1st March ~ start of a new season. After the rather wet winter for some areas, let's hope for something drier over the next few months.

Some thoughts from TheWeatherOutlook.

becausetrampslikeus ~ it's looking 'about average' for the time of year. It doesn't look like there's anything too stormy, not too much in the way of rain, still some overnight frosts/possibly wintry showers for the hills and some warmth/sun at times. So (and remember this is all weeks away so could/probably will all change!), it's looking about the right mix of weather for the time of year.

2025 Easter Sunday was on 20 April. We're expecting a lot for the weather to be similar two weeks earlier.

That’s just fine. Please ban it from changing !

This is true. It is apparently more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas.

I just love those years where we get a random early heatwave in March/April.

But the forecast does look very normal for this time of year.

Delatron · 31/03/2026 21:50

Saturday actually looks reasonably pleasant (SE) temperature wise. I’m feeling slightly more optimistic.

Thanks @GloriaSmud 🙏. This time of year can be so mixed. I’ll take that.

We're rushing to get outdoor things done before it hits. Rotten for parents and kids on Easter break.

When can I have a toddler tantrum at the weather gods?

I'm deeply affected by changeable weather and by the time my pain subsides enough for me to enjoy the sun we have another bout! I only need three stable days in a row to turn human again 😩

Delatron · 05/04/2026 20:25

Looking lovely next week? Very excited for some warmer temperatures..

GloriaSmud · 06/04/2026 06:52

Delatron ~ It's looking like it will indeed be a nice week! (Metoffice are giving us 22C for Wednesday which might be pushing things a bit) but there could be some places that get 19 or 20C around the middle of the week.

Thanks @GloriaSmud I did see the massive temperature drop afterwards 😂. Such is April! Shall enjoy Tuesday and Wednesday though. It’s nice to have some settled weather for a few days.

It's interesting to see how the weather varies over the country. We're in the east and we've had very little rain in the last month. It threatens and then there's just a tiny bit. The fields are cracking already. We've had the wind and that has dried the fields very quickly.

(Far) NE England here and some of our fields are still flooded, although we also get the winds constantly so I am hopeful that they might dry out soon.

Its been flipping freezing here for the past two days yet someone on another thread I'm on mentioned they had 25 degrees on Thursday. I feel like I live in a different world up here sometimes 😁

GreatestOfAllTimes · 12/04/2026 07:29

It was so windy last night, had to go out and secure the bins which I wasn’t expecting.

It’s gone from lovely and warm to absolutely freezing here in the SE. So tricky to dress for. As it can be deceptive when the sun comes out. But the wind yesterday was icy.

deeplybaffled · 12/04/2026 10:18

We visited mid Wales from the northwest last week. On the drive there on Wednesday afternoon, the car thermometer showed 22 degrees. On the drive back yesterday, at around 11am, it showed 3.5 degrees - I felt like I’d gone through the wardrobe into Narnia😂

GloriaSmud · 12/04/2026 20:52

Been a typical April day here today ~ warm sunshine then dark clouds and thundery downpours. Looks like there'll be more of the same to start the week before it warms up heading towards next weekend.

OP posts:
GloriaSmud · 15/04/2026 06:51

Been a blustery few days so far this week and that looks set to continue. For the weekend though, it looks drier and next week at the moment, looks the same ~ dry, warm at times but still the possibility of frosts at night.

OP posts:
countrygirl99 · 15/04/2026 07:54

Still very dry here. Every time rain is forecast we get 10 minutes of light spitting and that's it. The ground is like concrete. Can someone who's getting rain send some our way?

InMySpareTime · 15/04/2026 08:03

I need the wind to die down so I can put my awning up for the summer. The frame is on its last year but I’d rather it shook itself to death in the autumn than now.
