we're going to move this thread to Weddings so it doesn't disappear.

My wedding ring was my Great Grandma's, and my engagement ring is from a vintage market in Inverness. DH has a similar wedding ring to mine, found in the vintage market.

My wedding ring is a plain heavyweight 18ct band.
Engagement ring is Victorian, bought 2nd hand, and my eternity ring was also bought 2nd hand as I couldn’t find a modern one with light enough colour emeralds.
I had them examined recently and because of the cost of a repair needed to my engagement ring, am going to have the 3 of them remodelled at some point, so if anyone’s had any rings remodelled, I’d love to see them

I actually wear my eternity ring on my other hand as didn't want to stack lots of rings on my wedding finger!

My eternity ring matches DHs wedding ring which is platinum with a single gold edge (no diamonds)

I don't wear my engagement ring much as my fingers are too short for 3 rings and I don't like the diamond catching on things.

Mine is simple, plain platinum.
I'm traditional and a wedding ring historically is meant to be a plain band that symbolises eternity.

I love eternity rings but they aren't wedding rings to me, and anything that isn't a simple circle gives me the heebies.

But - you should have the rings you both love - and bugger what anyone on the interweb thinks!

Yes will get what i like but have loved looking at everyones rings. I doubt i will get an eternity ring ever and have a gold one.

I love the sparkle look but like others have said a plain band is timeless.

I'm not English, well not British at all, and right now I've learnt what an eternity ring is, had to google it :) interesting traditions you have, but I must say 3 rings on one finger look soooo odd to me. It's like a legend about Muslim women who has to wear all their jewelry in case their husband dump them and they only can take things they have on at the moment. I don't meant to sound rude or offensive, though.
I only wear my wedding ring - a simple band made of pink (or is it red?) gold, about 6 mm wide. DH prefers silver to gold, so his is silver with an onyx.

No engagement ring - just didn’t want one.

We were boycotting South African goods (1993) and couldn’t find any standard gold rings in the UK that didn’t contain South African gold.

So we bought this one in Welsh gold. The hallmark says “Aur Cymru”.

I was convinced I just wanted a plain band, but they all didn't seem to balance the bling of my engagement ring. So when the woman in the shop asked if I wanted to see diamond bands, I really really did.

Does anyone know the best place to buy wedding bands/eternity style wedding bands. Ive found an online shop local to me but dont know whether to trust it or not (did some.digging.. found some skeletons).

In my mind wjeter you buy these things online or in a shop you never really know what youre getting do you?

I don't wear my engagement ring often. We bought the wedding ring in Italy in the early nineties.
I think I'd probably choose platinum now.

I love mine, platinum and diamonds. I didn't want an engagement ring so it's perfect for me.
