I picked a second hand eternity i think as my engagement. I dont have pretty hands lol my wedding ring feels too small, a 4mm band against my big hands :(

No pic but I went for a baguette cut diamond wedding ring to match my engagement ring which is an emerald cut solitaire

I just had to shove my wedding band on to show you 😂 my hands are a bit fatter 10 year on so I do take my wedding ring off and just wear my eternity and engagement ring together

Wedding ring is half eternity style. Diamonds on engagement ring stop at the same point on the band as the wedding ring.

Mines diamonds all the way round.

Not the question you asked but... why do some people wear the engagement ring on top, other the wedding ring?

I have my engagement ring on top, I have no idea why, but it now looks weird to do it the other way around.

I can't remember making an active choice about this- did anyone else?

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire yep I wear it as a wedding band. I am very lucky as I have a few rings that I wear as engagement rings (all from my DH I haven’t been engaged loads!). This is the one I’m wearing at the moment, but do have some wider ones that work just as well..

With tradition you should wear your wedding close to your heart where your husband/wife placed it on the day you got married

1999 wedding. Probably the last yellow gold wedding year? It all seems to be white gold/platinum since then.

Normally people wear their engagement rings on top so they can take it off easily when washing hands, doing certain jobs round the house etc which might damage the stones/settings. The traditional gold band wedding ring could be left on as it had no delicate stones.

Mine is Canadian diamonds eternity ring. I went for a plain wedding band so I could have a beautiful eternity ring. I love it 😍

In the UK the tradition is to take your engagement ring off for the wedding, wedding ring goes on and then engagement ring on top. So most people have it that way round.

90s wedding so 18c yellow gold band and sapphire engagement ring. I have really slim fingers, ring size J so they were both made by a local jeweller.

I tried some on yesterday and fsncy a d8amond style but jewellers said that if i need resizing that traditi9nal band is easier plus diamond wedding rings look like etetnity bands. I see her point but dount id ever get an eternity band its taken forever to get to thus stage.

My engagement ring is plstinum but i already have a yellow gold eternity band that i inherited so you know at one point i was gonna go yellow gold but my wngagemnt ring is platinum.

The jeweller was also showing ne palladium said i could wear that with platinum but i was skeptikal. X

My husband has a simple titanium wedding band

Traditionally, the wedding ring goes closest to the knuckle, then other rings on after it. The engagement ring isn't the ring given at the actual wedding to seal the covenant, so shouldn't sit between the wearer and the wedding ring. Women would then put eternity ring on after engagement ring - from knuckle to finger tip the order is wedding ring, engagement ring, then any other significant rings such as eternity and anniversary rings, in order of receipt.

I like the plain band, solitaire. Classic.

Small hands, so went for small, simple rings. I don’t think I’ll get an eternity ring as I had to get the wedding band made to fit the engagement ring.

Both my rings are platinum and I wear my engagement ring then my wedding ring, just my preference. My husband has a platinum milgrain wedding band from Tiffany, it's quite chunky. If I ever get an eternity ring I would go for platinum too.
