Saturday (1st March) is the start of Spring and for the beginning for the season, it’s looking quiet with some settled spells but chilly nights.

Some thoughts from Netweather….

Was so overcast nasty black clouds I was sure they'd drop some water sigh... Ah well tomorrow it is.

I hope people remember to drive carefully the roads will be very slippery and greasy after this dry spell.

I find that a fan helps my son his loft room gets too hot so I went to Argos. Now he's left home it's mine 😁

Yes! Good point -I have a tower fan somewhere - will get it at the ready.

It's been drizzling this evening, temperature has fallen like a stone. I won't be wearing a dress tomorrow. Back in sheepskin slippers and fleecy dressing gown. 🥶

On a weekend visit to relatives in North Wales.

Spent moots of the day at Penryhn Castle then ice-cream and wandered in Betws-y-Coed. Was lovely but is started to drizzle in the evening so no outdoors bbq.

I live in Manchester and I think it wasvthe first rain I've seen in over 6 weeks.

Off to Anglesey this morning for a beach walk in the rain.

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 24/05/2025 08:21

We had 6mm last night. I saw overnight rain in the forecast and hoped I'd wake in the early hours to hear it and my wish was granted, a lovely pattering of rain in the dark.

gingercat02 · 24/05/2025 10:02

Rain here too. We were coming home just after 11 last night and it started as a bit of drizzle. Quite heavy in a blustery window during the night.
Breezy and blue skies now.

GloriaSmud · 24/05/2025 10:23

Cloudy and humid here (Leicester) but we had 6.4mm of rain overnight with a bit more to come tonight. Bit of a showery week ahead but it looks like for most of the country, nicer weather returns from next weekend onwards.

Let the dogs out around midnight. The smell in the garden was that lovely earthy one. I'm hoping we had enough rain to wash my dusty car.

Today is just cloudy so far.

Delatron · 24/05/2025 10:39

It’s very humid here. A bad hair day I fear…!

Thanks @GloriaSmud we need the rain and nice to hear the warmth returns. Just no big heatwaves hopefully until after the GCSES are over.

Humid isn't it just. Have opened all the windows not a breath of wind on the coast. It's been horrible cleaning this morning.

Hedjwitch · 24/05/2025 19:38

Mild and breezy here in Central Scotland, with a few light showers.

MotherOfCatBoy · 24/05/2025 21:11

Windy all day here. 30kph, gusty, grey but no rain to speak of.

beenrumbled · 25/05/2025 00:22

Had an amazing day on Newborough beach Anglesey today. Sunny spells or high cloud and beach more or less empty apart from kite surfers. Slight drizzling the way back to car but no rain coats needed. Some heavier rain in the ogwen valley but still not awful on the way back to base. Given the forecast in the middle of last week the last two days could have worse! Looking forward to tomorrow

EmeraldRoulette · 25/05/2025 00:34

Very humid all day here, not that much rain

Forecast for next week - again, no forecasters seem to agree with each other so no idea what to expect really.

Glad you enjoyed it. We had a lovely lunch there on Wednesday. We've been let off lightly so far weather wise.

gingercat02 · 25/05/2025 09:24

Very windy today, but warm. More rain overnight. That's perfect weather IMO, warm dry days and a good amount of rain when I'm asleep.

GloriaSmud · 25/05/2025 12:40

Windy here as well ~ a good drying day! I think we had a bit of a squall line go through about 8.30am this morning with lots of wind and rain but that's been it for rain so far today. Looking at the metoffice forecast/GFS though, it could be a bit of a windy/gusty week....

I've just put a wash on the line and given the warmth and breeziness it'll likely be dry in half an hour.

andtheworldrollson · 25/05/2025 13:02

Breezy? we are acquiring the neighbours clean towels at the moment

Mine is all drying in the conservatory. Too windy today.

Delatron · 25/05/2025 14:43

Yeah there’s not much agreement in the forecasts for the end of next week. I don’t mind a few days of rain as we need it but would like the warmth and sun back after that.

Normally the cooler forecast wins out. We’ll see.
