK/EU because we really don't know where we'll be getting our rings. At least then we'll be able to have a reference for ring sizes when searching for things. OH might buy his in Scotland and I may buy mine in New York.

What are other folks doing and how much are their wedding bands (?) costing?

Lonecatwithkitten · 22/12/2018 02:51

@JingsMahBucket my ethical 9ct unplated 2mm court cut ring is costing £600. The ethical gold is adding approx £100 to the cost.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 23/12/2018 10:24

I’m still wittering about invites. We’re getting married at 11am. Is it reasonable to put the time as 10.30 on the invites?
Our venue have suggested guests should be arriving for that time, but will people arrive early anyway? What have others done?!

SargeantAngua · 23/12/2018 13:10

I've been worrying about exactly the same thing KatyaZamolodchikova. Interested to hear what others have done!

CurbsideProphet · 24/12/2018 16:50

We're getting married at 12.30 and intend to put on the invitations something like "please arrive from 12pm for the 12.30pm ceremony". We went to a wedding recently and they had put something similar on their invites.
